3.5 stars- This book focuses on Jacob, the sheriff of Bear Creek, he is a good guy and takes his job very seriously. He decides he needs a wife so he seeks out his own mail order bride. Rosa comes to town with the possibility of becoming a wife. The miners in town start getting really sick but no one knows why it is happening. Rosa comes down with some kind of sickness which she thinks is from her travels, which is kind of true. Medicine in this town is pretty minimal so anything major is bad news. The Sioux offer to bring in a teepee to make a sweat hut and herbs for the ill men. This helps bridge some of the discord that has been happening between them and the miners. Rosa and Jacob realize they are a good match together and he proposes marriage.

I requested this audiobook from www.audiobooksunleashed.com for free and have voluntarily left this review.

A FAITHFUL BRIDE FOR A WOUNDED SHERIFF
..AMILA. ROSE
Beat Creek a place where people helped and supported one another.
Jacob awaiting for response to his MOB requests. The letters were not of the applicant , but of his duties as sheriff. Instead of eager to know him as a person. When he was on the job, he never knew what was around the corner.
Riding out to check on the mines, was a mother bear and new cubs. The horse reared up with the sound of the bear’s roar, throwing Jacob off. His right arm is in a cast can he continue as sheriff, if he can’t shoot.
Rosa was brought from the orphanage to tend to a young girl Kathlyn. Both young, they grew up together as friends which displeased the mother.
Of marriage age now, for Rose, they were none for her statue , which Kaylyn mention being a MOB bride then. A generous offer from Katlyn and a adventure, could she love a man through letters and go west, Finding love and a home of her own, is a delightful story readers will enjoy.
Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

A sweet, mail order bride historical western.

Both Jacob and Rosa were kind people concerned about the town. Rosa being a Bear Creek transplant from Boston encountered many new tasks that she took on with zeal. She also had to become comfortable with the more rustic nature of Bear Creek.

Jacob and Rosa's romance developed slowly as the got to know each other. They shared no more than a chaste kids on the cheek.

This book dealt with concepts of defying social norms, racism, natural healing, medicine, and ladies of the evening. All in all it was a consistently paced book with some action and a great deal of how life was lived in a small old West town.

Jacob and Rosa do get their HEA, with a little twist toward the end. I would give this 3.5 stars.

I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received from the author.

Sheriff Jacob Bennings has sent for a mail order bride. Rosa answers his letter and they hit it off. He sends for her sooner than expected, but she goes from Boston to Montana to help out with the local restaurant. The two have a sweet, budding relationship and Rosa begins to fit in her new life. What isn’t expected is Jacob’s broken arm and the amount it damages his confidence. Will he be able to defend Rosa from the dangers of the frontier? And what he doesn’t expect is an enemy that can’t be physically fought! This story is a clean, loving listen, with an interesting twist with the aid of Sioux Indians. It’s always fun to see our friends from the first book in the series come giving continuity in the storyline and a sense of community in the small town. Narrated by the talents of Alan Taylor, he brings the town to life with his warm baritone voice giving us an entertaining listen.

This was such a delightful surprise for me. It is a sweet romance that makes you feel hopeful. The description of the setting and the interactions with the Siux indians was fascinating. It’s also a clean romance but you can feel them fall in love with each other and it was sooo sweet.
Narration: I usually don’t go for male narrators but I have to admit that Alan Taylor did a fantastic job with this book. His voices were distinct and his female characters were believable.
Overall I highly recommend this book to people who enjoy good clean romance stories. I finished it in two days it was that interesting.
I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This is a sweet historical romance. There is not a single tawdry word or action. It is written very "period" appropriate, with none of the characters behaving out of sync for the time it was written in. The story itself is sweet and wonderful, uplifting and hopeful. I loved it. The writing itself is a bit stilted. I'm sure it is meant to reflect the time period for which it was written, but it did draw me out of the story itself a bit. It was a fun read. I won't be reading it a second time.

"I was given this free review copy book at my request and have voluntarily left this review."

A faithful bride for the wounded sheriff

Another great book by Amelia Rose on Historical MailOrder Brides. Rosa a young lady who was brought from a local orphanage in Boston to be a young ladies maid at twelve years old. She grew up being a helper to Katelyn until her mother got into a fit and fired her because of something that she didn’t do. Rosa leaves Boston and travels to Bear Creek to become a mail order bride to the local Sheriff. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
