A Tortured Temptress

Wow! Gisselle has been through so much. This story is so emotional. I could not put it down. Shane will win you over. He falls from Gisselle from the start. There’s plenty of drama to keep you reading. I’m ready for the next book!

This is the second of the Knights of Purgatory Syndicate series. It was non stop emotions from the first page. This #mafiaromance is as intense and passionate as #aseductivebeauty was. Shane and Giselle have drama, passion, and suspense through out. <br /><br />Giselle’s short life has been filled with horror and loss. She has been trying to simply go through the motions of life. She first meet Shane in A Seductive Beauty. He saves her life. This book picks up their story at their meeting in the first. To say Giselle is skittish is an understatement. Shane is more than patient with her. He sees her pain and only wants to protect her. Shane knows the risks that come with his job and lifestyle but he knows that he can protect her from the demons she is chasing. <br /><br />Giselle is so tough she has faced some of the worst life can throw at a person and yet she still standing. She doubts her worth but with Shane’s encouragement she shines and finds her true strength and is able to slay her own demons. Her with Shane was fire. They exploded once she stopped fighting him. Her final act in the book is simply breathtaking because of how far she came. <br /><br /><br />This is a very intense read. Note the triggers at the beginning. It’s a beautiful story of love, strength, and overcoming life’s biggest challenges. E.M. Shue once again created a beautiful love story that has the hero living in the grey areas of life. He has a conscience but is not afraid to do what is necessary to keep those he calls family safe. I am looking forward to the next installment.

Giselle has a survived a horrific tragedy and just wants to keep in the shadows. She’s always on the defensive and can’t ever fall in love, she’ll never put herself in that situation ever again. When she finds herself in a similar situation to her past, there’s no way she will survive it twice, but when she finds that there is a man that wants to save her and protect her will she open her heart and let him in, or will she shut him out and run again?<br /><br />Shane has his own scars to bear, but from the first moment he saw Giselle, he knew she would be his. Now he has to protect her and convince her that he will keep her safe. When the unthinkable happens, Shane is reeling and sends her away, but he doesn’t account for her stubbornness, nor her strength.<br /><br />I loved this story. Shane and Giselle are wonderful characters and work very well together. Giselle is stronger than most give her credit for, and when show Shane her bada** side, their connection becomes stronger. I loved the characters and the story. I can’t wait for more to come with these characters. I give this story a 4-star review.<br />

Poor Gisselle, this girl has gone through it literally, and these days she's a different person. She spends her days alone because she needs to stay hidden but it gets so lonely, and it was palpable for real. Things take a turn when she comes across Shane's path, and he sees inside of her from the jump, probably because his life is no picnic either. See, he's only been living for duty, and that gets old as well, but the moment he comes across Gisselle, he has something exciting to live for but it's not going to be easy. Unfortunately, the past never stays in the past, so things really get complicated when it finds her, and he'll do anything to protect her no matter what. This story was super emotional with a kicker of dark &amp; twisty, so I couldn't get enough. From the moment I opened the first page, I was a goner, and didn't do anything until I read every last page. I love this series, and CANNOT WAIT for more so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 

Dwells in the dark<br /><br />Giselle, a university student and artist, has kept everyone in her life at a distance even Shane, right hand man to the head of the Irish Mob, who she thinks could be more than an acquaintance if her life were different. As the story progresses her safety is shaken, feelings awaken, and just when they think they have all the answers their solution is taken. A Tortured Temptress dwells in the dark of the author’s romantic suspense world. It is amazing how this author keeps expanding the cast of characters that just have to find their person for the reader to look forward to more books and how they intertwine between each of the different series. I am hoping that Brody and Moira are coming next in this story line, but can’t wait to get my hands on Piper’s story in the Securities International series.<br /><br />I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

Wow! What a story of survival and trying to live your life no matter what has happened in it. That’s exactly what Gisselle is doing. She has survived a tragedy and tries to reclaim her life where no one knows her. Shane is just smitten with her from the get go. He knows she’s going through something but not sure what yet. He is there for her even when it seems like she doesn’t want him to be. He never pushes her and just tries his best to show her he isn’t other men. Gisselle is so guarded and never feels completely safe. Is it possible to take down those who wronged Gisselle? Will she be able to survive another attack if she’s apprehended again? Can Shane find a way to make Gisselle his completely and have a forever with her? This book is filled with a lot of suspenseful moments not knowing what will happen next, and feeling sad for what Gisselle has been through.

This is the second book in this incredible series, and this is Shane and Giselle’s story. Giselle has survived a tragedy, which has left her broken, and guarded, but she is strong and resilient, and has been reborn as someone new. Shane has been left hating life after war, and he is searching for a reason to live. When Shane spots Giselle he instantly sees through her façade and the pain she carries on her shoulders. This is a well written emotional roller coaster, with suspense, danger, intrigue, secrets, lies, survival, betrayal, tragedy, twists, and love, which leads to a heartwrenching addictive page turner.<br />I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.<br />

What an emotional rollercoaster ride from start to finish. <br /><br />Gisselle takes on a journey of just surviving day to day and trying to heal in the process. She shows us that she is a survivor with incredible strength and resiliency and can overcome being broken. <br /><br />Shane is also trying to survive life. When he sets his sights on Gisselle, he knows instantly that there she is the something he wants, and he will do what it takes to help her heal and make her his. <br /><br />Such a fantastic story that is filled to the brim with suspense, drama, angst, emotional turmoil, heartache, pain, passion and love. It may be short, but it definitely packed an emotional punch to the gut. <br /><br />LOVED IT.

What an emotional story. Such strength, perseverance, and grit. Giselle is stronger than she realizes and Shane is her anchor. Such a short story filled with so much inspiration. You can do anything that you set your mind to, and with someone to back you, you have to believe that you are unstoppable, and you are. This is a story filled with never ending love. Great ending where Giselle proves her love to him. It's a gut wrenching story, but oh so worth it to see what the power of love can accomplish. <br /><br />I voluntarily reviewed this book.

Wow I just love how this story just captures your attention! Gisselle just make you want to hold her tight and be there for her! And there’s Shane! Oh man! Shane see Gisselle and instantly is protected of her. He see something in her that make him want to take care of her. But something in her past and is now wanting to stay there, and Shane will do want he can to protect her from it! This will have you leaning forward with anticipation to see if Shane and Gisselle will have their HEA, but you know they will bc this is EM Shue book! ? ❤️
