Each book can be read as a standalone but is best read in order.

Throughout the series we get so many hints and snipets of Grace and Finn that they have been my most anticipated couple of this series. The were prominent background characters that stood out to me. They are both kind, caring and compassionate and both dealing with heavy issues life keeps throwing their way. Even though they have slightly opposite personalities they have always just been drawn to each other and have formed a strong (somewhat unlikely) friendship along the way. Their romance is a slowburn, sweet and passionate one with a hiccup or two in their path.

Honestly this wasn't exactly how I pictured their story going and would've loved a little less OM (though unrequited) drama. Throughout the series Grace has always had a 'mysterious' reason around why she doesn't like to be left alone at night and even though I loved finally getting clued in on this, I wish the story had more focused on that as the main point as well as Finn's family background and less on the OM baby daddy drama. That is just a personal opinion but I still ended up enjoying the book and the series as a whole is one of my favourites. Charity always finds a way to add in some drama while keeping it low angst and super entertaining to read and I can not wait to see how it all ends in Last Round (book 5)

《book aesthetic made by me. The minute I knew this book was going to be a fake relationship, surprise baby, friends to more plotline, I knew I was going to fall in love. Having read quite a few dark romances recently, I needed something with enough of an edge to keep me interested, but not too dark, and Chaser ticked all those boxes.

Grace’s world is rocked when she discovers she’s pregnant by her ex-boyfriend, a man she recently discovered wasn’t who he said he was. Unsure how her future will look, she turns to her close-knit friendship group who have her back through anything, especially her best friend Finn Duke, who she’s been secretly in love with for years. Finn has covertly reciprocated those feelings, and they’ve danced round their attraction, terrified of ruining the friendship they’ve built for something more. So, when Grace needs someone to act as the father of her baby in front of her parents, Finn eagerly accepts the role, wishing he had got his act together sooner so that they could be doing it for real. But soon the lines become blurred, and what started off as a fake relationship soon turns to real as they begin to navigate the pregnancy together. But when the biological father starts sniffing around, will it be the end of their blossoming love?

Both Grace and Finn had demons that they kept from each other, and whilst their friendship was deeper with each other than with anyone else within the group. Only when they became more did they reveal all about their pasts. They both kept their feelings to themselves for different reasons, but the minute they had to play happy families together, they realised how silly they’d been for fighting their love for so long.

Finn had a rough upbringing on the wrong side of the tracks, so constantly assumed that Grace was too good for him, despite her never putting that feeling across. He found it difficult to trust, having been let down by those who were supposed to love him unconditionally, and was used to people being able to walk away from him without a second thought. So it took a lot for him to put himself out there and put his feelings for Grace on the line, because he knew if he could convince her hew as all in, then he would finally have the girl, and the family, he’d always dreamed of.

Grace was a tough nut to crack, the hints that there was something going on behind the scenes with her starting even in the previous book, Straight Up, made me so intrigued into knowing more about her character. Fairly quiet and sweet, I thought she handled the whole pregnancy thing very well considering, and when all is revealed about her past traumatic experience, I felt her pain. She needed someone she could trust explicitly, someone who could make her feel safe and that person was Finn. I did wish she fought back a bit more when it came to her ex, I wanted more fight from her, but could also understand why she acted how she did. She just wanted to forget about him and move on with her baby, and I admired how she was ready to do it on her own and didn’t make Finn feel like he had to be there.

The Twisted Fox series has slowly cemented itself in my heart. While I wasn’t totally sold on the first book, I am so glad I carried on reading the stories of this group of friends, because the more I read about them, the more I want to be invited to their Taco Tuesdays and nights hanging out at the bar. Charity has set up the final book, Lola and Silas’ story, so perfectly, that while I’ll be sad to see them go, The Last Round cannot come quick enough!

*I voluntarily left a review after receiving an advanced copy.*

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / Steam: ???

CW: mentions of infidelity, panic attacks, nightmares, attempted rape and assault (flashback), secondary character with substance abuse problems

Review: While Stirred might be my favourite of the series, this one comes a close second. There was so much to love about this book. I had been waiting to learn more about Grace through the first three books and to finally have her story made me really happy. She’s such a complex character and she’s got so much more going for her than one would tell from her appearances over the course of the books. And the same with Finn. Their relationship made me feel all the things and everything about them hit all the marks for me and I’m glad I ended with this one, because it made me happy.

I know that a lot of people don’t like the accidental pregnancy trope, but I do. Of course, only when it’s done well and not used as the point of conflict through the book. That’s not what happened here and that was great. Grace finds out she’s pregnant after having an affair with the principal at the school where she works, problem is this man is married and he kept that a secret from Grace. But the minute she finds out, she does the right thing by walking away. And then her best friend and the only man she’s ever loved steps in and pretends to be her baby daddy. So it was a combination of tropes I often like—best friends to lovers, fake relationship, slow burn.

Grace and Finn were so great. I loved their friendship so much and I enjoyed watching the two of them admit their feelings after holding onto them for so long. I also really liked that even though they’ve been friends for so long, Finn and Grace have some secrets that slowly start to come out of the woodwork. I appreciated the conversations, dialogue and communication between these characters. I loved how much they just loved each other in all forms—friends, lovers and partners.

This book is heavier than the others in the series, with lots of things unravelling from the past, but I think everything tragic in their stories were handled really well in this one and I enjoyed everything about it.

When Grace found out the principal at the school where she teaches—who she just so happened to be dating—is married, she cuts things off immediately. She expects to wipe her hands clean of the cheater, until she finds out she’s pregnant with her baby. Since Grace comes from a well-to-do family who believe in marriage before babies, she doesn’t know how she’ll break the news to her parents. But her group of best friends have an idea: Grace’s guy best friend, Finn, could pretend to be the dad when she tells her family.

Grace has had a crush on Finn for the entirety of their friendship, but what she doesn’t know is Finn has felt the same. Finn has wanted Grace since he first laid eyes on her, but he doesn’t feel he’s worthy. His childhood was rough—to put it kindly—whereas Grace came from money & stability. So when the opportunity drops in his lap to be there for Grace, even if it means taking responsibility for a child that isn’t his, he knows he’d be a fool not to say yes.

Maybe once and for all, Grace & Finn can come clean about their feelings and finally have everything they’ve ever wanted together...

Chaser by Charity Ferrell is book 4 in the Twisted Fox series. This is a friends to lovers meets surprise baby romance, but not in the traditional way. It wouldn’t be a Charity romance without a whole lot of drama and I was all here for it. I thought Finn & Grace’s romance was sweet and heartfelt. I loved how Finn stepped up for Grace and helped her through an extremely difficult time in her life. I recommend reading the first 3 books before book 4, as the stories are very interconnected. 4/5 stars.

Grace and Finn have been friends for years, close for years, secretly in love with each other for years. Grace was born to a trust fund, Finn, born to filth, a mother who OD'd and a father that he is waiting to learn has OD'd. A father who takes and takes, but has never really given. He sees himself unworthy of her. Something she does not believe, would never believe.

When Grace learns she is pregnant by the man she just learned hid the fact he was married, her world starts to crash. An idea by her sister, a fake boyfriend, with Finn filling the role. He willingly agrees, he would literally do anything to make hr smile, laugh, to make her life easy.

What happens when the role playing becomes blurred with reality and their desires become known and moved on.

Loved the connection of these two. Also loved other characters. Would've been 5-star read for me with a little better ending, I thought it was too blah for my liking.

This was just wonderful, I really enjoyed Grace and Finn's story!
Grace finds herself in a scary situation, she nervous to tell her parents. So when her friends and sister come up with the plan to involve Finn. Finn whose been in love with Grace since they've became friends he agrees. Secrets come to light and drama finds Grace at work but Finn never leaves her side. I just loved this couple, Finn was just the best.

Throughout the series, we've been teased with the potential of what Grace & Finn would be together if they only got out of their own ways and just figured out how much they loved one another. I honestly couldn't wait for this book, especially since best friends to lovers is one of my secret favorite tropes, and with these two being complete opposites of one another, I couldn't wait for all the sparks to fly! But honestly.. between all the OM drama (though to be clear, Grace didn't want his attention) and the weird spacing of the book, the love between these characters just fell so flat for me. I wish we would have gotten more as to way Grace couldn't spend the night alone, and just how that has affected her all this time. If that had been the focus more than the sad excuse of the baby daddy, I probably would have rated this higher.

That's not to say that there is anything wrong with this couple, because there truly isn't.. and I'm not even sure if I can put my finger on it, but it all just fell flat to me. It's like we barley just scratched the surface of their connection, or just when we were finally getting somewhere, it would just stop. Like I said above, the pacing was extremely off in this book, which took away from the overall storyline for me.

Also, I was more invested as to what is going down between Silas and Lola. You can just *feel* the angst coming off those two, and I'm so glad Charity saved them for last! I felt more connected to them than I did Grace and Finn, but I just know I will love the last addition of this series!

This book is still worth reading for sure, especially if you've read the rest of the books in the series.

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

2,5 stars. This book was too cheesy. Drama created for no drama in the end. All rainbow and butterflies. The further I read along the more unbelievable the plot became. I liked the friends to lovers trope and the hero not being a manwhore and parading women in front of her. There were some major angsty subjects, but because they were all glossed over the book was just plain boring. There is a trigger in this book and again glitter farting unicorns with this topic. It was just not for me.

Safe read (or with exception, according to your liking). Heroine pregnant with OM baby, he’s married but never told the h. Some drama with this OM. No OW drama. Hero not a manwhore, celibate for “a while”. No cheating or sex with OP.

Trigger: in the past h shot two men who tried to rape het sister.
