Oh Gosh! Oh Gosh! Oh Gosh!!!!

What an ending to this book!!!! I never saw it coming. Will a future book address this ending? It kinda feels like a side-story cliff-hanger. And will Sweetfern Harbor get a new resident in a future book? Can't wait for book 11 in this series to come out!!!!

Digging begins on the Sheffield B&B property as the new cottage for Brenda and Mac is underway. But things get stopped when the contractor discovers something metal underground that halts the process. Brenda and Mac decide to do a little digging and find a worn metal chest which Brenda finds a key for in her uncle’s possessions. The chest includes a few items from the past which somehow connect to an unsolved 1982 case of robbery and murder.

With Brenda and Mac leading the investigation, they soon find that a few of the current B&B guests might actually have ties to the old unsolved case. One is a writer staying at the B&B to finish her mystery book which may turn out to be a little bit of fiction and non-fiction.

This is a great little mystery that will keep you in suspense with all of its twists and turns.

Who's more cold hearted the killer or the author?

Probably the best one in the series. Nice plot that woven a path that had so many twists and turns that you really had no idea who the killer really was. However the main thing that engrossed me was the attitude of the author - now that was really cold and hard.
New guests are scheduled to arrive - a couple who run a successful business, an author wishing to finish her latest book and two couples who enjoy any and all outdoor activity. From the first meeting the business man keeps staring at the author. So much so that she asks to be seated away from him. Plus the rebuilding of the cottage is going ahead. A dug up metal box, a cold case murder of a wealthy couple and a book that might have answers. Will it lead to clearing up the cold case? Will her father ever propose?

Brenda and Mac's new house under construction. When the contractor hits something hard they wonder if it's buried treasure. It's a chest with old items and a confession to a murder that happened almost thirty six years ago.
The Inn is full again with a writer, a textiles couple and two younger couples. The writer shares the last name with a long ago suspect. The textile guy is being very weird towards the writer.
Brenda and Mac are on it in case a killer is in their myst.
This was a great, fast read. I always enjoy her writing.
I voluntarily agreed to review this book. My review is my own honest opinion.

Excellent book!!!!

I adore this series!!!!
I love how Brenda figures out the puzzle pieces to cold cases. I really love how Mac listens to her and no blow off her thoughts.
Now that they are under way of getting their house/cottage built, something is found and starts a 20 year cold case. And then it involves some guests at the Sheffield B & B.
Brenda and Mac find a Chest near their newly building of their home and starts the mystery.
So now you have to find out all about thieves, secrets, truths from fiction written in a book, about the author of the book and last but not least a double MURDER!!!!!
Get the book!!!! YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!

Brenda and Mac are back again in a cozy mystery and trying to solve an cold case that they discovered when finding a box buried in the Inn's back yard. It was a quick entertaining read with a mystery that kept me guessing for the fun twist and waiting to see who the bad guy was. I liked that it was not a centuries old mystery but a more modern one. It was fun to check in with all the quirky characters from the Inn and town too. It made me giggle and I enjoyed it.

Formatting nightmare

The complete lack of formatting make this kind of a trainwreck. Not even linebreaks between character or scene changes. The story wasn't enough to make up for it, so I'm just left annoyed by the experience more than anything. Thus series may be sliding off the list.

Wow

I feel that somehow Annette is not good person. I would love to know what happened to her mom. I would love to know if they will ever connect her to anything. She would be worse than her dad.
