This book is beyond amazing! Epic. The most anticipated book of all the Rose books. And it was so worth waiting! A total whirlwind of all the possible emotions. Yes, I admit I've been laughing, crying (more than anything else), upset, angry, shocked, surprised, yelling and more..
I've been preparing myself to anything happening in this book (that's what I thought) but Denise proved it was not enough even though I knew it won't be enough. She is the master of telling the stories of her character's lives - yes, I believe they live their own lives and Denise put it in to words to make it available for us to read! That's a great TALENT! I love the way this story goes even if my silly heart disagrees..
I think there's no need to say I couldn't put it down even if I wanted to make it last longer.
Haven't read it yet? Just grab it and prepare yourself for a wild ride! And, don't forget to read the Bonus scene at the end of book! You'll be amazed more!

Each book in the Rose Gardner series is more complex and unexpected than the one before. I have thought about this review more than any other I’ve ever written simply because it’s so hard not to include spoilers. This book, which I sat up most of the night reading, completely changes Rose’s world as we’ve come to accept it through her journey from 28-1/2 Wishes.

Rose is definitely not a shy, scared, inexperienced girl anymore; she has grown into a strong, independent, worldly woman who is willing to stand up to even the most hardened criminals in Henryetta.

More than once my jaw dropped open reading this book. There were also a few laughs, and several tears. Denise is a master storyteller, and this book is another example of her talent as a writer.

When you love a story so much!!!
When you love a series so much!!!
When you fall for characters time and time again!!!
When I story grabs you so, so much you go through a whole gamut of emotions, before, during and for a long time after, then you know you just read something very magical.

The intense anxiety leading up to a new Rose Gardener release is real, especially for die-hard longtime fans...
The build-up toward another visit to Henrietta reading more about Rose's life, living it with her, it's so powerful sleep is impossible.
When you actually get the book and you hesitate to open it because you just don't know what's truly coming, even if in your head you might have some idea... Denise Grover Swank is such a masterful story-teller she always manages to throw in a few surprises, some good some not so good... But always worth it in the end...
I am always still amazed to think after all these books it's only been a span of 18 months for Roses' life... I mean seriously this young woman has just grown from strength to strength, she is surrounded by people who love her and people who hate her just for being herself but I have a feeling the people who Love Rose will always outweigh those haters...
Now I'm ready for the next chapter...

Rose's ex-boyfriend...no, not Joe...no, not Skeeter either...Rose's ex-boyfriend Mason has called her before a grand jury investigating corruption in Fenton County.
Violet, her sister who has terminal cancer, is coming to the end of her life.

I don't know....there is other stuff as well.

But it doesn't add up to a story.

I struggled to finish this book and honestly the only reason I forced myself was because when Denise Grover Swank is good, she's great. But this book is evidence that even good authors occasionally write terrible books.

First I have to say this book completely blew me away! I was completely in love with it even as it ripped my heart to shreds. It was so powerful and emotionally charged. The stories and characters that Denise gives us are unlike any others. I could never pick an actual favorite book but this entire series is a favorite and I will recommend Rose to anyone and everyone I meet.

We first met Rose in Twenty-eight and a Half Wishes, she sucked us in and took us on a crazy ride. Rose has grown and changed so much since we first met her just like a real person would. But she still lives by her heart. She takes care of people and she inspires loyalty. She and all her strays are complex and wonderful characters. You don't have this many books if you don't have an insanely amazing story and characters. I love them all. Even the damaged ones.

I was up until 2 am reading because I literally couldn't stand to put it down until I was done. And when I finished I just stared at it and cried. This book hit me deep. It was amazing.

Im sure this will be an unpopular opinion, but this book fell pretty flat for me.
What happened to the characters personalities, their individual voices that are usually so prominent in these books? They were decidedly bland in this instalment.
The story was predictable. It lacked the usual drama and suspense.
It was obvious from very near the beginning that Rose was pregnant.
It was obvious that Rose would not betray anyone in her testimony.
It was obvious that she would be kidnapped and come out smelling of roses, if you’ll pardon the pun.
There were no surprises, no shocking revelations, no twists or suspense.
Even the bonus scene was boring.
To add to the problems, there were so many errors missed in editing, especially in the dialogue.
I am a fan of the series and the author, but this book was sub par. Not up to the usual standard at all.

Who needs sleep anyways?! This coming from a person that loves her sleep! I couldn’t get enough of this book!!! So I just finished and I’m blown away!!! I knew it would be incredible and I was definitely not disappointed. I’m forever grateful that Denise follows her heart when her characters insist she tell their stories. This one was so much more than I could’ve ever hoped for and I’m especially happy with this turn of events. This book is beyond amazing. This book is beyond epic. This book is everything!

This book has been one of the most anticipated episodes from the whole Rose collection. It goes without saying, but I will, you need to have read the other editions, as this picks up pretty close to where book 4 ends.

I find these are the hardest books to review, purely because so much happens and I do not want to spoil anything for readers. These mysteries are jam packed full of action that your head will move back and forth like a good tennis match. I suggest grab some popcorn and buckle in for an amazing ride.

This installment mainly takes place at the farmhouse and it’s time frame is no more than a week. Which brings about a lot of things happening in a short amount of time, but that’s Rose’s life in a nut shell. There is a lot activity coming and going from Rose’s home and also some hustle and bustle happening around the town. Plenty of emotions come into play with every factor undertaking. Some readers may be shocked with the outcomes but I for one am please how Rose has adopted her new perspective of life. She has definitely matured since Twenty-eight and a Half Wishes but she has also gained so much wisdom.

Things To Do Before Starting This Book:

1. Get a big drink and put it next to your reading chair.
2. Put a box of tissue there, too
3. Turn off your phone.
4. Order a pizza so the kids won't need you to cook dinner.
5. Hang a "Closed" sign on your door so no one will bother you.

So good! Just fantastic. Rose Gardner is a favorite, and the series just gets better and better. Denise Grover Swank knows what she's doing and she takes you on a fun, funny, scary, emotional, devastating, hopeful ride this time out.

Since I don't want to spoil it for you, just know that this installment of the Rose Gardner Investigations series really ups the game and moves things along at a breakneck pace. Whether the book leaves you teary-eyed, heartbroken, hopeful, or completely stressed out (as it did me!) it is absolutely going to affect you.

Things To Do After You've Read This Book:

1. Take a few deep breaths, in and out, and pull yourself together.
2. Refill that big drink and maybe add some booze to calm you down.
3. Give rave reviews of Come Rain or Shine on every platform you can! (You'll want to, trust me.)
4. Call your best friend and tell them to read this book.
5. Get something to eat, then start reading it again.

Seriously, this book is that good. Well done, Ms. Swank. Keep 'em coming; I'm already chomping at the bit for the next one.

Wow!!! Left absolutely speechless!! Five stars all the way!
I know I say this about every new Rose Gardner book that comes out but this is my new favorite. Things weren’t all sunshine and rainbows but this was such an emotional book and I couldn’t put it down. I cried at least seven times, laughed out loud at least five or six, and gasped at many parts. I am so emotionally invested in this series it isn’t even funny and it’s all thanks to the amazing writing and the constant development of characters.

Come Rain or Shine is changing Rose’s whole life and I absolutely cannot wait to see where the series is heading after this. There is so much more I want to know and read about and I do not ever want to see this series end. There may already be many books in this series but they are all different and new. There is not one part of this series, or the previous one, that I can say is boring or feels repetitive and I absolutely love that. Come Rain or Shine had so many twists and turns that I could not guess where it was going and that is the best kind of book to read. I will try my best to patiently wait for the next book.
