Introduction:
A Pulp Fantasy Harem Adventure.Chicago firefighter Ethan DePaolo saved the kingdom of Whitespire from the dragons of fire and frost, but when word of an approaching horde controlled by both a blue and green dragon reaches them, the dragon slayer knows that Whitespire will need more help. Their only chance is the distant city of Windwall, but they have problems of their own, since the devious black dragon Emroth has laid siege to the city for generations, and the citizens have given up all hope of ever defeating their enemy. Fortunately for them, Ethan knows a thing or two about defeating dragons. Disclaimer: Dragon Slayer is a pulp sword and sorcery novel written in the spirit of Robert E. Howard, Michael Moorcock, and Fritz Leiber. The novel contains extreme violence and a harem of beautiful sorceresses that the hero sleeps with, so it is not meant for readers under the age of 18.

Delivered much more than the first in the series

One negative, the protagonist / hero is almost silly in his obsession with immediate action, no time for planning or rest. But, that is a small negative amongst many positives.

After the first book I feared it would become to repetitive / formulaic, where each dragon was conquered in much the same fashion. This story diverged enough to make it interesting with a dragon with uniquely different powers, and a demonic enemy which also had to be overcome.

The new city with its new culture, openly borrowing from various asian influences was interesting, while still consistently maintaining its fantastic and magical elements.

The journey into the underground ancient city to fight the demon and the multitude of minions was cinematic, with lush detail establishing the mood and ambience, and interspersed with plenty of action.

Made the first book of the series worth reading. No looking forward to the next steps.

I have enjoyed the two books of the Dragon Slayer series. Slightly different hero cast in the light of the pulp sandal and sword fantasy books of the late 70s and early 80s. Great action throughout the book with almost no slow spots. This book picks up right were the first book ended and runs with the story.

Graphic sex and violence but the sex is not overly explicit. You get the idea but not the blow-by-blow of what is going on between Ethan and his women.

I have to wonder though what happened to the maid and the princess Ethan shtupped in the first book? Does the maid and princess return to Ethan's bed or were those one night stands? What happens if Ethan has knocked up both the Princess and the maid? Lots of possibilities for the third book.

Another really fun read.

I like the direction this story is going. I was a little worried about him becoming OP at the end of the last book, but the variance in the dragon abilities, the increased dragon minions, and potential enemy alliances on the horizon balance it nicely in my opinion. The building of the harem in this is about as realistic as any harem can be, and it felt like the women had real emotions, as opposed to just having no problems with their man sleeping with everything in sight. 10/10

Sir Ethan Dragonrider!

Once again Sir Ethan has to take on a dragon! This dragon has been terrorising the city of Windwall for hundreds of years. It has some kind of magic that hides it from sight. Since they can't see the dragon the can't kill it. The best hope is for Ethan to dare the underground tunnels that go to the ancient city and there to find a magic headband that enables the user to see in the infrared. But first there is a demon to overcome.
The action is non stop and Ethan (like most of MSE's heroes) is starting to build himself a nice little harem!I
Good fun

Excitement ahead as the pace picks up

Book 2 is a good pick up on book 1 and i found a lot smoother this time round and a lot more of an interesting read.
The relationships and skills in this one makes for good amount of reader interest and there is a better build up of the action and battles.
Enjoyed this one quite a bit and shows more of the MSE flair so i will be sticking with this series
Truly enjoyable.

This book is a great sequel to the first. There was plenty of action, not to mention the character development and the back story of the world is very interesting. The author has crafted a world filled with wonder and has populated it with plenty of intriguing characters. I am truly looking forward to the next book in this epic series.

A great follow up that (IMHO) was even better than the first. The 'humanizing' of the dragons is organic and follows a natural pattern (albeit a somewhat short pattern).

The conflicts and character development, especially the contrasts between the two dragon women, is a fun side plot.

MSE continues to produce fun works.

Definitely enjoyed this book. Read it all in one setting. As the story develops I thought the author could have expanded it a bit more concerning the ghouls, imps and the demon but I guess he was just trying to get it out for us to read. So far the series is off to a pretty good start and I'm looking forward to the next book.
