“She was watching you while you made the toast like you are the best thing since Netflix”

Book 5 in the Archer Brothers series... and Tyson is the last brother. Boy I am sad to see them go. The Archer family is one that makes you fall in love hard and makes you want to be a part of their craziness.

“I don’t ask for permission.
I’ll ask for forgiveness if I need to.”

Tyson Archer is the youngest of the Archer brothers and the last one to get snatched!
He is funny, laid back and minds his own business. He’s probably the calmer of the Archer brothers.
Ty works at Ocean Rescue with the rest of his brothers and he loves his job. There’s nothing Ty loves more than the ocean... Well, except maybe Abby.
Ty is also loves the desert and dirt biking and he is in love with music. It’s his guilty pleasure and something he has pursuing, without the knowledge of his family.

“I’m all breathy with excitement. “That’s the biggest one I’ve ever seen.”
He chuckles, “Why, thank you.”
I pinch at him. “Good grief. Boys turn everything into something dirty.”

Abby is a Doctor. Both her parents are surgeons and her mother is as stiff and as cold as a ice stick. It’s said in the book that Abby knows her parents are disappointed that she hasn’t become a surgeon herself, tho, after reading the book, I do think that that disappointment, existing, is only on her mother’s part.
Abby loves her job too. Saving lives is her calling, but she also has a guilty pleasure - Baking - that she has been pursuing without her parents (or most anyone for that matter) knowing.

It’s interesting that despite Tyson and Abbys relationship with their family is so different from each other, they both felt the need to pursue secret hobbies.

“it’s only been five days and thirteen hours since we shared that mind-bending kiss at the wedding.
Obsessed with her? More than a little.”

“Well, with you being a doctor and all, I wasn’t sure if you were all prim and proper and missionary.”

The chemistry between Abby and Ty is off the charts and has been hint at in previous books. I must say that I was looking forward to read these two story.
It was an interesting story to follow along because it’s very different from other plots I’ve read. The main problem with this two is the fact that Abby feels so inclined to meet her parents expectations.
It’s a rollercoaster, to be honest. The agony, the stress, the pain really that Abby experiences until she decides that she’s her own person and she is the only person and that she only needs to meet her own expectations. To stand up for herself and for what she wants.
To me this was a beautiful moment.

It really is a great book. All of them to be honest.
I wish we could get some bonus content with all the Archers and their family.

Arc kindly provided by the author

emotional roller coaster. This is a great friends to lovers romance that will warm your heart. This is the last book of the Archer brothers and is Tyson's story. She's a doctor and he's a lifeguard. they're great friends who take things to the next level with benefits. One thing leads to another and chemistry takes over. This was a cute, easy read that was fun. The characters are cute and the story line is entertaining. I read an arc via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.

This was a good read. Tyson is the last one to find love. Him and Abby start spending time together. It was just supposed to be friends with benefits. It quickly becomes more for both. Luckily in the end it all works out and they get their happy ending.

All of Ty’s brothers have found their life partners and this book features Ty’s story. He envies what his brothers have with their wives, but he is not sure what his future hold for him. He does know that he would like to get to know a certain beautiful doctor much better. The chemistry between Abby and Ty is hot enough to raise the room temperature by at least 50 degrees. They have been attracted to each other for a while, but neither made a move until his brother’s wedding. An evening of dancing and hot kisses is a nice start to letting each other know they are interested. Abby is busy ER doctor and Ty is a lifeguard with paramedic training. Both have a side job that they keep secret from their family. When her planned trip out of town is cancelled, Ty invites Abby to go away with him for the weekend. She eagerly agrees for a couple of reasons. Her parents are getting on her nerves by trying to set her up with another doctor, and things are getting very tense at home because of it. The other reason....her fierce attraction to Ty. The weekend is enlightening for both. Ty has a wild, adventurous side that Abby finds very appealing and addictive. He also has a softer, caring side that he keeps well hidden. Being with him allows Abby to be herself, to decompress and to explore her own adventurous side. Ty discovers that Abby is much more than a dedicated doctor. She bakes to distress and for fun, and she is more than willing to try something new. That weekend changes everything between them. Though they say they will just be friends with benefits, both want something more. But his sudden doubts, as well as her parents objections and her plans to pursue a fellowship elsewhere to escape them may well derail any future they could have together. Is a happily ever after possible for them?

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Friend Rules is Tyson's and Abby's love story. Doctor Abby Winston is being pressured by her parents to marry a surgeon. They are both surgeons and want only the best for their daughter. Tyson Archer is the last unmarried Archer brother. He too works for Ocean Rescue but has dreams of recording his music. Tyson and Abby are often crossing paths either at the hospital or Maddy's shop. They both feel the electricity between them. Everyone around them can see it. They just need to do something about it. At Bishop's and Mia's wedding they finally spend time together alone.

Tyler invites Abby to go away for the weekend to the desert. Soon Tyler shows her how to let go and relax. He shows his real side to Abby. When they return to civilization, Abby takes Tyson to dinner with her parents. The next morning her mother finds Tyson alone at Abby's. She basically tells Tyson he is not good enough for her daughter.

This couple's road to happiness is not as easy as they hoped. There is a fellowship out of town, wildfires, and groupies for Tyson. The story weaves romance, humor and action well. Abby struggles with insecurities about their relationship. They don't communicate very well. A brush with death finally sharpens their focus. This brush is very realistic - it's very close to what actually happens in California during fire season. This story seems to wrap up the brothers' stories while opening the door on a team of firefighters and rescuers. Tyson communicates uniquely through his actions. They explain his feelings better than words. Friend Rules reads quickly and ends happily ever after. All of the family are a part of this story. I would love to follow up with the gang down the line.

Twin flames beneath the desert sky
This friends to lovers romance story is about Tyson and Abby. They’ve been friends for a little while, but deep down, he harbours more than just feelings of friendship towards her. He’s waited a year to make a move, and does it at one of his brother’s weddings, initially! This only fuels his desire for her, and sparks a fire within her too.
A serendipitous meeting at the airport, AKA rain rescue, has them spending some time together again before he invites her to the desert for the weekend. That was always going to be fun, and he took her well out of her comfort zone. Their adventures together were fun, sweet and steamy! Ocean boy certainly was full of surprises! But can two (seemingly) opposites move forward together in unison when so many things could go wrong, especially with the interference of her parents?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were all great – even her parents managed to win me over in the end. The relationships amongst the Archer family are heart-warming and definitely make for great life goals! The way the desert was talked about was so descriptive, that I wish I had’ve been there with them. The first epilogue in particular showcased its beauty perfectly. I was trying to delay reading the second epilogue because I didn’t want their story to end. I felt endeared to Tyson and Abby, and I wanted more of them, seeing what their future looked like. I give this book four and a half desert stars.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
As one who never read the first books, I understand that the character were probably introduced elsewhere. But if a book is to be considered a standalone, a reader shouldn't have to read any other story to get everything they need tonunderstand the story they are reading.

This story had potential to be really good. The female lead is a doctor, which is refreshing. Usually it's the male lead that is the doctor and the female lead is someone with a profession that is not as prominent. But outside of the job she had, the female lead fell seriously short.

Readers get to see Ty as a brother first, then a son. You get to experience him letting loose with his friends and playing his music. We get to see him from many angles. And while his focus is on Abby, she isn't all he thinks about the whole story.

When you get Abby's POV, about 95 percent of it is her desire for Ty. We aren't given "Abby without Ty" and that makes her too two dimensional. Yes she is a doctor... a fact that we are TOLD about many times. We eventually find out she likes to bake. And about 25% into the book we are told what her problem is with her parents.

There is show and tell with Ty, while Abby is all tell. And if the reader is drawn to the story because the female lead is presented as a strong doctor, they have expectations that won't be met in the first half of the book and they might not read on.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Tyson, the last unmarried Archer brother is a paramedic/lifeguard for Ocean Rescue who also sings and is pursuing a recording contract. He has been attracted to Abby for a while and they finally connect and spend a fun weekend in the desert. Abby is a doctor and has a side job baking unusual cakes that she keeps hidden from her family. Abby and Tyson are good together but her parents are pressuring her to marry a doctor. Tyson does not want to pressure her to commit so he suggests a friends with benefits arrangement. Will Tyson and Abby be able to find happiness together despite the pressure from her family and her new job opportunity?

I loved this story where 2 people connect despite her family’s expectations and try to find happiness. The author did a great job letting us see how they both felt and what they were willing to do to find happiness. It was fun to see the Archer family again and another brother trying to find happiness in both his job and family. The 2 epilogues were a great conclusion for their story.

Book 5 of Jenna Gunn's The Archer Brothers series, Friend Rules, is a fantastic friends-to-lovers romance. Tyson is the the last of the Archer brothers to settle down, and he has his eye on beautiful doctor Abby. Friends for a year, there has also been a simmering attraction there, but it isn't until Tyson's brother's wedding that they two first cross the line with a super hot kiss. Then when Abby's plan for a weekend away is nixed due to a cancelled fly, Ty takes advantage and whisks her away for a weekend camping in the desert. These two have insane chemistry, but have opposition from her family, their divergent careers, and secret hobby of Abby's to contend with. This is a superbly written novel with two authentic characters you cannot help but fall in love with from the opening pages. You can read Abby and Tyson's story as a standalone - but what's the fun in that when there is an entire awesome series of hot Archer brothers you could devour?!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
