Galen’s Gemma is the 23rd book in the Heroes for Hire Series. Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down. When Gemma’s brother-in-law Joe is murdered, Gemma takes on the job of keeping her sister (Rebecca) and niece (Becky) safe. Galen and Zach are sent to Germany to investigate thefts occurring at the brewery Joe managed in Germany. At first, Galen and Zach thought the murder was related to the brewery business, Joe had been making changes that included firing his predecessor. These changes were not very popular with the employees. Once Galen and Zach saw that Gemma, Rebecca and Becky were on the run, Galen and Zach realized that they needed to help keep them safe. What followed were a lot of twist and turns that kept the me engaged. After 22 other books in the series, I am surprised at the fresh storyline. If you are looking for something quick to read, I am sure you will enjoy reading Galem’s Gemma.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

When an associate of Levi’s needs assistance Galen is sent overseas to keep Gemma as well as her sister and niece safe. The only problem with the plan is when they arrive, they are nowhere to be found so the first item on the agenda is to track them down.

The murder of Gemma’s brother in-law was only the tip of the iceberg as the peril around her sister and her niece escalates so she believes the only way to keep them safe is to keep them hidden.

From their first action packed meeting they are drawn to each other in a way that neither expected but will they be able to uncover the truth before it is too late? Intrigue, surprises and romance all combine into a compelling storyline.
This kept me on my toes trying to work out Rebecca gosh how different the sisters were. It did make me wonder about parentage honestly. Exciting plot with lots going on and a cute little girl who has ended up in the middle of things no child her age should. It is fairly complex and takes a long time to start getting the pieces put together, not that it is slow or in a bad way but it definitely builds the suspense up. Great characters, even the bad guys. This is a fast paced read and one I thoroughly enjoyed sinking into, plenty of action and when it settles a bit you get the cute. Loved it.

Galen is sent to assist Zack with a case involving a brewery, where the manager has been shot. What they find is not what was expected. Gemma is strong, quick witted, resourceful and so very different from her sister. Galen is instantly drawn to her. This book has mystery, murder and kidnapping in it. It's a great read. I volunteered to read this book via Booksprout.

I loveee this one, I miss Levi's crew and this one definitely a remedy for it, love seeing Ice and Levi getting ready to become a parent and what I love the most is of course Galen and Gemma 's story, there's a lot of angst here, some parts just makes me want to slap and kick that evil person (you have to read to find out who's this horrible, terrible, despicable person is and I bet you'd want to smack this person too), not much actions as I'd wanted to, but the feelings are more complex than the previous book, so yeah I really love it.

A page-turner story with loveable characters, definitely a MUST-READ for light suspense romance readers.

One of the best parts of this book is when Ice comes out to give Galen his assignment. We get to see just a bit of how her pregnancy is going.

Zack is a contact that Levi and Ice want to work with and he has a problem. Well technically it's not his problem, but the woman involved is like a little sister to him. Since Harrison has to do some more behind the scenes work on the Museum thing, Galen is the best choice to head out to Germany.

Zack and Galen hit it off pretty well, but find their quarry is gone.

Gemma's brother-in-law Joe has been murdered and her sister Rebecca is in denial big time. Their house had been broken into and Rebecca keeps insisting it was simply a burglary gone wrong. Gemma knows better and her priority is to keep Rebecca and her daughter Becky safe. She knows it's going to get dangerous and she's going to need help. For now though they need to get to Joe's cabin, get a bit of rest before continuing on.

Gemma isn't pleased to find Rebecca has called Zack while she was getting gas. She wasn't happy to find he wasn't alone either or that they would meet up with them at Joe's cabin.

I have to admit I like Gemma's contacts, and also the compound she brought them to after the cabin. She had spent many a summer on that property. A happy time for her and their is plenty to keep little Becky happy as well.

The guys find they like Tim the owner, even though he seems to have quite and arsenal on the premises. Also good to know Tim is a Veteran and will help keep everyone safe while they are there.

Gemma has plenty of love for her family and is proactive in every thing she does. Her niece Becky is adorable but even at her young age she gravitates more toward Gemma than her mother. I mean seriously, who names their daughter after themselves?

So much intrigue and mystery surrounds Joe's death and Rebecca isn't helping at all. It seems like a twist happened on every other page. Not to mention the growing attraction between Galen and Gemma that simmers them sizzles.

I can't wait to read the next book in this series, 'Zack's Zest'. The tease at the end of this book was perfect.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

This is a fast action suspense with romance. Gemma goes to Germany to be with her younger sister (Rebecca) and niece (Becky) after Rebecca's husband was killed. Shortly after, someone tries to break into the house twice in one night. Gemma gets her family away before a third attempt is made. Rebecca doesn't want to leave she wants to stay home. While Gemma is filling the car with gas, Rebecca calls her old lover, Zack. Zack calls Levi back in the U.S. for help on this perplexing case. Galen is sent to help. Zack and Galen meet up with Gemma and Rebecca to help solve several mysteries and to keep the girls safe.

The details come in fast and furious. There are more and more questions to be answered and problems to be solved. I adored Becky and Gemma's relationship. I felt so heart-sick for young Becky as the mysteries start to resolve themselves. Gemma was truly a gem in this story. She was very intelligent, quick-witted and caring.

Who killed Joe and why? Did his murder (which was classified as a B&E gone wrong) have anything to do with the problems at the brewery where he worked? These questions and more kept me glued to my e-reader.

I loved the fact that this story was written in a dual POV format. There was so much going on here that I really appreciated the glimpse into the characters' thoughts to help me keep things from getting too muddled up in my mind.

If you adored a suspense filled romance, then you will want to read this one. While it is a part of a series, you really don't need to read the prior ones to understand this story.

There was a sexy scene but nothing over the top. The author really did a great job of alluding to more than was actually written. That being said though, I could only in good conscious recommend this to anyone over the age of 18.

Smart Sister

Any woman with an older sister knows that there are benefits to being younger… As the youngest of three sisters, I learned from both their mistakes and their victories, thus able to make better choices as I grew older. Yet, I was also left behind because they didn’t want younger me hanging out with more mature them. Having watched my older siblings be hurt by the catty things teenagers say and do to each other, I became adept at choosing and making a different kind of friends who were a little weird, but more adventurous and reliable whenever I needed help from people outside my family.

When the husband of Gemma’s older sister, Rebecca, is murdered at the beer company where he worked and then their home is broken into, Gemma realizes that Rebecca and her daughter, Becky, may also be in danger and hatches a plan to keep them safe. Galen, having just returned to the Legendary Securities compound in Texas from his assignment with Johann and Joy, is quickly assigned to go to Germany, meet up with coworker Zack, and rescue Rebecca and Becky, who have suddenly disappeared and are presumed to have been kidnapped by persons unknown. Gemma’s planning and organization skills, as well as the location and cohorts she chooses for their sanctuary, are not at all what I expected. When Galen finds them, even though they had never met before, he and Gemma recognize and respect the value of each other’s skills and work together to solve the problems that just keep coming at them. Great story line with lots of twists and turns.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is book 22 of the fantastic Heroes for Hire series and Dale Mayer has cleverly managed to make them all different whilst retaining all the well loved characters.
Galen Alrick arrived at the compound run by Ice and Levi, the the compound was made up of highly trained ex military personnel whose object was solving problems that only they could.
Galan's mission was to meet up with Zack in Germany where he would get his instructions,
Joe, a manager of one of the largest breweries in Germany had been found dead, the brewery was in trouble and Zack knew that Joe had been murdered. Joe had been unpopular because he was scrupulously honest and wouldn't turn a blind eye to crime in the workplace , there was another problem, Joe's wife Rebecca and their child had disappeared.
Zack and Rebecca had history and she had called him for help.
Rebecca's sister Gemma had spirited her sister and her beloved niece away in an attempt to hide them, but were they safe ? and who had murdered Joe ?.
This is a story of a self centred, high maintenance woman who will go to any lengths to get what she wants and her sensible but determined sister whose sole purpose was to keep them all safe and lastly a highly traumatized child who had heard and seen things that no child ever should.
As the body count escalates Galen and Zack need their wits about them but Galen still finds time to realize that he and Gemma have chemistry. Another great read full of twists and very unexpected turns.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Galen had planned to relax but when Levi asked him to help out Zack on a case set in a brewery he's game to escape the compound which is a bit too full of couples in love for him. When there with Zack he meets Gemma and her sister Rebecca who is the real reason the call for help was sent. Gemma had learnt a long time ago how to handle her sister and her niece. So when they both end up in deep trouble she drops everything and takes charge of the situation. However, it IS dangerous and she really needs help and although Galen wasn't what she had in mind, but he appears to be capable. What she certainly didn't expect was a situation that required focus due to the danger and the result which could be love at first sight.

This was a lovely story that was quite convoluted at times and a real mystery which only became clear at the very end. I like the feistiness of Gemma and the calm way that Galen handled whatever was thrown at him. There was plenty of action at times and throughout the story, there was the mystery of what happened and who did what to solve. The final conclusion will be surprising to the way the story started. I liked the way the story was written which was clear and easy to read and I enjoyed the mystery as I tried to figure out who did what. There is only sexual content at the very end of the story.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
