You gotta love Glenda and her witchy-math in these stories. And solving the problem with Brad being and ghost BUT not a ghost. Thanks to a grieving mother who cursed him 7 years ago when her daughter was killed in the car Brad was driving. It didn’t matter that it wasn’t Brad’s fault someone needed to be punished and Brad was it, as far as Adele was concerned.

The story was mainly about Grandpa Walter who everyone thought was crazy for having a make-believe friend when all along it was Brad that no one could see except Walter, until Glenda gave Hillary a pair of glasses, and suddenly Hillary could see that Brad wasn’t make-believe after all.

The rest of the story was trying to break the curse and seeing to it that 70 year old Grandpa had someone to take care of him so he wouldn’t have to go to an assisted living facility.

It was a really cute story.

No sex and no swearing. But not religious either.
Glenda is a witch and maker of improbable matches of lonely souls.
Second in a series, but a definite stand- a- lone. These stories are light romances, have magic, strong interesting, fun characters, a little mystery to solve and a feel good ending.
I've enjoyed the first two stories in this series and look forward to reading more.

I received an arc for an honest review.

The story was good, the romance not as much

As a love story with real feelings, believable emotions and enough truth to it to make me believe in a happily ever after, this falls severely short. I don't buy Hillary and Brad as a couple.

That said as an interesting story with unique, endearing characters and a page turning plot, it does really well. I liked Hillary, Walter and Brad. I enjoyed meeting Madeline, Smitty and Mary Margaret even though their characters weren't developed as much. I also liked the world. I feel like a lot more backstory should have been provided to meet all the goals this book was trying to accomplish as well as a longer timeline. Hillary only sees Brad 3 days before he's saved and all is well again. Had the events taken place over weeks or months I might have bought into them having real feelings for each other. And he doesn't really have a backstory because he's not even given a career or a reason he'd stay in Minnesota. We learn he liked sports and people and dated his high school sweetheart until he died. We don't learn anything else about him and neither does Hillary. His character isn't fleshed out enough to achieve the goals that Lawley is trying to accomplish in this book.

Overall I enjoyed it, but I feel like it could have been better.

Heartache in Heels

This story has lots of magic mixed with curses. Hillary's grandfather has started talking to an imaginary friend three years ago. She figured it was out of grief of looking his wife. But when she starts seeing Brad she has more questions than answers. They all three go out looking for answers. With the help of her own personal fairy godmother things are not so bleak. Now this is a fast read for me.

When Is a Ghost Not a Ghost

This is a fun book with ghost, witches, sceptics, and believers. Hillary, our protagonist, is a believer but isn't sure about what is going on with her grandad and his invisible friend Brad. The action is well paced with just enough humor to keep you entertained. If you like nice paranormal stories with a bit of romance you will probable enjoy this one. I know I did.

Great paranormal comedy romance. Hillary is a typically clueless woman. Brad is Gramp's imaginary friend. Madeleine runs Every Woman's Fairy Godmother. The comedy continues until it turns serious.

Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Funny. Happily Ever After. Page-turner. Romantic. Scary. Twisted. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Witty. Wonderful characters.

A really cute, easy to read book. There were somethings that got wrapped up as though it were an afterthought. It’s a little out there in terms of a story line but you want to solve the mystery and have a happy ending. This is a quick read so if you’re sitting around bored on the weekend and want something lighthearted, I could definitely recommend this!

This was a cute little read. There isn't much depth to it, and it isn't so much a romance as a fun little love story with a witch, fairy godmother, incorporeal bodies and a fun little love story. I read it in a day, and I enjoyed it. Not much else to say. I really liked all the characters in the book, and how it switched from Hillary and Brad's POVs.
