2 stars

Interesting story. Very simple, very little depth. At times, reminded be of a high schoolers writing. Predictable. Glad for KU. No money spent.

Liz's books

Although, her books are great for finding love, they are boring. There isn't any action, nor thrills. But, I have faith that she will add those things to her stories

I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review

Another great book by Liz.

Todd is a retired professional bull rider and God has sent him to Coral Canyon but he is not sure why. He doesn't know what he is going to do because his family doesn't live there anymore. He has a of bad memories from his childhood because it was all about preparing to be in the rodeo for him and his brother and doing all the chores while his sister didn't have to do anything.
Violet is the middle sister and one third of the singing trio The Everett Sisters. She always get ignored because Lily is the oldest and usually just says the way things will go and Rose is the youngest and whines until she gets her way. Violet is staying in Coral Canyon for a couple months after Lily marries Beau and they go on their honeymoon. She ends up taking care of Todd after he breaks both his legs when a horse is spooked and throws him. She and Todd start to get close but Todd's moods change from day to day. She is not a nurse and she has told him as much and researches online how to take care of him. A billionaire bull rider and the pretty country music singer he's boarding with...Can they make the best of a difficult situation and find love this Christmas?

Todd Christopherson has just retired from the professional rodeo circuit and returned to his hometown of Coral Canyon. Problem is, he's got no family there anymore, no land, and no job. Not that he needs a job--he's got plenty of money from his illustrious career riding bulls. But when his old friend, Graham Whittaker, offers him the opportunity to work on the ranch, Todd takes it.

The work comes with a place to stay at Whiskey Mountain Lodge, where a beautiful country singer, Violet Everett, is living as she works out some kinks in her career. The last thing Vi wants is a permanent resident at the lodge--it messes with her muse--but Todd is tall, handsome, and good in the kitchen. Besides, she doesn't own the lodge, so she doesn't really have a say about who stays there.

Then Todd gets thrown during a routine horseback ride up the canyon, and his only support as he recovers physically is Vi. She's no nurse, but she does the best she can for the handsome cowboy. Will she lose her heart to the billionaire bull rider? Can Todd trust that God led him to Coral Canyon...and Vi?

Sweet, clean romance. Sometimes in these quick read romances, I feel like the conflict of the story is a little contrived. Not so with this one. I could feel Todd's frustration with his unfortunate accident and slow recovery and his unresolved family problems. And I could feel Vi's sadness at being the one that Todd lashed out at. I could feel the pain in both of them.

There are multiple relationship stories going on in this book. We get the romance of Todd and Vi. And a relationship with a puppy. It could just be me but I think that the puppy had some symbolism for Todd and Vi's relationship. We also dealt with familial relationships. It seemed that Vi's family reacted in opposite ways with their success than Todd's family did. Her family was close where his family, sadly, seemed to be torn apart by their success.

I liked that as Todd tried to work out his issues that he didn't have to attack his parents with their faults but just simply found a way to forgive them even if they didn't understand what they were being forgiven for. And once he had resolved some of those things he could move forward with Vi.

No sex, language or violence

Continuing the Whittaker Brothers Novel series, Her Cowboy Billionaire Bull Rider Lis Isaacson gives us another visit to Coral Canyon. When bull rider Todd Christopherson decided to give up the rodeo life and go back to his childhood home in Coral Canyon he never expected for his life to become more exciting but surprises where right around the corner. Violet Everett was staying at the Whiskey Mountain Lodge while she figured out what she wanted to do with her life while her sister and new husband were on vacation. When two famous people ( a championship bull rider and a country music star) meet and realize they are staying in the same lodge, unchaperoned, and have to help each other, fireworks fly...or do they? Two legs in casts predicts a situation that could either make the two enemies or bring them together.

This was a good story with anger, hope, brokenness, honesty, and love. The main characters, Todd and Violet, are older, but neither have found "the one" for a lifetime commitment. Todd, a billionaire, retired bull rider, and Violet, a rich, country singing star, have both allowed other things take precedence to love. Can they ignore the spark between them at their first meeting at the lodge? It would be great to find a happy ever after, but with their baggage, dark fears, and family circumstances, it may be impossible. This story is a picture of tough love, honesty, hard work, determination, and forgiveness. I received a complimentary copy of this book and have chosen on my own to give an honest review.

Sing a Song the . . . Bull Riders!

Todd was a professional cowboys bull rider for 20 years and never broke a bone. Back in Coral Canyon for two days, he falls off the gentlest horse in the Lodge's cavy when it shies at two rattlesnakes, and breaks both legs.
Violet Everett, one of the famous singing trio called The Everett Sisters, is at the Lodge hiding from a boyfriend wouldn't take no for an answer, and she takes care of him.
It doesn't take long for them to fall in love, but Todd has a dark place inside him and she won't marry him until he has gotten rid of it. Isaacson does her usual good job of Todd working his way through forgiving those who, however unmeaningly, have wronged him.
Recommended for all readers of religious romance with a twist of wealth.
MARVELOUS SERIES
What do you do on a perfectly nasty, rainy, windy day (think scuba gear over hip waders for going outside ;-P) when you don’t have to go ANYWHERE? Especially when you have just downloaded ALL of the Christmas in Coral Canyon books onto your kindle app... =) You binge-read the entire series! I’ve fallen in love with all of the characters-their strong, and sometimes not so strong, faith, their care of family and the understanding that family isn’t always people with whom you are related. What started out as a dreary day, has be a joyous time of meeting ‘new friends’ and watching them grow in their faith and fall in love. *Sigh :) It’s been a LOVELY day!

One of the things I like the best about the Christmas in Coral Canyon books is the emotional depth portrayed in them. It was very easy to sense their emotions as Vi and Todd experienced them; worry, frustration, hope – a full spectrum of feelings to process. I love how realistically their relationship is presented to us. They’re both intrigued with one another, but there aren’t necessarily instant sparks. We get to witness Todd and Vi fall in love with one another and work through all the difficulties that come with trying to blend your life with that of another person. I look forward to my next visit back to Coral Canyon.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
