And it's the man with whom she shares a mutual antagonistic relationship, Spencer, that rescues her. So now that the two are stuck in Spencer's home riding out the blizzard, will their attraction consume them? What about the fact that Spencer's entrenched in a lifestyle that Meghan has no real knowledge of, and may not be able to fit into, even though she wants to?<br><br>I really liked <i>His Secret Love</i> with one exception. Spencer treats Meghan horribly near the end, and yet it's Meghan who ends up apologizing first. That's really not acceptable, especially in their lifestyle. But, aside from that, I found it to be an entertaining, sexy story between two characters with great chemistry.<br><br><i>ARC via Booksprout for an honest review.</i>

Meghan slides into a ditch due to a sudden snow storm and gets rescued by Spencer. Spenser brings Meghan to his home close by and they spend a few days isolated by the storm, learning about their interest in each other that both have kept a secret from each other. Meghan is innocent of the BDSM lifestyle but wants to learn and Spencer, the owner of Cuffs and Spurs BDSM Club is more than willing to introduce her to and teach her about submission with his dominance. I loved this story about two very independent people that really want to rely on the other for needs they really didn't want to admit to. Another winning addition to the Cuffs + Spurs series.

Readers of the <i>Cuffs and Spurs</i> series have known that Meghan and Spencer were going to end up together since book one of the series, and finally, in book 7, their story gets told. The two have been antagonistic to each other since the beginning, so watching their romance bloom is really touching. Yes, Spencer is sometimes a complete jerk, and Meghan is so worried about becoming mentally ill like her mother that she needs therapy anyway, but they work together. <br /><br />In a lot of BDSM romances, the alpha Dom male acts like an ass, and then the sub heroine forgives him with little problem or fanfare. Spencer faces consequences for his actions. He breaks one of the cardinal rules of BDSM, and punishes Meghan when he's angry (way out of proportion) and she leaves him for it. He actually suspends himself from the club he owns, before asking her for her forgiveness. He breaks the rules and faces the consequences, and she eventually forgives him so they can live happily ever after.

FEELING LIKE ALICE AFTER SHE FOLLOWED THE RABBIT DOWN THE HOLE<br /><br />The seventh book in the Cuff and Spurs saga will read as a stand-alone. While the BDSM club, Cuffs, and Spurs will have a role in the story, it is more around the lives of several key people that work or plays in the club. The story is roughly two years after Carter and Jenna meet up in Wyoming and will involve the first encounter of Meghan Mallory and Spencer Collins. <br /><br />The story will have Meghan not watching the weather and out collection soil samples, so engrossed in her research work that she will be caught in a snowstorm, her car will slide off into a ditch and two hours later none other than Spencer Collins will rescue her. These two just seem to rub each other wrong, with snarky and snide comments. But, Meghan will find herself at his mercy, at his cabin. What neither knows is that they each harbor a strong attraction for the other.<br /><br />The story will include a seduction by Meghan that leads to the introduction of Meghan by Spencer into a D/s BDSM lifestyle—but it is all talked about as an arrangement, with no commitment. While Meghan is friends with many submissives, she is somewhat naïve on the actual dynamics of the relationship.<br /><br />“Submission is about more than just sex,” he went on. “That’s part of it, to be sure. But true submission means you trust me enough to grant me full control over you, your pleasure, your punishment, your being.”<br /><br />The story is very emotional, and you can’t help but have empathy for what Spencer feels will keep him from knowing and experiencing love with his eight years in the service, and the guilt he feels for doing what had to be done, plus having PTSD. Meghan fears she will be like her mother who took her own life and is afraid to commit to a relationship. So two people, who each are in love with one another, keep that a secret—not being honest with themselves and the other person who matters. <br /><br />The story has mystery, personal demons, fears from the past, and a breakdown in communication. It also shows that Doms are human and make mistakes, and that forgiveness is available. The story has explicit sex scenes, a couple entering a BDSM relationship, with scenes at a BDSM club, exhibition, and voyeurism, along with some mild bondage. It is about trust and honesty and moving forward. <br />

I thought it was so interesting that Spencer seemed to be much angrier in this book than in any of the previous books. Maybe because he was trying so hard not to want Meghan.<br /><br />Spencer and Meghan spent a lot of time verbally sparring, and fought their attraction until they were forced together. They spent so much time trying to hide their relationship, and there was a significant lack of trust going on. <br /><br />It was pointless of them to try and hide it because it seemed like everyone either knew or had their suspicions. I was also a little surprised at how they resolved the issue that caused Spencer to behave like he did in the club.<br /><br />This was not one of my favorites in the series. I couldn't get into Meghan's character, and it seemed to me like Spencer's character was different from what I had come to expect..

A very steamy and hot book about a Dom and his sub.<br />Such a amazing book with great characters that will keep you reading to the end.<br /><br />I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through Booksprouts arc.<br /><br /><br />Meghan had started out early to collect her samples before the weather system came in. But, the system came in early and she was on the highway in a whiteout. She was in a ditch and the car wouldn’t move so she was trying to make a decision to sit in the car or walk up the road. All of a sudden she gets a rap on her window and she realizes it is Spencer a thorn in her side. Spencer takes her to his house that was closer than going into town but she is not happy. Her body tells a different story she can not believe how he makes her feel. Spencer couldn’t believe all the naughty scenes he played in his mind that he had to keep in check.Meghan started to work on her computer when Spencer came in and asked her what she was working on which was climate change. Spencer really wanted Meghan but he held his restraint. Meghan on the other hand wanted him just as much so she devise a plan to break his resistance. She tells him that she knows about his kink so she wasn’t going into this blindly. Things get heated and Meghan is finally seeing the wall she built around herself was crumbling. Meghan was going to learn about the meaning of letting go she scened with him in his private dungeon. Meghan had to leave since they made a bargain so he got up and told her to get dressed her brother in law was coming to pick her up. Meghan was really hurt she thought that he would ask her to stay.Meghan was trying to get over Spencer so she went out with a colleague <br />Ben who took her to Cuffs and Spurs for their chicken wings. She didn’t like being there but she had no choice. Spencer sees her and walks up to Meghan and her date. Meghan and Spencer get together for a real date and he asked her to be with him to extend their agreement. Meghan put up her walks a little and told him she was not ready to make that decision.Her biggest fear is that she would turn into her mother so she was scared she didn’t know how Spencer would take it if she told him. Things are progressing slowly and he took her to the club. Spencer got upset when he overheard Meghan talking to her sister about leaving to go to school in Laramie. When he took her downstairs he was angry but she realized something was up as they went into the main room. Spencer humiliated <br />her when he put her on the bull. Meghan could not believe how cruel he was to her. He tried to explain to her how he felt and was sorry but she would not listen at all. Twists, turns, redemption and love. <br />

Spencer had loved her since the first day she gave him a piece of his mind!<br />Megan loved her sister, Jenna had given up so much to raise her and to care for their father after their mother’s long illness and eventual suicide, she had gone without so much enabling her to achieve her dream and attend college and gain her degree. Jenna had never considered herself first she had worked extra jobs so that they had enough money to eat ensuring that they all had everything they needed to keep a roof over their heads Megan had wanted to stay close when she eventually found the love, Carter her overly protective and extremely in love husband and now she has her amazing nephew whom she could not possibly love more even if her was her own.<br />Spencer has been in love with Megan since the day she had faced off against him in his best friends kitchen, she was so full of tenacity and attitude he could feel the energy from the other side of the room, she was a spitfire and she was not in the slightest bit afraid of him or his attitude, in fact he was sure that she would spit in his eye given half a chance and “Man, did he love her for it, she was as sexy as Hel!!.<br />As Spencer and Megan begin a relationship she agrees to be his sub a lifestyle she has no experience in however for this man she is prepared to accept what is an all important part of himself, she already loves him he finds that his demons begin to quieten and then in a moment of mis-understanding an overheard conversation it all blows up in his face and their prospective happiness crashes and burns around them both. <br />As the storm rages around them, they surrender to their passions and now in the maelstrom that has become their reality they both are now simply existing from day to day, in steps their best friend and Jenna and Carter who help them to see the error caused by misunderstanding and heartache and they know that they have to speak with each other to discuss exactly what has happened, be honest and declare their love and their fears if they are possibly going to stand a chance?<br />Can they both open themselves up that much, can love conquer all?<br />Read this wonderful book by Anya Summers, in this she bravely deals with mental health and the characters that she writes about have their own demons, the actual plot was also so very well written that once you begin reading you will not be able to put this wonderful book down.<br />I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy<br />I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.<br />

There’s so much to like about His Secret Love. This is another cabin romance in Summers’ Cuffs and Spurs series, as Meghan and Spencer are actually snowbound together for the first third of this book. And it gives these two, who’ve been sparring for some time, the opportunity to act on their underlying simmering interest in one another. The rest of His Secret Love deals with Meghan and Spencer bringing their relationship into the open, with one another and with their friends, in all the ways that entails.<br /><br />And a large part of that is Spencer’s lifestyle as a dom. He unabashedly expects Meghan to take part in that life because it’s intrinsic to who he is. But Meghan has professional aspirations and personal issues that she has to confront to do so, while Spencer has demons of his own to address.<br /><br />I really loved Meghan and Spencer as characters. Meghan is driven, ambitious, and yet also insecure. Spencer shares that insecurity, though it’s buried deep under his alpha personality. Cabin romances be definition have that marvelous, intense focus, and His Secret Love doesn’t slouch in that territory, using that to hone in on all of Meghan and Spencer’s issues.<br /><br />So what made this a four-star rather than five-star read for me? (Minor spoilers here.) I was frustrated in Spencer’s assumption that Meghan would go along with his lifestyle without much of a discussion about this. And unfortunately, Spencer does something late in the book that is completely wrong for a dom to do. He realizes that he needs to apologize, and I realized I needed a Big Grovel from him. Instead, Meghan focuses on a relatively minor error she made and apologizes first to him. That took away from his need to really own up to his error—instead, it became almost a reaction to her action, and that lack of independent admission of his failure really bothered me. <br /><br />But this is still a great read in Summers’ Cuffs and Spurs books, and an excellent addition to a series keeps getting richer and more interesting.<br />
