Loving Deep by Tracey Devlyn is a 2016 Kicksass publication.

A compelling contemporary romance that gives a nod to wildlife convervation with little ‘paying it forward’ thrown in for good measure.

When Randi’s mother, Barbara, dies, she learns that Britt Steele would have first right of refusal if Randi chose to sell the land she inherited. However, Barbara did not cross all the I’s or dot all the T’s, so Randi, who desperately needs the money to keep her business afloat, can sell the land to the highest bidder, and as it so happens there are a few people very interested in acquiring this prime piece of land…. Trophy hunters.

Britt and Barbara came to their agreement to save the red wolf pack on the land, to help keep them from becoming extinct. Once Randi learns the reason why Britt wants the land, the two begin some pretty tough negotiations, which sparkles and crackles with hot, but turbulent chemistry.

I enjoyed this book for many reasons. I love the idea of preserving wildlife, and applaud anyone who dedicates their time and energy to such a worthy effort. I also abhor trophy hunting, so the bad guys in this book, helped draw attention to such a boastful waste, and paints such activity in the light in which it should be shown.

Naturally, there is some conflict between Britt and Randi. Both characters had parental issues, but Britt was more flawed, I think, and he had problems with trust, but he does grovel nicely.

Overall, I was proud of Randi for standing up for herself, for forgiving Britt, and I enjoyed watching Britt stand up and show Randi what he was made of, and seeing him finally get the chance to do something for himself now with the help of his grateful siblings and Randi. There is also a gentle message that reminds us to make time for things we want to do, need to do, or should do, because life can change on a dime. Good advice!

Overall, this is a solid contemporary romance with just the right amount of angst, and steamy romance as well as having an adventurous quality to it that was different and a nice change of pace.
4 stars
Loving Deep by Tracey Devlyn was a surprise for me. The story has Devlyn’s fantastic storytelling, detailed plot, as well as interesting and endearing characters but the plot was not one I expected loving.

I admit that when I first started reading this I wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy it. I love all of Devlyn’s other stories and I trust her writing so I wanted to read Loving Deep. It’s just that the subject matter isn’t something that would typically spark my interest. However, it was the hero, Britt that made me love what he was passionate about. His quirkiness with Randi but his love for animals is so completely endearing. Randi is a good match for him in that she understood his passion and was a reasonable, independent woman who sees him for what he is, bad moods, overreactions and all.

Randi and Britt’s relationship was a rocky one, though. She was wary of getting involved with someone similar to her mom – someone who hurt her many times growing up. In a change of roles it was Britt that was the unreasonable one most of the time and Randi was level headed. Britt put his foot in his mouth often too. I wondered how Randi could stand to forgive him sometimes. It made their romance different and exciting because I never knew how a situation would play out. Britt and Randi’s story is one that will leave you with a happy and joyful heart when you finish the book.

Leave it to Devlyn to provide us with a unique suspense story. And she sure can write evil villains. At first the bad guys are shown as polished and upper class which makes you assume they are above certain things, but at the end of the book, you see their true colors. I couldn’t believe the evil that lurked under their fancy clothes and money.

There is a lot more I would love to tell you about Loving Deep, but you need to go read it for yourself. It is a wonderful story that will provide you with hours of entertainment. It brings together the Steele family for one of their biggest adventures yet. While I have read these books a bit out of order and they can be read on their own, I think the experience is best when they are read in order.

If you are looking for a romantic suspense story that combines a fresh plot, realistic romance, and a family that will support you with no questions asked, give Loving Deep a read.
Loving Deep by Tracey Devlyn is the fourth book of her Steele Ridge Series. This is my first book by the author and I read it as a stand alone, but I think reading them in order would be a good idea so that the full stories of the Steele brothers and their women. It's a solid 4.8 star book and I highly recommend reading this book.

Britt Steele is the eldest of the brothers and his biggest mission right now is to protect the Red Wolf packs and their pups. They mean that if he can keep them alive to adulthood their survival means that their species could come back from extinction. But first he has to make sure no one buys the Barbara Shepherd's land which is adjacent to his sanctuary. It will take every dollar he has and then some to protect the wolf pack and their pups. But it won't be easy and he'll have to fight men whose whole life is to be the best hunter there is and they want the Red wolves.

Miranda "Randi" Shepherd needs money to keep her business, Blues, Brews, and Books, going and if she has to sell her late mother's land to the highest bidder then that's what she'll do. But she doesn't know about the wolves and that the Carolina Club is really a group of ruthless men who hunt for sport. But first she has to find her mother's lawyer, make her payroll, and fight off her attraction to Britt Steele.

It will take the entire Steele family to take down hunters who only want a trophy, A multi billionaire game developer brother, the women who love the Steele Brother, Sheriff Maggie and a paint ball gun toting mother to save the wolves and help Britt and Randi realize that their love is worth saving. I loved the book and will try to find the other books so that I can read them.

I received a copy of Loving Deep from Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review

The stories just keep getting better and better as the Steele Ridge series continues. This fourth book in the series layers upon the previous books to bring Britt's story to the forefront. Up until now, he has maintained a low profile, taking care of the family in their father's stead, but within this story his personality, drive and passion reaches out to snare you. Ms Devlyn has created a character that literally captures your heart. You feel his burning desire to protect nature from the evil that walks on two legs. You also feel his devastation when he feels helpless to do what needs to be done for that protection to be put into place, but Britt is a protector, he does what needs to be done, at all cost.

This author shows her gift for writing through the depth and dynamics of her characters...from Jonah's deep focus on his gaming technology one minute, to the hilarity of his exercising his rich snootiness to gain information the next, the humor is subtle, but laugh out loud funny at the same time. There is a deeper message layered within the story...Family. How Ms Devlyn has been able to capture the nuances of familial dynamics was truly heartwarming. As with the previous books of Grif and Reid's stories, the wry, witty banter between the siblings is flying, their deep Southern upbringing keeping the boys afraid of making their mama mad! When mama Steele welds a paint gun to teach Reid to never yell at a lady, the laughing was explosive.

Hopefully Jonah, the baby billionaire's story is up next...that book cannot come soon enough.

This book was provided by the Publisher and Netgalley, I voluntarily have provided my honest review.

Loving Deep (Steele Ridge #4) by Tracey Devlyn
3.5 stars
M/F Romance, mystery
Triggers: Hunting, murder
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

This book was somewhat hard for me. Randy is a city girl who left the country when her mother dedicated more of her life to conservation than to her family. There are unanswered questions regarding Randy's issues with her mother throughout the book.

Then you have Britt. He's kind of gruff around the edges, but he has a large heart. When he realizes that the red wolves that he has been protecting might be hunted to extinction, he will stop at almost nothing to protect them.

The tension between Britt and Randy begins when Randy's mom dies - she was supposed to will the land that the red wolves were inhabiting to Britt. Because of the financial pickle that Randy finds herself in - she starts to entertain other bids... what she realizes is that someone wants her land and will stop at almost nothing to obtain it.

The wolves are what really hold this story together, but the Steele family is also fun to watch too. They pull together and fight the good fight.

I had a difficult time with how Britt treated Randy throughout the story - I thought he was cold and callous - she seemed mostly convenient to him and not like he truly cared. Their relationship seemed very superficial - there was very little chemistry between the two, besides annoyance.

Overall, this was just an OK story. It had a lot of potential, but for me, just fell a little flat.
Britt and Randi – wow – what a story!

Britt is the oldest of the Steele brothers and has always been there for the family. He works hard as a handy-man but in so doing he has put some of his dreams on hold indefinitely. When he returns from a conference he finds out that his mentor has died, the land he thought would be his someday may not be his after all and the woman he has an interest in holds much of his future in her hands. With an endangered species at risk he feels he must find a way to get his hands on the land that Randi now owns.

Randi runs Blues, Brews and Books – a multi-purpose establishment – that has done well but may go under if a solution is not found. With her mother’s many acres of land to sell she sees a way to save what she loves. With an offer on the table for the land will she sell to a group that might or might not be on the up and up or will she wait for Britt to purchase her mother’s land.

With trouble in the wings the Steele family and their friends come together to save the day and while they do so Britt and Randi explore the potential of a future together.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it will not be my last. The story was well crafted and definitely worth the read. It makes sense without reading the other books in the series BUT the bits and pieces shared about the rest of the Steele family do make me want to read the rest of the books in this series.

Thank you to the author for the copy of this book. This is my honest review.

4.5 Stars
This book might just be my favorite from the Steele Ridge Series so far. I absolutely love the story line on this on.
Britt is on of those strong quiet types. He loves nature and spends most of his time out in the woods keeping an eye on a wolf pack that should by all rights not be around that area. He has been documenting the wolf pack with his mentor but when events take a turn for the worse, the wolf pack is threatened and Britt will not stand still for that.
Randi's mom had always spent most of her time outdoors caring for injured animals or keeping an eye on the health of local wildlife. Randi shared the same passion until she realized that her mom seemed to care more about those animals than her.
Randi was now the owner of Blues , Brews and Books and was busy most of the time, so when she finds out that her recently deceased mom has left her property Randi is shocked, and not really all that pleased. Randi had grown to hate the outdoors.
When Randi, goes for a hike to check out the property and bumps into Britt, things couldn't be more awkward, until Britt brings up her mothers will and advises her to read the details. It seems Britt thinks her mom left the land to him.
This book starts out with action and doesn't really stop. It is full of twists and turns, action, suspense and just a the right amount of romance.
