This was quite the steamy little love story….When Haji saw Chinara around the city, he fell in love with her beauty. Chinara had a lot going on and hit a rough patch in her life, but it was Haji to the rescue….although, Chinara was reluctant to allow him to help….Finally setting her pride aside, she allowed this man to help her with no strings, and in return she assisted him with something and the two fell hard for each other. This was a very steamy story, but it was a story of love.

Not for me.
I appreciate this book is multiracial but I couldn't get into the writing style.
She a fine muthafucka,” I said to my friend, Jarius.
“Hell yeah. You gon’ holla?”
“Naw. Not today. I met this woman earlier, so I wanna see what she talking ’bout first.”
“What if you don’t see her again, nigga?”

I was motor oil black when I got here. That shit didn’t matter, though. They loved my height of six-feet-three inches and, not to mention, all this African dick I was slanging. Just like guys talked about their conquest, so did the ladies.

I just couldn't get into it at all.

Really enjoyed this story. It really made me wish for Pretty Black skin because I swooned every single time Haji called Chinara by that pet name.
I listened to this on audio and I enjoyed it so much I downloaded the e copy to read. It moved fast paced, but not so much that the story didn't make sense. It was funny, down to earth relatable and the dialogue was realistic.
And the spice was #chefskiss.

A marriage of convenience between two people who fell for each other almost from the get go. He did have sex with another woman after meeting her, but not after they started sleeping together.

Great Read!!!

This was such a good read. Who would have know that a temporary agreement would turn into forever. I think Haji and Chinara were a cute couple. Haji was definitely book bae and I’m glad he stepped up and helped Chinara even when she was too stubborn to accept it. I’m also glad that Haji’s dad made amends with him even in death, and he reconciled with his adopted brother Kevin. This was a great read.

This book was so amazing. I really wish it was a trilogy or something that’s how much I enjoyed the characters. But the ending was still perfect.

WOWWW. It also took me so long to finish this book because I kept looking up/listening to the songs mentioned and so I definitely added that Apple Music playlist to go along with this novel.

This was a masterpiece... I know the author said that it was the type of story where the characters fall in love very quickly. And yes that’s true but the story was written in such a way that it genuinely didn’t even feel like that, those two were meant for each other in every single way possible, despite the unconventional way they got together.

5/5 stars and this book is definitely one that I’ll probably re read down the line.

Just...wow!

What can't Monica write? I mean this was beautiful! I love a good, sexy insta-story. Haji and Chinara belonged with each other! The timing was right, just perfect between them. You'd be crazy to not read this, Monica never disappoints!

?????

This joint right here was so hot, the pages were burning! Haji is the man! I’ve been so engrossed in Nigerian, Ghanaian and South African culture for the past four months that this book felt like I was at home. I love how our heritage was on full display. I love how proud they were of their deep melanin skin. The cherry on top was the freak nasty stuff Haji did to Chinara. Let me go fan myself! Thinking about it got me hot!
