This was a really sweet book. I loved the story, the wedding planner business and the fact James & Rebecca have been friends for years. Unrequited love though, that’s hard times....

Not in the Plan is a well-written second chance romance that is an absolute delight to read. Here's one short example: “Ian, you have to prevent this from happening. Imagine this is a runaway train and a bus filled with orphans is stuck on the track. Stop this train before everyone dies.” This horrible fate that Rebecca is telling her brother to stop is he and his fiance using the wedding planner that she works for.
Rebecca and Jay are very likable characters and get their HEA in the end. Rachel John moves the story along with fun twists and turns and humorous situations. I highly recommend this story to clean romance readers and hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this romance.

Great second chance story! Rebecca is surprised to find out her new boss is Jay, her former best friend. She dumped him to make her then-fiance happy, only to realize that she had "broken up" with the wrong guy... and let the right guy get away. Jay isn't excited to find out that his new assistant is the girl who broke his heart all those years ago, and he doesn't make things easy for her at first.

A wonderful sweet romance set in the world of event planning. A story of best friends, unrequited love, and second chances. This was sweet, witty, and so funny at times. I was rooting for Jay and Rebecca from page one.

Another fun book by Rachel John

I enjoyed this book. Good addition to this series. (Though all books are standalone.) I liked Rebecca and Jay. Thought the story flowed pretty well. Thought there were some cute parts though I wish there had been a few more fun flirty parts. Also wish the "proposal" would have been different. Liked the cookie dough part. Wish it hadn't resolved so slowly. I mean it's not a long book but the ending felt a little abrupt to me. Overall an enjoyable read though.

Another great story from Rachel John!

I love how Rachel John takes well known romance tropes, and makes them believable. Her characters are like real people, and they don't do too-stupid-to-live things to drag out the story & artificially increase the page numbers.

It was a little frustrating how long it took Jay & Rebecca to quit misreading each other, though their reasoning was mostly plausible. I did love how it built up to the big dramatic - and hilarious - reveal. The happily-ever-after was almost anticlimactic after that, lol, but did make it a very satisfying conclusion.

Clean romance level: sweet kisses

Irritating as all get-out

Had the makings of great second-chance romance...loved each other (in different ways) years ago. Reconnected ten years later. He still loves her, she realizes she loves him, too.
And here we go. He gets close to her, misinterprets her reaction, and backs off. She misinterprets that, and SHE backs off.
Now, repeat that scenario 11,000 times, and maybe more. I’m not sure. It made one too many trips around that same pond for me. I gave up and lost interest at the 60% point. A shame, too. It could have been great.

Not in the Plan

Not in the Plan - Rebecca's excited to start a new job as a wedding planner. What she didn't expect was to find her new boss is someone from her past. Jay was her best friend in college but when her fiance decided that their friendship must end, she reluctantly said goodbye. For Jay, that took a piece of his heart. A decade has not diminished his deep feelings for Rebecca. She realizes what she lost when they parted. Can they ignore their feelings and remain professional in a profession that's all about happily ever afters?

5 stars
I purchased a copy of Second Chance With You book 3:Not in the Plan by Rachel John and this review was given freely.
Estranged best friends Rebecca and Jay are reunited by chance in this workplace and friends to more romance where everyone including Rebecca seam to like Jay. The story with a happy ending is easy flowing, ironic, and at times humorous.

Wedding planners meet lost loves

Rachel John wrote Rebecca and Jay’s story with passion and love. I enjoyed this well written romance with family work issues converging. Life is a intertwined mixture of crazy nuts and misconceptions people have about happiness. Read to find out how communication and truth bring into the light true love.
