Check out more of my reviews at www.bookaddicthaven.com

Preppy is back, but he isn't the same Preppy that we've grown to love over the course of the 'King' series. His time in captivity has really done a number on him. After everything he endured, it is nothing short of a miracle that he managed to survive...and surviving is exactly what he's doing, no more.

When Dre seeks closure, she never imagined that she'd find Preppy alive. So much for saying "goodbye" and making her peace. She is immediately taken back to their time together, even if she'd rather forget the heartache that he left her with.

As Preppy begins to heal physically, he is plagued by the psychological after-effects of the torture. While all of his closest friends want him to face his issues, he wants nothing more than to escape from the pain. He loses himself in drugs and alcohol, racing to the bottom.

The only time that Preppy is able to find any peace is when he is with Dre. She has a calming affect on him. Despite the pain he's caused her, she still can't seem to give up on him. She does her best to keep him at arms-length, but as always, he manages to creep into her heart.

At times, I did find myself scratching my head over details related to the timeline of some events. It just didn't seem to add up for me, but I could have been mis-reading something. At one point, Preppy's captivity is said to have been for a few months. Yet at other points in the story, it was implied that he didn't know about the kids that Doe and King had. He was also clueless to the fact that Bear had entered into a serious relationship and Thia was now "huge" in her pregnancy, which wouldn't happen until the third trimester. So, I was a little confused as to how he could have missed so much if he'd only been away for "months". Again, maybe I mis-read something along the way. I'll have to go back and re-read this at some point to clarify.

If you're a fan of this series, like I am, expect to enjoy this book. I have been a big fan of Preppy from the start, so it was hard to meet this broken version of the usually boisterous character that I love so much. However, things are looking up for Preppy.

That being said, I continue to be perplexed by the number of typos and grammatical errors that make it into the published versions of this author's works. I'm not sure if there is a big rush to meet deadlines, or what else might be contributing. However, the editing needs some work. Simple mistakes like using the word "your" when the word should be "you're" or typos like "phon" in place of "phone" are sprinkled throughout the book. It was distracting at times and does take away from the story.

Given that the story itself is so fantastic, which takes a lot of talent on the part of the author, it is a shame to see basic editing oversights and technicalities mess with it. I'm no grammar expert myself, but there should be a few grammar experts on the team of this best-selling author, in my opinion. Her work is incredible and I hate to see it not live up to it's potential because of such elementary mistakes.

Even with the editing oversights, this was a highly enjoyable book. It does end with another cliffhanger, so expect to be waiting anxiously for part 3 of Preppy's story. I will be sure to buy it as soon as it is released.

4 Stars!!

He’s back…

“You were never a law follower either but I never expected you to not listen to the laws of nature. You know. Life and death and all that. Most people don’t come back from that.”

“I’m not most people.”

“That I know.”

After reading the first book of Preppy’s, I couldn’t wait to read this one. Now that I have- I’m dying for the final book in Preppy’s trilogy. It’s one of those reads that leaves you wanting so much more!!

In the first book, we mostly got the back story of Preppy and Dre. They were together, then they were apart for quite some time. Because Preppy was ‘dead’ and all. Now Preppy is back, and Dre is back in town. Preppy and Dre have both been through so much during their time apart. While Preppy’s was more extreme, Dre getting clean and staying that way was no picnic. I really loved how real this book felt throughout reading it. Preppy was less care-free and funny (he still had his moments- not to worry) and was more trying to find himself after all he’d been through. Trying to figure out life now, life with Dre.

“I was lost,” I said, breathlessly, not exactly sure what I was trying to say, although Dre seemed to understand. She gripped my arm tighter. “You were, but I found you.”
I love the way Dre and Preppy found each other, saved each other… they were made for each other. Preppy is one of those unique characters that you can’t help but love. I’ve loved him in every book he’s been in, but more than anything- I loved seeing this side of him. It felt so real and raw, and not in an over the top or gritty type of way that we’re used to with TM’s books. This book felt much more emotional then some of the others in the series and I loved that about it. You gotta know it ends on a hellava cliffhanger, but no big shock there. I’ll just be over here dying waiting for the next one… no worries ;)

Preppy and Dre have a one of a kind and unforgettable love story. I adore both of their characters. TM’s writing is as addicting and gripping as always. It was great to catch up with the gang at Logan’s beach. I love all these characters and I can’t wait for more!

Because my name is Samuel Clearwater, and I take orders from no one. Not even death ”

In Preppy: The Life and Death of Samuel Clearwater, Part Two, T.M. Frazier once again hooks readers to really see that Dre and Preppy had to really go on their separate ways in order for them to really grow up and become the stronger individuals that they are. For Dre, she had to get her life back on track. And for Preppy, he finally saw the truth. He had a family that had his back and loved him flaws and all including, Dre. While this installment took on a more gritty emotional undertone, I loved it and understood T.M. Frazier reasoning on why Dre and Preppy’s story couldn’t be completed in this second installment. Individually and together we had to see the journey and growth of this couple. I will just say I will never get tired of these cast of fictional characters that Frazier has created. She allowed us to see flawed, broken, damaged, and vulnerable characters who were able to cast off the darkness in their lives and take reign. All there is left to say, are you ready for more suspenders, bow ties, and the smart dirty mouth of Samuel Clearwater and his beloved Doc? If so, be prepared to get lost in Frazier's gritty and emotional prose as she holds you hostage with not only her words but her characters.

 <a href="https://goodreads.com/author/show/5769238.T_M__Frazier" title="T.M. 4.5 Stars

We pick up right where we left off. Preppy is trying to come out of his coma. When he finally awakens things are different and he's missed out on a lot. Even though Preppy is awake he's just going through the motions and something is missing. And that missing piece is Dre.

Dre is clean and sober and trying to help her father out after everything he's done for her. After some doubts and insecurity they reconnect but Preppy is still having trouble dealing with his ordeal. Preppy refuses to talk or even think about what he went through. He's living but he's not alive.

This book also showed a different side of Preppy. I'm used to the comedic relief he provided in King. Now we see a broken down and fragile version of Samuel Clearwater. We also witness Dre this time around fixing him after he saved her in their first encounter. I loved how they are both able to heal and save each other.

What I also loved about this book was the growth of the characters. Preppy and Dee have both through some horrible stuff and their characters matured in this story. I'm a big fan of character growth and Frazier nailed it! I must say that ending just about killed me! I now see why they call you the Evil Ginger! I need the final book and I need it yesterday!!!

*an arc was given for an honest review*

For more reviews check me out at: http://www.shellysbookcorner.com

I found the circumstances in this installment to be more intense because I feared that Preppy and Dre might not be able to overcome the distance and pain between them. Although the primary emphasis is on Preppy and Dre, the supporting characters continue to enhance the overall story as they act as an ensemble driving the action. The intimacy between Preppy and Dre is raw, rough, and so so sexy! Out of all of the characters in this series, I believe Preppy and Dre are my favorite due to the complex relationship they share. The story arc is well developed, and although I was quite frustrated with the amount of time it took for Preppy to make things right, I recognize that he remains true to his character and does everything in his own way and in his own time!

Preppy Part 2 is an absolute must read for T.M. fans or readers looking for a sexy hero with no impulse control and an overabundance of energy. And maybe I was just tired of being fucking tired.

Back to LIFE. Back to POSSIBILITY.

Preppy is just an amazing character, seriously this guy from day one has been my FAV of the bunch. Super sweet, funny, sexy and cute! To see the tables turn between Doc and Preppy was just the perfect segue into their second chance at life and at love. Preppy just makes you want to wrap him up in a BIG hug and never let go. The whole story line was perfect, it was sad yet the lingering light of hope was never too far off, making it not quite so heavy. Preppy would never allow it to be too serious.

I can't believe this is the 6th book in the King series, and there is more to come. It's a series built on family and love, ride-or-die relationships that just makes the bond between Preppy, Doc, King, Bear, Doe and Ti special in their own way. Preppy and Dre has come along way, I can't wait for the final book in their chapter, because where this ended, I can't even imagine where the story will go. I've been racking my brain, feeling like I missed something big... I guess I'm gonna have to wait and see, I just know they deserve the HEA, ASAP!

Copy kindly provided by the author, via *Sixty First Reads*, for an honest review.

***Quotes above are taken from the version of the book I received and may differ from published edition.
I couldn't put it down as soon as I started and I never stopped wanting more, even now.

In this book you'll see Preppy and Dre go though an incredible about of pain and extreme sadness as Preppy tries to find himself after the horrific amount of torture he endured in the darkness but it's not an easy thing for him to do, he pushes the ones he loves fearing he's not good enough and it's heartbreaking.

Whilst I want to give a more detailed review I ain't spoiling this bad boy for anyone so just know it will BLOW YOUR DAMN MIND. Awesome story, but I’m glad it’s not finished!

I still want more Preppy even after this book, so I am glad there is one more. And true to the rest of the series, there is a a fantastic cliffhanger that sets up the next book and leaves you wondering what the heck is going on.

This book is all about Preppy getting better after being starved nearly to death and tortured for months and months by sadistic and psychotic Chop. Dre shows up at King’s place to get some closure since she is still unable to deal with Preppy’s death only to find that he is alive but in bad shape.

Prep has a terrible time with PTSD and Dre is still angry with him for cutting her out of his life and throwing her away. So they have a lot to deal with. But Prep is awesome so the book is awesome. I loved it!

Blog|Goodreads|Facebook|Instagram|Twitter|BookBub

Dre goes in search of closure and finds herself face to face with her past. I found this book to be a little different from the rest but not any less interesting. It takes the internal conflict that Preppy is feeling at being back after an involuntary absence and really brings it to the forefront. The concept can be applied to other scenarios in real life, not necessarily in the same context that Preppy experienced, so I liked that it was addressed at all and more so how it was executed.

The book is an emotional perspective into a man that is far from perfect but has so much to offer in his charmingly flawed ways of his. King, Bear and their ladies continue to be a pivotal part of Preppy's story and I enjoyed the portrayal of the relationships in their complexities.

Safety: There is rape. The MCs were with others during their separation but not after they reconnected.
