Picked this up on a free or 99c promo and pleasantly suprised.

Although it hits all the required tropes-- broody alpha-hole billionaire, gritty working woman who really needs the money, group of the heroes friends for the next in series, and Cinderella goes to the ball -- Primal Bargain has a fresh take on all of it that keeps the pages turning. Although Wolfe could be interchanged with many similar broody billionaires, Tess is interesting enough to carry the story.

3.5 stars rounded to 4 because Tess does her homework and knows all about Wolfe and his associates before showing up for the first meeting.

Romantic Suspense has NEVER looked Sooo Good!

I found this to be a superb storyline that grabs you right from the start keeping you engrossed and on edge throughout the whole book!

Great characters that will keep your interest extremely well.
The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting.
Add in drama and steamy passion and you have a good read.

I received a copy of this book. A very passionate and emotionally charged story that hit a couple heart strings but a lot of steamy passion made up for the uncomfortable feels

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The only thing that really developed was the relationship. Sure you find out what the ‘Big Secret’ is from the group’s POV but it was also VERY obvious from the get go what the supposed secret was.

If your into series long plots developing alongside a little romance (this one closely resembling Beauty and the Beast, not sure if that was intentional and or going to be repeated in the other books) with a dash of mystery thrown in and a teaspoon of dealing with the mistakes of your past then this is the story for you.
I, however, prefer there to be forward motion, so something at the end that is wholly resolved. Sure a little mystery to thread the other books into the overall narrative is nice and all, but Only having the thief reveal she’s working for someone who might be their old friend isn’t what I would call closure. In fact it just breeds more questions, which again is ok but there was also no DEFINITIVE answers to anything, not even a hint. Like is there a third party pitting these guys against each other? Was the car hacked? Are they really dead? Who is the bad guy? Is he/she really a ‘bad guy’? Who put the spyware in Gideon’s house? What’s in the notebooks?
Seriously that last one really pissed me off. I mean they couldn’t decode even a small line of it to give a TASTE of what’s to come. Like a vague warning. Or some cryptic whatever like in a video game or a high fantasy Prophecy, one that won’t make sense until much later. Overall it just made the ending feel cheap, unearned and ANTICLIMACTIC.
A Plot always sets out to pose a mystery to the reader something that leaves them wondering. This posed a question and then didn’t answer shit and just left it open, like one big advertisement to read the rest of the series. Only this one didn’t draw me in AT ALL so I won’t be doing that. I’d rather just make up in my own mind a better plot and just go with that than read what ever the author has in store next just so I don’t have to go through another whole story and get no resolution to the growing number of questions I had and am still having now after the story ends.
I should feel hungry for more but instead I’m just disappointed I wasn’t given part of the puzzle this book said it would give me. A promise was made for answers and I wasn’t given that or at least I was given the piece, only it itself is in a dozen or so pieces I have to put together first. It’s too much work for so little gratification.

Secrets, lies and high tech tragedy

Gideon Wolfe is paranoid, broody and has cut himself off from his billionaire bffs to figure out if one betrayed him. Tess Robards is an army veteran security specialist commisioned to make sure no one can do it again. He makes her a financial offer her sense of responsibility can't refuse but still it's at a pretty high price. Their chemistry is off the charts but slow burn smolders like the brewing intrigue behind the secrets he and his friends all share. Some people are going to get hurt but can Gideon and Tess make something from what's left?
Gideon is nothing like the heros in Raleigh Davis' previous series and that makes him interesting in a whole new way. His ego hides an underlying pain that makes it seem like dual personalities in his actions. You know who Tess is from the start and you just have to kind of stick with her and trust her to make the right decisions. One part Cinderella, one part Beauty and The Beast but this isn't a light hearted fairytale. These brilliant guys have a dark past. I can't wait to uncover more secrets in this intriguing series!

Romance, a hidden past and a secret that yearns to be solved!
by sewsummore

Gideon was a self made billionaire and a and recluse after a bungled attempted robbery. Gideon was hurt during the attempt but the thieves escaped with nothing. It became obvious that his security needed to be upgraded and that was when he met Tess. a young ex army soldier who had started her own security company after leaving the service. This book was full of hidden secrets, dangerous thieves, and billionaire friends. The more time Tess and him spent together the more gideon was drawn to her and after a near death experince when he saved her life at the risk of his own, they knew there was more than just attraction between them. This book was an excellent introduction to a new series of books. There are many mysteries still to be unravelled but the romance between Gideon and Tess leads into the next bookleaving the reader satisfied and eager to learn more about Gideon, his friends and the secrets they keep.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I fell in love with the first book I read of Ms. Davis which was "Secret Acquisitions" and was so excited to start up another billionaire bad boy series. I absolutely love the male MC Gideon take charge attitude that could be "beastly" at times but Tess knew how to handle him. Tess was a strong character but had some vulnerability that was so realistic. These two characters mesh well together and I love there wasn't any pussyfooting around on how they felt about each other. Especially Gideon...he laid it all out there and Tess gave it back as good as he did. Ms. Davis' story telling is spectacular with the right amount of heat and romance to keep it a page turner. This story gave us a good lead in to the next book. I can't wait to read Cassian and Victoria's story in the next book in the series.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

An intriguing story.
Tess is hired to renew and improve the security of billionaire Gideon Wolfe's home. When she hears that she will not be allowed to leave his house but must remain there during the job, she has her doubts. But the money this job brings her will help her reduce her parents' debts, which is a major driver for her. She slowly learns more about Gideon and the shadows that surround him.
Gideon develops medical devices that can save many human lives. Despite that, he sees himself as a bad person and the reason for that lies in his past. A past that now haunts him.

I loved Gideon's character. A strong, mysterious man who slowly thaws under the influence of Tess. A romance with an unsolved case from the past that Gideon and his friends try to keep hidden but which comes to the surface

I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review

Primal Bargains – Raleigh Davis – Its Beauty and the Beast. The Beast is a medical science AI tech genius billionaire who has blockaded himself in his mansion to protect a secret notebook. The Beauty runs a security company with her best friend now that the two of them are retired (involuntarily due to a stalker) from the military. As Tess rebuilds Gideon’s security system from the ground up, Gideon is using himself as bait to try and get the thief that broke his fingers and ribs to return. His paranoia may have encouraged him to hold Tess hostage while she works, but the longer he spends with her the harder it is for him to keep her out of his life. This is a really cool group of people, and I know the rest of this series is going to be just as good! Perfect for romantic suspense/nerd fans! Happy Reading!

Gideon is attacked in his home by an intruder looking for... He hires Tess to re-do all the security in his estate. One caveat - she has to stay there until the job is complete. As she works on the new system, they begin to forge a bit of trust while things slowly sizzle between them. This is a wonderful modern re-telling of Beauty and the Beast. The story sucked me in at the first page, and never let go. There is a bigger mystery than what is solved in this story, related to the books that Gideon and his friends received from Ira. And I cannot wait to read the next one in this series. This is my first read from this author, and I'm really impressed!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
