I cannot get enough of this series! Not only is every book steeped in thought-provoking historical accuracy, but also brimming with heart-wrenching emotion!
I was really looking forward to reading Lisa Grace’s story (I think I say that about everyone’s story, but I mean it every time for different reasons) because she was the black sheep of her family in a way that I can totally relate to. Artists really do operate on a completely different wavelength than non creative types and Ms. Cooper-Posey wrote about Lisa Grace’s quirks and forgetfulness while in the middle of creating so accurately that I found myself laughing out loud at parts because I’d done all those same things.
In this book, Annaliese “Risks Ruin” by fully embracing the bohemian lifestyle of the artistic community by living in sin with her benefactor/art dealer, a secret she only shares with her cousin of sorts and most supporting family member of her art, Peter. Peter resents knowing her secret for more reasons than just the risk it presents to the family.
Peter is the hero of the story and as such I thought I would detest Tobias for some wretched character flaw of his, but I couldn’t because he didn’t really have any. I don’t want to give too much away, but it was beautifully written story that echoes so much of real life. I appreciate that Ms. Cooper-Posey doesn’t write cookie cutter people into cookie cutter everything falls into place at the end stories, because that isn’t reality and makes her stories a nice little trip into the past for the reader.

Awesome! The tale of a daring and passionate woman.

The heart-warming story of a woman navigating her way through the challenges of learning how to be an independent woman in Victorian England. A lovely easy read with no angst or overplayed drama.

What a likeable female lead! Gutsy and passionate with enough doubts and insecurities that we feel empathy for her and her difficult choices. A very interesting exploration of how she finds her way in the art world of Victorian England whilst still keeping her personal life private.

You've got to love that there are no simpering Victorian Miss's! This woman knows what she wants...and luckily her man feels the same way! They are honour bound but their attraction challenges their scruples.

I thoroughly enjoyed the complete immersion of this Victorian-era love story as Tracy Cooper-Posey writes with such heart and attention to detail.

I highly recommend this whole series and especially that it's read in order to get the benefit of all the back stories and character personalities.
Each story of the 11 books are full of interesting aspects of Victorian England and the changes happening during this era as highlighted by the challenges met by Tracy Cooper-Posey's fascinating characters.

The series is coming to an end but there are still some loose strands that need to be tied by the author and as always with seamless artfulness. What a treat to read how everything comes full circle among this big family!
This novel is centered around Peter and Annalies. He’s living his life carefree but always conscious of his role in the family, she is an artist that wants to belong to the bohemian circles and is willing to risk her reputation for it, living with her promoter without being married. But is she to forsake her true talent and conform to the Academy’s strict tastes? And does that make her happy?
In another poignant and passionate story, we are led to another great story that should not be missed by anyone that enjoys historical novels set in the 19th century.
There is only one more story to go and I will be sorry to see this series end but I sincerely hope that the author will continue to write historical novels because of her gift for storytelling and attention to period detail.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader copy of this book.
I love this series, which takes place in the very strict moral Victorian age and this book definitely breaks many of those morals. But we also have three closely-knit families that love, understand and accept their own, where society would shun and in some cases do harm to them. We have a young woman who has chosen to live a very unconventional love and secret life. She's also a woman with talent that finally realizes she will not be held back by what this society's strict views of what a woman is capable of doing on her own merits. We have a love that is realized too late for the one he loves has chosen another and the anger he has for her acceptance in what she has chosen. You must read this book and decide for yourself what side you chose and will the families discover the truth and accept it, or will the final outcome surprise everyone, even to the three involved. I tell you it's just an awesome story.

The next book in the Scandalous Scions series is “Risk of Ruin.” This is the the eleventh book in the series and with each new book it just adds to the series, a new depth. In “Risk of Ruin” I just really enjoyed the plot line with how Annalies is in trouble financially between her art work and bills she is still growing as a person. She is starting to realize what she needs to do to survive and to be herself. Peter wants her to go back to her genre painting for it told a story versus what the academy wants. With all this occurring these two are also fighting how they feel. There is definitely lust and caring between these two. But there is also a secret and Annalies’s life that no one really knows. I highly enjoyed reading this book and highly recommended this book.

I was given an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest review.

In this volume we are are taken into the secretive life of Annalies a budding young artist struggling to make a name for herself in the “art world” whilst involved in an unconventional relationship with her live in lover and mentor Tobias. Annalies and Tobias are struggling financially which forces her to turn to her cousin Peter for financial assistance. All the main characters need to find themselves to find their future.
I loved this story from start to finish and am already anticipating the next book in this addictive series! Tracy Cooper-Posey never fails to connect with her characters and bring them alive on paper! Another absorbing read. This book is book 11 in the Scandalous Scions series but can be read as a standalone story. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader copy of this book.

Wonderful story of Following Your Heart!!

Lady Annalies is risking all for herself and possibly her family by pursuing her painting career and moving in with her patron. When financial problems occur, she turns to Peter for solutions. He has always been a sounding board for her but realizes now he has a more personal interest in her well-being.

This delightful family always breaks with the standards of early England, but now we see the personal career struggle to follow the rules of the Academy who can make or break an artist. A wonderful lesson in economics, a deepening of the relationship, and an enchanting journey to this most fascinating time as written by this author.

*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
I just love the beginning and how I felt as if I had been dropped directly into Annalies’ mind. I can really emphathize with her situation and eagerly read the story to follow the steps that this strong woman takes to achieve her dreams.
I also really admire and enjoy how Tracy Cooper Posey maintains historical accuracy in even the smallest details and how in every book she introduces me to new historical figures like James Tissot and historical events.
A must read story with a great plot, relatable characters and an ending that I did not expect but love.
Thank you Tracy Posey.

Another great addition to Scandalous Scions series
Annalies is a young woman who wants to be of independent means in an era when respectable women married instead of having profitable careers of their own. I loved how she was bucking societal norms of her time. Her relationships with the two men in her life are complex. There are some interesting twists in the story.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
