Favorite new series!

Love these characters & Avalon's story was the icing on the cake. These characters really speak to me. I love them, when their hearts ache mine aches! Emma is so loving, caring, & passionate. I relate to her the most, bc we are similar. When her heart breaks over something I am right there with her. She has seen tragedy & so have I. Another reason I relate to her. She almost loses 2 sets of parents. And things don't get easier when you are a secret keeper. Callie, this poor girl was fed lies by her mother, isolated, never had a friend, & was having sex just to feel connected to another human. Her mother never taught her normal things like how to swim. The only extra curricular thing she was allowed to do was train to protect herself. Which did help once, but against the people kidnapping her she had no chance of getting away. They are stronger & have powers we could never imagine! I love that she & Daniel are bonded just not how it happened. Maya couldn't be farther from my own life. Really hard for me to relate to, but I am sure there are people out there that do. Rich, popular, has a best friend since they were very young. Parents however, work so much to protect her that they've lost their focus of what's really important. At least she has her nanny that is a loving replacement. Yet she always felt like she had a missing part of her life, not fulfilled. And then the hot guys, I'll let you discover them in all their arrogance on your own. Your welcome, you have to have something to be left as a surprise!

Favorite series ever!

I seriously was so hooked on this book I could not put it down. I enjoyed each girls story. I wish it wasn't ending !!!!!!!!! I hope she does make another book one day because I absolutely love this series and all the characters. The last book though is the one that really got me. I laughed and cried my freaking eyes out.. i won't give anything away but I honestly have never read a book that affected me this much! I am so in love and will probably read it again if I run out of books!!!

Just as amazing as the first time

So this was a reread for me. The first time it was with each separate book...so it’s kind of like reading it new! But oh goodness! Some stuff I remembered and some I didn’t and was so glad I decided for a reread. But I never forgot how awesome all 4 females are despite all they had been through. Each similar but totally different. And I love the world building. It was so descriptive and complete. I wish I could go to Overworld and visit all the places!

Don’t keep it a secret!

This series is truly an amazing experience. You get to experience four very different stories all tied into one. You laugh, cry and even worry during this book in a very good way. Each book was told from the secret keepers point of view. Some fell hard and fast and some fought the pull towards the overlords. In the end it’s a great blend and you won’t want to put it down!! Happy reading ?

AMAZINGGG

Oh, my, Lord, this book is one of the best books I have ever read! So captivating, so intriguing, and not too predictable. The characters truly showed their love for one another, which was so wholesome! There were so many details describing specific things, and I finished the whole series in a week, reading it every chance I could. Would I recommend? OF COURSE! Kudos to you author and team!

Secretly hidden

One of the things I love about Jaymin Eve’s books is the kindness and love her male hero’s have for the women in their lives. The heroines — the keepers are young women, from all different pasts, but they are strong and true to themselves. So worth reading. I’d love to see the next set of stories with their children.

Great Story with some timing issues

I love Jaymin Eve's story telling. This one was not exception. I did like how the insta-love nature of the romances weren't made to be some filthy, sordid, magnetic type thing. Don't get me wrong I like my steamies too but basing a lifetime commitment on a strong vajajay tingle kind of wrecks the ride or die feel. As an added bonus the female homey bonds in this story aren't watered down by the hetero romance bonds. I know it happens in real life where the girl is sooo stuck on her new Beau that it's sionara to her life long girl friends but Eve made mate style bonds for the heroines too (really they are the only heroes, but I can't say more. You'll have to read).

I knocked off a star because there are three occasions where there is an inappropriate time lapse or the timing is off. The last two books have distinctly screenplay-esq timing issues. For example, while running for one's life, it isn't the time to stop and have a conversation regarding how the uber hot and rich aliens can afford their private jets, and why they are so eco-friendly. The entire conversation would have been more realistic inside the plane after the super secret emergency take off. In a movie, this kind of ridiculously timed conversation happens frequently, but novel writers have to be more careful where there is no flashy music or scene cuts to make the timing work. If a helicopter containing a bad guy is coming at the safehouse, do the characters really have time to pack duffels of things they didnt arrive with while running for their lives? Can they hang out in the forest and make googly eyes at one another? On television yes, in a book, no.

Good news is there was only one spelling error in the book. Books filled with typos really annoy me but this book has been edited and you won't find that here! Honestly, the story itself is worth 5 stars. The books all combined made for a great flow, but the screenplay writing toward the end really threw me off. I still.recommend reading though, for the great story.

From the start, the series had a bit of a Twilight vibe, but not necessarily in a bad way. Then it took a turn for the strange and ended up being aliens instead of vampires and werewolves which was unique and different. I enjoyed the range of characters for the most part; although some of the romance was a bit over the top with the whole soul-mate/bonded pair thing. I was concerned in the beginning that it would be a reverse harem; and blessedly it was not. I was taken by surprise when I finished book 1 and expected to read book 2 from the same characters perspectives, but it turned out to be in the second Secret Keeper’s perspective. After getting used to it, I enjoyed it, but it was a bit of a shock at first. I don’t read excerpts because I hate how blurbs sometimes ruin a plot for you so it was honestly my own fault I was thrown for a loop. I’m happy to say that the series has more of a fantasy/paranormal romance feel to it than an actual sci-fi series (since I don’t care for sci-fi).

As for cons, well, there are just some writing technical flaws in the plots and writing style that seemed so glaring that it was distracting. I wish there were more Easter Eggs throughout the books instead of seeming like the author was finding and resolving issues pretty much immediately as she was writing that particular novel. She could have easily given some foreshadowing in the previous books if she had planned farther ahead. It’s something that I really hope is worked on in future novels.

Overall, I did enjoy the series, and enjoyed this Omnibus at a significant discount rather than buying the books individually. The ending was fitting, and there are quite a few untied strings which leaves room for future spin-offs if she wants. I hope to hear more about this world, but for now, I’m pleasantly sated with where it ended up.
A-MaZinG!!!

This is story telling at its finest! The imagination that created this world, it's characters and the totally mind blowing storyline is sublime!
I loved each and everyone of the Secret keepers, and I found their individual back storys as well as current flights captivating!
This wonderfully woven tale drags you in on the first page and doesn't let you go until the last!
Do yourself a favour and five head first into this beautifully created world!
Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed this series. Well developed characters and plots (tho Maya May have been my least fave of all 4 girls).

4 out of 5 stars because instead of continuing the story and saying “we explained to her about Overworld and her role” the author actually explained it even though you already knew everything from the first book so there was a lot of skipping of each proceeding book because you were like “yup, get it. Already knew that from the other book(s)”.
