I couldn't get into this for some reason. The characters felt one dimensional for me and I had trouble buying in.

Welcome to one of the causes of global warming! Grab your ice water, a fan and hang out the do not disturb sign because this fantasy romance is a scorcher filled with tension, clan disputes, flying accusations and enough sensual tension to cut a diamond! Seducing the Sun Fae by Rebecca Rivard doesn’t start out slow and easy, within just a few pages we are thrown in, headfirst into one hot alpha leaders plan to force the Sun Fae’s queen into righting the wrongs she has committed against the Fada river shifter clan. What he didn’t expect was that his power of seduction may have met its match in the vibrant and beautiful Sun Fae. One darkly handsome and powerful alpha and one equally powerful, yet surprisingly kind queen, two races who know little but rumors about each other, sounds like the perfect recipe for further investigation, all in the name of full disclosure and good policy, right? So, of course, private negotiations are in order, but will the truth set them free or will it bind them in ways they could never have imagined? Is Cleia an evil seductress or will Dion be the planned seducer? Passions run deep…

Did Rebecca Rivard use a blowtorch to pen Seducing the Sun Fae? One thing for sure, she has met a wonderful balance between plot and playtime, as she makes each page fly by. Well written, filled with conflict, humor and some very personable characters, her world is a magical place to visit, whether you prefer the light and sparkle of the fae or the bold, rock solid existence of the Fada, this is great fantasy, spiced to perfection.

I received this copy from Rebecca Rivard in exchange for my honest review.

Series: The Fada Shapeshifter Series - Book 1
Publication Date: May 1, 2015
Publisher: Wild Hearts Press
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Print Length: 338 pages
Available from: Amazon
Reviewed for: http://tometender.blogspot.com

Seducing the Sun Fae definitely raised the heat in my house around 10 degrees! Rebecca Rivard creates a pairing that you won't soon forget (I know I haven't) between the Sun Fae Queen, Cleia, and the River Fada Alpha Male, Dion. Their relationship is fraught with wanting and passion, and made deeper by the revelations they have about each other and their clans along the way. This story captivated me every step of the way: from the crystalline, airy world of the Sun Fae to the cool caverns of the river fada. I fell in love with the characters and enjoyed seeing their hidden layers revealed in the story. The author does a fantastic job of creating an exciting mythological fairy world which I can't wait to explore further in the next books! I highly recommend Seducing the Sun Fae. This is one book I would gladly read over and over...although my air conditioning bill may rise along with my heart rate! But it's worth it to escape into this incredible world of Rebecca Rivard's creation.

Cleia, Queen of the Sun Fae, has been enjoying taking the local River Fada (shapeshifters) as lovers for two decades or more. She loves them and then lets them go on their way back to their clan. And then never really considers them again. Dion, the Alpha of the River Fada, has noticed a subtle decline in the health of his clan and in the crops they produce to support them. He traces the problem, or so he thinks, back Cleia and devises a plan to make her stop what she's doing and to reverse the damage. His brilliant plan is to kidnap her and hold her until she agrees. Little does he know his troubles were just beginning.

I really enjoyed this book. Cleia and Dion and both strong individuals and leaders who want to take care of their people and see them happy and healthy. I found the other characters in the book to as interesting and look forward to reading future stories in this series.
Note: this story contains strong characters, and unexpected love, a mating, a little violence and treachery, some betrayal, and some hot smexy-times. I definitely recommend it..

I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. My thoughts and opinions are my own.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was very close to me rating it 3 stars, mainly because the multiple POV’s, but the story line was able to help me decide it deserved more. Despite my distaste for multiple POVs.

The book as a whole was great, I just love fae books. The author does a good balance between details and emotions for the story. The characters were charming to say the least. I think the picture in my mind, Dion is quite attractive along with his personality.

For me it was a little slow at first, I put the book down a couple of times in the beginning before finally picking it up to get further into it. The more I read, the more the pace of the book picked up. I was able to guess some of the ending, but I am always trying to guess what is going to happen.

If I have anything bad to say about the book, it would only be I didn’t like how many POVs it had. Along with the editing issues, I found through it. Of course, that is at the fault of the editor, betas, or proofreaders. Other then that I have no complaints on this book.

Since this book is a series, I wouldn’t mind reading more of this world.

The author does a great job of weaving this magical story into a very real setting and I liked that I recognized some of the places as I read the book. For such a short book, the characters were fleshed out fairly well and there wasn't an overload of characters like some books I've read. The only issue I had was that I didn't understand why the river fada felt like the sun fae hated them so much, but every interaction proved otherwise. Dion kept insisting that the sun fae would leave the fada to starve or treat them in an inhumane way, but the sun fae welcomed them without a hint of prejudice. And for someone who is blamed with draining the fada's energy and pretty much ruining their lives, she's quickly welcomed into their clan (after doing a menial chore) as a prisoner with the exception of only one woman treating her with distrust. Maybe this will get fleshed out more in the next book!

I'm stopping at 20 percent, after giving it two shots to take me away. I just couldn't get into this book.
It is hard to follow. Bouncing around from present to past, people to people without any sort of acknowledgment to the reader. I really can't even grasp the setting on the story so the lack of visual and comprehension makes it difficult to read.
The characters often speak in another language (Portuguese I believe) which I often found annoying since I have no idea what they are saying nor is any sort of explanation given.
The smuttiness was about the only thing this book had going for it, but even that was pretty cheesy.

I really had high hopes for this after so many good reviews and ratings, but I was very disappointed. It is a hot mess.

**I received a digital copy of this book in exchange of an honest review**

What a wonderful first novel! A fantasy that is hot and steamy, and has a great story of tension between clans, not to mention the leaders of the clans. Sun fae and water fada make for more than just sparks when mixed. Are the sun fae too sophisticated to be able to communicate with the animalistic fada? It was fun to explore and it left me wanting more. Can't wait for the next novel!
