Layla's books just keep getting better. How many hitmen do you know that change their mind and decide they aren't going to kill their mark? that is exactly what happened to Fox when he saw Pippa. Was it love at first sight? Was it fate or destiny? either way, i love their dynamics throughout this book. The give and take between the two was awesome. Their love is one that many people long for!

Wow! That was the first thought that popped into my head when I finished this book. I own and have read the other 5 books in the Bare Bones MC series and I cherish every single one. That being said, 'Shelter from the Storm' blew me away! I have been anticipating this book since Layla first announced it's conception and once I got my eyes on it, I knew it was destined to be my favorite. She did not disappoint. <br /><br />The characters are well thought out and she gives enough back ground to set the stage but still allowing a little mystery. The flow from this book starts in the first book of the series and continues flawlessy page to page without seeming like a continuation. Shelter has it's own feel, it's own heart. <br /><br />Fox is strong but has a vulnerable side that he isn't afraid to show. As a fellow readhead, I thought he could stand a bit more fire in his personality, but given his history and what he went through, I can understand why his fire had dwindled a bit. But in the end, it flares back with a vengence thanks to Pippa.<br /><br />Pippa is a fiesty little wild cat with a heart of gold and a very sharp mind. I can probably say without a doubt, that Pippa embodies the persona of every young woman who has ever had dreams and ambitions that were stolen by careless and heartless men. Inspite of this, she does not turn bitter and heartless. She uses here spitfire spirit to unlock Fox's secrets and earns his heart.<br /><br />Shelter from the Storm is book 6 in the Bare Bones MC series and can be read alone but it's best to read them all so that you have a better feel for the supporting characters, the stories setting, and why certain aspects are so important. <br /><br />I highly recommend this book to everyone out there! Go get it, I promise you won't regret it!

I loved this one! HOT cover pulled me into the action and I pictured Fox as he swept in to "save the day" for Pippa...breaking all the rules and protecting the target he was supposed to wipe out.<br />There's "chemistry" in this book in many ways...drugs (specifically marijuana in its various strains) and the most volatile one...the heat and sparks between these two characters.<br />This author has a unique storytelling "voice"...it is laced with a rough realism but full of sarcasm, witty dialogue and sometimes just downright rude and crude behavior...and it is entertaining as hell.<br />The storyline is intricate and complicated with several of our favorite Bare Bones members from past books and interspersing a new generation of guys and the criminals they must face down to keep their club safe and their businesses intact.<br />Get ready for some non-stop action, learn a little about the medical marijuana business and go along for the sexy, tension-filled ride as Fox and Pippa discover what it means to not be alone ever again.<br />I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.<br /><br />***** 5 ***** "protecting what is his without fear of consequences" stars

Shelter from the storm was a great addition really loved the cover, it fit perfectly within the series even though each book can be read separately they all flow &amp; have a place.<br />Thrilling hot full packed 5 stars.<br /><br />I loved the characters of this book they really had me wanting more.<br />When I started this book i was excited to jump into the world of BB again and I really enjoyed having great members re-appear. <br /><br />Pippa pulled me in with her confidence and strong mind and Fox was a hidden gem just perfect for her. <br />Wow this book had it all and was hot, intriguing even had twists, One not to be missed, your be reading and thinking yeah this is happening then your traveling along and taken by surprise. <br />It's so easy to give stuff away but I feel we all read a book differently so you must read to find out.<br /><br />(Note)You don't need to read the other Bare Bones books but to get background on some of the characters I highly recommend have a read you won't be disappointed in this series.

It was so good to be back with the Bare Bones MC!<br /><br />The main characters this time were Fox and Pippa....not their real names as both were on the run from their pasts.<br /><br />These two certainly sparked off each other! Their relationship did not happen overnight as they had to learn to trust each other..which is as it should be.<br /><br />They were surrounded by characters we know and love from previous books and they were up against the usual suspects in terms of baddies.<br /><br />The setting was the town of Pure and Easy. It really does sound a quirky place to live and I have a vivid image of it, thanks to Layla's descriptive skills.<br /><br />There was violence and sex aplenty, as you you would expect, but this was lightened not only by the developing romance but also by the thread of humour running through the story...there were some laugh out loud moments, for me at least!<br /><br />I enjoyed the story and its twists and turns.<br /><br />I received an ARC from the author in return for an honest review.

Another fantastic book by the talented Layla Wolfe!<br />Set among the red rocks and hot Arizona sun, Shelter From the Storm is the next chapter of the Bare Bones MC series. This is Fox and Pippa's story, and it's a sweet one!<br />I love the cover of this book! Scott King makes for a gorgeous cover model as well as inspiration for Fox Isherwood, the sicario with a heart as big as his muscled, tattooed chest. <br />What I loved about this story was the appearances by the brothers of the club, and their old ladies. It was great catching up with Ford, Maddie, Lytton, June, Wolf, and the rest.<br />I squealed when I saw Santiago Slayer was back! Love his sassy self!<br />There wasn't as much sex in this book as in past Layla Wolfe books but I was okay with that. The story flowed and I am still in awe at how descriptive she can get with the scenery. <br /><br />I highly recommend Shelter From the Storm if you are an MC lover, for sure.

It was great getting back to The Bare Bones MC as it has been a little while and although this book can be read as a standalone I have read all the others in the series and it was like visiting old friends. (Plus the cover is awesome!)<br /><br />I loved the new characters in this book. Pippa is a strong female lead and resonated with the scientist in me. She brought great chemistry to the book in more ways than one! I thought she was very true to herself and was a perfect complement to Fox. What can i say about Fox? He's the red headed hitman with a heart. <br /><br />I don't want to give away the twists in the book but it's a great read that flows really well. If you're a fan of the series already you won't be disappointed and if this is your first dip into Layla's Bare Bones MC/Bent Zealots MC/Assassins of Youth MC world then dive in its a great place to swim!

Couldn'tputitdown.... Mexican cartel white boy hitman, Fox, working for his father's rivals, is.set to take out some woman that is a treat to the cartel. Pippa is no dummy but she was a dummy to her heart, when she fell for a L.C. in the coast guard but he was not a loving man. Pippa has been thorough challenges that not a lot of people could handle but she did. You get to catch up what's all been going on in P&amp; E with all the previous couples and even a Wolf will get his woman. New challenges, old rivals, revenge, New business and new friends. Book six of the Bare Bones series follows the characters of Fox Isherwood, a lawyer in hiding turned cartel hitman and Pippa Lofting, a young woman who also has a hidden past of her own. Fox is sent on a mission to kill a woman, but when he discovers she is innocent he will stop at nothing to keep her safe instead. Add in some great chemistry and growing attraction between the pair and it is a recipe for one great book. I really enjoyed this book, and the entire Bare Bones series so far, and can't wait to see what the author comes up with next.<br />I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
