That was a really clever and inventive story, couldn't put it down. Interesting "fae" characters, sympathetic humans, sort of believable events. Loved it! I read it for free on Kindle, but I might be enticed to pay for the sequel!

This was first published on my blog " Lecture toute une Aventure"

Love it!!! really it was fabulous, i was interested after checking the blurb but this story has surpassed all my expectations ( even if they were high) .

Suddenly, Fae are appearing in our world but for most of them it's not by their own volition so they are here lost and afraid and sometimes hurt...that's what happened to Aleric a werewolf who wake up in a hospital confused about how he got there and where it is exactly....however as soon as he heard the cries of another fae he jumps into action mode and do his best to help her...finding himself acting as a doctor even if he has a lot to learn himself he is moved by the need of his fellows companions and becomes their protector.
he is hurt and as confused as they can be but he acts and i really loved that about him how he could be so honest and caring.

Fae politics are put aside for a moment in this strange world for them so werewolf, fairy and vampire band together to transform the wing of the hospital so that they can become theirs with the help of the few humans knowing the truth... Dr Worthen and Lauren, the nurse, ( and gregory) are confronted to strange patients and suddenly they understand that they can hurt them even more by trying to help so when a patient suddenly act like a doctor and seems to know what is happening they decide to entrust him with the new discovered fae even if they are sometimes dubious and sometimes afraid they want most of all heal all their patient..
I loved to see them true to their vow and how resourceful they could be because of course not every human is friendly .

There is a lot of action and some suspense but i loved to learn more about Blays universe and to see Aleric discovering bits of info about how to treat fae from other ones...each individual is helping in a way sharing his knowledge when they would probably have ignored each other while in their world. i loved to see the diversity. Dartan is really interesting as well.

there is a a small cliffhanger for sure but to be honest i loved this one so much that i really want to read the next cliffhanger or not i want to see why the rift exactly, the past of Aleric and how he will adjust. A story to discoverfor all urban fantasy lovers
Delightful as always

I really enjoy the characters in Cheree Alsop’s stories. They are really heroes but they suffer along the way, successfully winning the day only to stumble toward the next challenge. I find myself always ready for her next book!

Shockwave is the first in the Fae Rift series, and it introduces us very nicely to our world, and the parallel world where the Fae reside. Something is happening, no one is sure what, and Fae are being thrown (usually violently) from their world into ours. Aleric wakes up in hospital, with no recollection that he is in a new world, and helps to save the life of a faery. Suddenly, his knowledge is needed to save the lives of other Fae, whether they are Light or Dark. With unexpected allies, Aleric needs to find a way to send the Fae back to where they belong, before things get out of hand.

This was a witty, fast-paced, and humorous start to a series, and I was thoroughly engrossed in it! Aleric himself is an outstanding character, but he has an amazing supporting cast in the shape of Dr Worthen, Nurse Eastwick, Dr Indley, Dartan, and Tranquility, to name but a few. This story is finished off, but also has an opening to the next book.

Very well written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow, this is a wonderful book, and I look forward to reading more in this series.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *

Merissa
Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!
This is a strange little story but really good all the same. Aleric wakes in the hospital and doesn't know what's going on. He surrounded by strange people and strange things. When her hears the screams of pain coming from the fairy in the next room, he find her being tortured with the IV that's in her arm. When he moves her into a wing under construction to put her in the sun, the medical staff are amazed that she healed. There was a Rift torn into the land of the fae. When some of them fell into this world, they were injured. The hospital is the first line to protect them until they can find a way home. Throw in a cocky Vampire, a psychopathic Fairy and a raging demon and now they are having fun.
I just Love Cheree Alsop. She is one of my favorite writers, but I had a little issue with this book. If they come from an alternate reality, why do they know so much about ours? That was the one hiccup for me. Otherwise, the characters are well thought out and have brilliant personalities. This is a charming story of a werewolf being pulled into something that might be a little too big but he pulls it off.

Shockwave- Dr. Wolf (The Fae Rift Book 1)
Written by Cheree Alsop
Genre: Paranormal

Aleric Bayne wakes up in a hospital and is confused as to what all is going on. He hears a girl screaming in pain and goes to investigate and finds that it is a fairy. He runs to help her and finds that he is now in the human world and not the fae world that he is from.

Wow! Was not expecting enjoying this book as much as I did. Ms. Alsop had me drawn in from the get go. The writing was fantastic, the story just flowed so easily and I could not put the book down. I enjoyed all the characters and love her imagination. The banter with the characters had me laughing out loud (I love the fairy and the vampire).

I really enjoyed the story line and the whole what if of falling into a rift. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a nice fresh look on paranormal. Great Job Ms. Alsop and I can’t wait to read the rest!

***I was given a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher****

I'm hooked on another series by Cheree! She doesn't disappoint. Imagine running along, falling, and then waking up in a strange hospital! Me, I'd be totally freaking out, but Aleric is determined to find out who's screaming in pain next to him (despite a major headache) and when he sees it's a fae, he promptly tries to help her! And then culture shock - he's not in Kansas (Blays) anymore. He "fell" into a completely "human" world. A place where fae are nothing but myths. So Aleric becomes "Dr. Wolf" as he tries to help the human staff of the hospital's ER deal with the influx of fae. Even though he's not a doctor. What an incredible new adventure to follow as he does his very best. Werewolves, vampires, fairies, and banshees - oh, my!
