This should sum up my review: Beau and Savannah....these two have caused me to start drinking. The End. ?? I will try not to spoil this for anyone because I want all of you to experience this like I did.

Beau has loved Savannah since the moment he met her even though they were from different side of the tracks. He has always been there for Savannah no matter what- even though it hurt him. The day that was supposed to be a happy day for him was anything but happy. It was the day that he saw the truth and it changed his life for good.

I'm going to be honest and tell you that I didn't care for Savannah right from the beginning, but the more I read about her and what all went down my opinion of her changed and I wanted to root for her. The hate they had for her was disgusting but the support she had from Beau made it all bearable.

Be ready to sit through and read their story because once you get to the end you will know you survived. Ms. Natasha Madison, I'll be ready for the next one, I hope. Kara~5 Stars

Savannah...... quite the woman!!! Southern Storm takes readers on her journey. We see the insights to the decisions she’s made and it’s affects on her life.

Beau has been her best friend for years. He’s in love with her, she’s in love with him but they depend on each other too much to break that.

I loved this book! And I love Savannah. I loved understanding her brokenness and where I came from and what she was fighting for... always her son! And I love Beau and how he fights for Savannah and Ethan in this book!

Natasha Madison delivers another incredible read that shows how truly people are, how they grow, how people deserve second chances, how the decisions we make in life affect our future and how our future can only be changed by ourselves!
We get to decide if we look at a storm as something that is dark and scary and changes things or if out of the storm comes the good, even when things are broken.

Read this book, give Savannah a chance to show you how beautiful she is!!

Thank you Natasha for giving us all another amazing book!

This series has been nothing short of amazing and Southern Storm (Southern Series #3) has completely and utterly blown me away!!! I knew that Beau and Savannah’s story was going to be heavy, heart wrenching and filled with angst. And not only was it all of those things, but it was brilliant and creatively written. My heart and my mind wasn’t ready for the secrets, the lies and jaw dropping surprises. Hands down, Southern Storm is the BEST book in this series so far and one of my top favorite books of 2020.

If you’ve read Southern Chance and Southern Comfort then you have an idea of the pain and heartache that Savannah has gone through. The poor girl was literally the black sheep of her small town however, things aren’t always what they seem. My heart went out to her. She possessed an incredible amount of strength, courage, there was a lot depth to her and she’s definitely my favorite character in this series. And Beau was a wonderful, passionate and strong alpha and his love for Savannah ran so deep. He’s always been secretly in love with her and when danger arose and threatened Savannah, he proved that he would protect her at all costs. Their undeniable chemistry was perfection and once again Natasha Madison never disappoints when it comes to hot and steamy sex as these two definitely burned up the sheets!!

Get ready for one hell of an emotional and intense ride. Trust me, it’s well worth it.
I loved Beau since the first book so of course I wanted to read more bout him, but Savannah I wasn’t so sure about. I’m happy to say that even though I still don’t agree with what Savannah did I liked her as a character and I really felt for her.

Beau is Savannah’s very best friend and she’s been in love with him for as long as she can remember. He loves her too, but things are complicated between them. Savannah has been holding on to a big lie- the paternity of her son- since she was pregnant. Now, it’s out and Beau knows the truth. He knows her secret she worked so hard to hide.

I have to say, this secret felt like it was glossed over really quickly. I couldn’t believe how fast Beau just moved on from it. Not that I wanted him to hold a grudge, but if someone was lying to me for that long I think it would have taken me more than a few hours to process it. Still, Beau and Savannah’s story was full of other drama not necessarily related to the secret.

Someone is working really hard to drive Savannah out of town and Beau can’t have that. He’ll do whatever it takes to make her stay. Even if it means marrying her. Both of them are under the assumption that their feelings are unrequited, but what happens when they find out they both feel the same?

I wanted to love this one so much, but unfortunately for me it was just okay. I liked it, but it missed the love mark. I think all the drama was just too much. I wanted more romance and less drama. Still, I’ve liked this series as a whole and I’m so excited to get to Ethan’s book next. I have high hopes for it!

This hero probably deserves someone better. And this woman’s son deserves to know who’s his real father. If the father is an abuser, murderer, rapist or pedophile I’ll probably agreed to keep him in the dark about his child but apparently he’s just an asshole who got engaged to another woman while getting another woman pregnant and who’s also this hero’s brother. Since this is the case then he should know that he has a son. Shame of them for keeping their son from know who his real father is. The way I see it she wanted the hero from book 1 to become this kid dad. Why not make this hero play this role? This hero has been in love with her since forever, he could easily fulfill this role, she could have asked him to be her son’s father instead of destroying a relationship which the hero in book 1 was as much at fault as she is if not more since he was the one in a relationship with his heroine. He could’ve said no. But noooo they needed the drama.

Blurb:

Buried secrets never stay hidden in the South.

Savannah
I’m the one who broke up the golden couple. The woman people still whisper about, point at, and give dirty looks to.

Did I sleep with the prom king? No. Did I sleep with the town's golden boy on vacation from college? Yes.

Did I believe that he was going to marry me? Wholeheartedly.

Did he? Not even close. He got engaged right in front of me and then his father threw two hundred dollars at me and told me to take the trash out.

So, I raised my son in a town where people love him because they think that his father is the sheriff.

It was going great, everything was working out till my lie got out.

Beau

I was getting ready to take over the mayoral office from my father, who was my hero.

Until I heard the secret he hoped would stay buried forever.

My brother has a son, not just any son but a son with the woman who was my best friend.

The woman I secretly have loved from the moment she stood up to me and broke my nose in kindergarten.

I need to protect her and in order to do that, we need to get married.
Too bad her nightmare is my dream come true.

Southern Storm by Natasha Madison is the third book in the Southern series. It gives us Beau and Savannah’s story. Book one ended with Beau discovering the secret Savannah had been keeping for the past eight years. A secret, which almost destroyed her along with Jacob and Kallie’s relationship. (Jacob and Callie were the couple from the first book in the series).

Based on Savannah’s role in destroying Jacob and Kallie’s relationship, I came prepared to dislike her. However, on learning the truth and getting to know her on a deeper level, my feelings towards her changed. I don’t condone what she did, but based on the situation she found herself in which at the time was scary for someone so young I understood the reason for her irrational decision. This story revealed the depth of her strength. She didn’t allow the gossip, name calling and a host of other issues to break her. However, sometimes the situation can become overwhelming and the need to give up intensifies. As attacks against her escalate she felt this need, but she would learn that not everyone hated her as she believed by the support and encouragement provided when her enemies tried to get the better of her. Also, with the help of her best friend Beau she would learn that true love had the power to overcome the pains of her past.

Beau have been in love with Savannah since they were teenagers. However, he thought she never shared the same sentiment. Then the situation involving his best friend Jacob only helped to reinforce this belief. However, when the truth of the situation came to light, he saw an opportunity to protect Savannah and reveal to her that his feelings went beyond friendship.

This story took me on a heart breaking and tear-jerking journey, which was sprinkled with hope, love and forgiveness. The road to true love is never smooth and Southern Storms was the perfect depiction of that statement.

I enjoyed spending time with the characters, however there were some I found despicable. Savannah’s mother was a piece of work and don’t even get me started on Beau’s father.

I adored how the romance developed. Theirs was a love that grew from strength to strength as the years went by. It remained steadfast despite all the storms it faced. However, there were moments when I wanted to knock some sense into them. I can’t believe they could be so clueless.

The revelation at the end forms the basis for the next book in the series and I am eager to see how it will unfold. Readers should read the series in order, for although it features different couples the stories are interconnected.

Conclusion/Recommendation
I found Southern Storm to be a lovely addition to the Southern series and one I would recommend to fans of friends to lovers romance.
This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

Since I started this series I have hated Savannah. But I have also been dying to get my hands on this book. I was really hoping that there was a good reason for why she was so selfish and how she justified all of the horrible things that happened because of the choices she made. To a point I can justify her making those choices, she was young and scared and was given an easy out by one of her closest friends who she trusted. But when she saw all the fallout that happened to him, all the things he lost she almost just shrugged her shoulders and let it slide off. But I was sure when we got her side of the story there would be some ground shaking reason why.

So reading this book I was so conflicted. Beau was such an amazing character. He loved with his whole heart and he forgave his best friends for their betrayals and secrets and he still loved Savannah. And when all the secrets came out and he was justifiably hurt and upset he was still more concerned about Savannah and her feelings. And when Jacob also completely took her back I wanted to scream at them. Seriously how much damage can one person do to everyone she loves and just not care.

And while I absolutely hated her selfishness and lets be honest she was a complete acehole of a character. I did find myself feeling sorry for her. She had such horrible role models and she was pretty much alone and pregnant and everyone who should have helped and supported her were such deplorable human beings but she perpetuated it. She just threw everyone who loved her out of the boat so she wouldn’t drown and I couldn’t get over that.

But Beau was everything you could want in a husband. However even he was stupid. He loved her so blindly and even when she admitted her feelings he still hid from it and let it all continue as it had with both of them being oblivious to how they felt and that just aggravated me too.

Now this all sounds like one huge big negative rant but here's the thing. I hated Savannah, Beau annoyed me but the story was great. There was so much going on I couldn’t put the book down. And even while I hated Savannah, this was written well enough that I felt sorry for her. And even when I was ranting at my husband about what a bitch I thought she was I still needed to know what was going to happen and how things were going to play out with a few of the plot threads. I really enjoyed reading the book and it added to the series even if she didn’t do anything to redeem herself she was just human. And who am I to judge her choices, when I have never had to make them.

I can’t wait to read Ethan’s story. I honestly kind of feel like it’s going to be a bit of a train wreck with the amount of people who are now not just in on the secret but are so wrapped up in it. And I am dying to read it.

A very broken-hearted 2.5 stars

It pains me to write this review, because Natasha Madison is one of my favourite authors, and I wanted to love this book so badly! But sadly this one just didn’t work for me. I have so many thoughts and feelings, so please bear with me as I purge.

This is the third book in the Southern series. I would definitely recommend reading at least the first book in the series (Southern Chance) as it gives you a good introduction to the characters, and to the situation that changed all of their lives.

Here’s the details… Savannah was the poor girl in town, who was unfairly tainted with the reputation of her slutty mother and looked down upon by the whole town. In senior year, she got pregnant to the mayor’s son (big brother of her best friend, Beau), who promptly ditched her and got engaged right in front of her (he’s a douche). Lost and with no idea what to do, she went to her other best friend, Jacob (hero of book #1), and he agreed to pretend to be the father of her baby in order to protect her and her unborn child. This completely ruined his once-in-a-lifetime love (their epic second-chance-romance is the story of the first book), and it shattered the heart of Beau, who was hopelessly in love with her. For eight years, Savannah and Jacob have lied to pretty much everybody in their lives by keeping the paternity of her son, Ethan, a secret, but they have successfully co-parented and have raised a happy kid.

Being completely upfront, this book was always going to be a challenge for me. The events that went down in the first book of this series sparked massive and stupid drama that could have been so easily avoided. I thought Savannah’s actions were selfish and stupid, and to be honest, I hated her from the prologue of book #1. And now, we have her book. It’s hard going into a book when you already hate the heroine, but I love Natasha’s stories, and I was curious to see if Savannah could redeem herself. Plus, Beau seemed like a total sweetheart and the romance is a childhood friends-to-lovers, so I dove in.

Savannah has come a long way from her difficult childhood. She is still looked down upon by a lot of people in town – because of the behaviour of her mother, and the rumours that still persist about Savannah herself (even if they aren’t true). But she has worked hard to create a good life for her and her son, running the town’s successful bar, and she has good friends around her, including her two childhood best friends, Jacob and Beau, who are both big parts of her life.

This book begins where the last book left off, in the gutwrenching moment where Beau finds out Savannah’s big secret. Warning, rant ahead… I was expecting fireworks. I was expecting to get some sort of release for my own epic anger as Beau confronts his friends and asks all the things I wanted to know. But no. Instead, when he starts to let his anger out, he somehow ends up as the bad guy! Never mind that his best friends have been lying to him about something so important for YEARS! But that’s how it plays out, and then, it’s all just resolved! This thing, which is so freaking huge, and which pissed me off to no end, gets minimalised to the point where it’s over in a couple of pages and the deception isn’t addressed for the rest of the book. I’m not disputing that Savannah had a really rough childhood and was in a terrifying, heartbreaking situation, but she handled it so badly, the consequences of her decision impacted so many lives, and we’re now just supposed to forget about it because she was young and confused and didn’t know what else to do. *sigh*. It was brushed over so quickly, it became a non-issue and I never really got the chance to get over my anger. Beau is clearly a better person that I am!

. But anyway, all is out in the open, and our trio of best friends are doing their best to move on (whether I was ready for them to or not). But we are thrown into new drama as Savannah is being targeted by an unknown danger, and with very real threats against her home, her business, and her pesonally, her best friend, and the man who has loved her since they were teenagers, Beau, steps in to protect her.

Beau has just been appointed Mayor, and is finding his feet in his new role, picking up the reigns from his corrupt father, determined to clean up the office and do the best he can for his town. But his heart is with Savannah, and with the attacks increasing in severity, he feels that the best thing he can do to protect her, is marry her, feeling that his name will offer her some security.

And so, two best friends who are secretly in love with each other, marry, in a practical, but still very emotional arrangement, providing them with the perfect opportunity to act on all of that pent-up lust and love that has been building for so many years.

“Kiss me,” she says, and here in the dark, I kiss her. My heart speeds up, and my palms get clammy, but my lips touch hers, and it’s all over.

Things develop pretty quickly between them from this point, and it’s emotional, sexy, and all kinds of swoony, and I loved seeing them openly and whole-heartedly embrace all of those feelings.

But for some reason, I just wasn’t feeling it. Maybe I was still feeling unresolved anger over the past? Or perhaps because it had taken them so long to get to that point? They’ve been in love with each other since they were teenagers, it’s been at least eight years, all of their friends know they love each other, Beau spends most nights of the week hanging out at Savannah’s house, but neither of them have made a move or even hinted that there are strong feelings between them. I would have preferred at least one of them to make a move by then, to be brave enough to fight for what they want rather than just have bizarre circumstances act as a trigger to force it all out. We even see them get hot and heavy with each other in this book - before they have sex and before feelings are declared, there is lots of making out and passionate moments, but they still don’t believe the other has feelings for them? *another sigh*

The other disconnect for me came from the fact that there’s a lot going on in this book and it felt a bit rushed. Not the pacing of the romance, but the events of the book. There is SO much happening, and it happens in a short amount of time. I felt a bit overwhelmed by it all. It’s like every other chapter ends in a drama and we’re bouncing from one big event to the next

As for Savannah… I don’t hate her as much as I once did. I still completely disagree with how she handled things, but I didn't dwell on it. She and Beau moved on, so did I. But I still had trouble connecting to them as a couple. Beau says and does all the right things, their passion for each other is sizzling, and there is definitely a strong connection between them - I could see they were in love, their romance was swoony and sexy, and all-consuming for them both, but it didn’t hit me in the feels the way I was hoping (and the way that the other two books in this series have). And it bothers me that I can’t articulate why that is.

Ugh, this review is a hot mess. But I guess it’s a reflection of my still-conflicted feelings for this book, even weeks after reading it.

Natasha has written some of my favourite books and I’m usually completely sucked in and madly in love with her characters and their stories. It hurts to say, but with this one, I just wasn’t feeling it. Maybe it was because I was annoyed at Savannah, maybe it was the amount of time it took for her and Beau to finally admit their feelings, or maybe it was just everything that was happening. But I’m gutted.

But the book ends well, with an epilogue which leads us right into Ethan’s book up next. It sounds like it’s going to be another angsty one, and I’m definitely nervous, but I’ll give it a try.

Really sad I didn’t love this one – 2.5 stars. It was ok.

An Advanced Review Copy was generously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

 </["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]></["br"]>

You know the saying " cry a river? " well in this case with this story I cried a damn ocean. I honestly never thought that Savannah could be turned around but Natasha being the queen she is, proved me wrong again. Savannah and Beau have the most heart breaking but all consuming love story there ever could be. Grab the tissues, sit back and enjoy the ride

Okay I’m gonna start this review a little different...

Things to know:
There is no cheating in this book by the main characters.
This one does have a HEA.
It can be read on its on own, but I do suggest you read the first two stories in this series before reading this one.
Yes, you will go into this one hating Savannah. I know I did.
Beau is dreamy.
Ethan is sweet.
.....

This one takes place right after the last book (yes, you can start with this one without the previous stories). Poor Savannah. Yes, I said poor Savannah. This girl keeps getting pooped on over and over again by life. I’m glad we get some insight into her because she was definitely going down as my number one hated main character by Natasha.
So Savannah has been in love with her best friend Beau forever. She seems to be the only one who doesn’t know he is also in love with her.
Some things happen which we will leave you oozing with sadness for Savannah. Thankfully, she has a best friend to help save her.

You know what? I’m gonna stop writing about what will happen. Just know she does redeem herself.
Hope you enjoy this one as much as I did!
