I usually LOVE the western type books, I’m strange I know. With this book, I did enjoy it but not as much as I had thought that I would. The story was shorter than I had thought, but I still thought that it was a really good story to read, especially if you enjoy the romance stories.
We meet Eugenia, who is a stubborn woman who just made me laugh with almost everything that she said. I swear she had an amazing sense of humor that just didn’t seem to stop, and the best part of that was she didn’t really “try” to be funny! Now Wyatt’s character, I honestly think he was my favorite out of everyone mentioned in the book.
He had his moments where he caused me to have the “WTF” look on my face, but overall he was just an amazingly sweet man. He knew what he wanted, and he went after it, even when he kept getting shut down at every turn!
Overall, I did enjoy this book very much. And even though it is part of a series, you don’t have to read the other books in order to follow along with this book.
*Received an ARC for honest review*

I have read books 1-3 in the series and in this book it is finally time for Eugenia to get her comeuppance. With all of her matchmaking of her sons and her firm commitment to never marry again so she can enjoy her freedom, it's only fair that she connects with her true love. I enjoyed reading a book featuring an older couple in their late forties who are still very passionate. Some good twists and turns in this book.

I usually do not read or listen to historical romance stories, but when given the opportunity , I thought I would give this story a try.
I really enjoyed it. Though it’s part of a series, it’s a stand alone . What I enjoyed most was the fact that the main characters are in their forties.
Eugenia is a mother of three married boys, with families of their own. Her deceased husband was a tad dictatorial and now that she is by herself , she is enjoying her freedom to do and say what she pleases. She is also known as the town’s matchmaker.
Wyatt is a widower whose wife was a friend of Eugenia’s. Though they never acknowledge it, there was a spark between these two. Wyatt is determined to court and marry Eugenia , while she is adamant to staying single. As far as she is concern , she doesn’t need or want a man.
It was fun to see these two interact. Things didn’t go smoothly for Wyatt. Will they get a chance of a second chance at marriage and love, or will the stubborn Eugenia get her way?
A well developed plot with complex characters that will entertain you.
My only but was that in the audiobook, though Eugenia is in her 40s, her voice sounded like the voice of a woman in her 70s.
I was gifted an audiobook of this story. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Like a fire cracker on the Fourth of July!

Who'd have thought that match maker extraordinaire Euginia Burnett, she who has successfully married off all three of her commitment wary sons, is scared of remarrying?
Wyatt has always known he and Euginia had sparks, but until both their spouses passed he never acted on it...now however, all bets are off, she will be his! She may be leading him on a merry dance but Wyatt knows every second of the chase will be worth it when she agrees to marry him. He knew there would be sparks, but the moment their lips touched there is a blazing inferno, so why is she still running and why is there fear behind the heat in her eyes?
Is this Wyatt's second chance or does he have no chance?
I read the first three books in this series waaaay back in 2012, but somehow missed the release of this in 2013. The whole series is now available on Kindle Unlimited and is just as good as I remembered!
I loved the Burnett 'kids' turning the tables on Euginia and match making, a great finish to an amazing series.

Spicy romance

A last addition to this series! This is finding a husband for the Burnett boys' mother!! Quote the humor and turn about is fair play! Couldn't get this book to fully download, even after several tries. The first page of each chapter was missing. But read enough to enjoy it!

Loved it!

I'm so pleased by the outcome but don't want to spoil it for anyone. It's a great story and they should read it themselves. Thank you for writing and sharing this story with me. I hope to read more about this family.

The Christmas Bride

Wonderful!!! The 1st widow bride book that I've read. Reminds me of my hubby & myself. My husband was my childhood sweetheart but it took us 45 years to get together.

The Christmas Bride

This book was a lovely follow up to the books where Eugenia played matchmaker for her three sons. They turned the tables on her and that makes for a wonderful story. Truly enjoyed all four stories!

I particularly liked the idea that this was an older couple find love.
I also liked how her sons and daughters-in-law manipulate Eugenia in the same manner she had manipulated them in the first 3 books of this series.
