Listened to the audiobook - June 17-June 18, 2020
I really enjoyed the narrator. She did a great job pulling me into the story. I really liked the way she added inflections into her narration of the story.

What would you give to have a second chance to find that one person you've always loved? What if you had a secret that you were afraid would ruin that second chance if you were ever to find it? As more time passes, is it worth holding onto that dream or should you just let it go? Even with the secret that must be shared? Is a chance at finding your true love worth all the sacrifices?

I loved this story of a second chance romance. Although technically it could be considered a first chance. Did I confuse you there? Caleb has loved Kira since high school. Yet she didn't really know who he was. Years later Caleb is hoping to have a chance at finding Kira, fixing a mistake and finding his happily ever after!

I loved these two characters. Especially Caleb. Talk about a good swoon worthy Hero! If you like sweet clean romance, a little mystery, fun humor, emotions and struggles, character growth, then I highly recommend this book. I've enjoyed the books in this Secret Billionaire series. This is actually my second read through of the Executive's Secret as I helped do editing for the author on it. I loved the story then and I loved rereading the final outcome again. Definitely a book that I will be rereading and recommending to friends.

Kira's life has some major struggles in it, which have caused her to set aside her plans for her future and dreams but little does she know that she's about to have some great surprises coming her way. Life may not always turn out as planned but how we handle the ups and downs and go with the flow of our ever changing lives will bring unexpected joys and blessings that we could have missed if we stuck with our plan.

I loved the music aspects of this story. It was so fun to read about Kira and her piano playing. I'm a pianist and went through the whole auditioning for colleges' music programs. Oh the stress, the emotions, the frustration, the exhaustion, the love of music and playing...and so much more. I connected with this story even more due to that because it is something dear to my heart.

Lots of fun and sweet moments, some upsets, some struggles, family ups and downs, lost things found, friendship and sweet, sweet love.

Content: Clean. Some sweet kisses.

I snagged a copy from Amazon. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

The older I get, the more those rose-colored glasses come on when I think back to my high school days. Caleb had a big crush on Kira back then, but as a shy, somewhat rebellious nerd, he didn't stand a chance, but she's definitely the one that got away. A chance meeting just before their ten year high school reunion and a very successful start up business gives him the courage to take that second chance.

I don't know if I could be brave enough to take that second shot like Caleb does. He is definitely persistent and I love a man who knows what he wants and will do what it takes to chase after her. His patience (with a few slip ups full of chemistry) is swoon-worthy and he's a sweetheart, especially for having all that money. I tend to revert back to my shy and insecure ways when I'm around high school classmates, but this guy is stronger than me.

Kira is one of the most selfless women ever and she's still as sweet as she's always been, but a little clueless. She has reasons to be a little gun-shy with a new relationship, but I almost felt she took her reaction to his honesty and apology a little too far.

I love a fun, clean, entertaining romance and I had a hard time putting this one down. Even though I didn't always agree with Kira's reactions, I found their interactions to be sweet and the plot to be creative and fun.

Content: mild romance (kissing).

DNF at 5%

Some clumsy sentence construction that gave the impression of rushed writing and a lack of editing.

Despite the pain those visits brought.

While Caleb was the geek of the school - a geek to the max.

And avoid liver damage like his father was now suffering with.

The 54 was quieter than most upscale Denver hang-outs, and having a membership here was an oxymoron - at least for him.

Why is it an oxymoron??? (an oxymoron is a combination of contradictory or incongruous words eg: cruel kindness)

At one point we are told that Caleb doesn't drink alcohol because he had grown up with alcoholic parents (plural) and yet, when he was admitted to hospital after a teenage binge-drinking session, his mother said to him: "Isn't it bad enough that your father does this?" But SHE drinks as well!!!

I did not like the way the author thought it necessary to detail a waitress: a thin woman of about thirty-five wearing black slacks, a black blouse and thick black eyeliner. This was not from Caleb's pov - it was a mere 'aside' added by the author with no purpose or reason other than to give a rather derogatory comment on a nameless woman and it jarred, badly. Was I going to have to read descriptions of every nameless 2-bit character who appears in the book - the woman in the corner drinking her coffee perhaps, or the woman getting out of a car across the road? It had a touch of unpleasantness about it as if there was something pathetic about being a thin women aged 35 and wearing black.
This was a sweet second-chance love story about a girl who had it all in high school and then sacrificed everything for her parents, and the boy who had nothing in high school but is now a billionaire- but his crush on her hasn't changed. A way to pass the time, but I liked the first book more.

First published on my blog: https://agencyofbooksandspies.blogspo...

Caleb Davenport was the high school bad boy who became a computer programing genius. He has spent the last ten years growing a successful international business. Kira Bancroft was the high school good girl who had dreams of becoming a concert pianist to wound up working in a local Denver restaurant. Caleb never forgot about Kira and Kira does not remember him. After reuniting after ten years, sparks begin to fly; however, Caleb has a secret about his past that could ruin everything. Will Kira be able to look past Caleb’s past to give them a future?

I found this story to be so fun and light. I love Kira. As a musician myself, I felt so sad for her loss at her musical dreams but admired her for her sacrifice in helping her parents. Caleb is a heartthrob. He is a man that has been through so much but has risen to the top.

I loved this book! I could not put it down and found myself cheering them on. A sweet clean romance about second chances.

*Please note I purchased a copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this book, it didn't seem to be one of those cheesy romances, you know the kind. I thought the whole thing was really well written and just amazing! It was the perfect way to spend an afternoon.

I loved Kira. I thought she was such a strong young woman. I felt a bit sad that she had given up her dreams to care for her family after her father's accident. But also a little amazed by her unselfishness and caring for her parents in that way. I liked that no matter what happened to her, Kira was unwilling to let it knock her down for long. She is resilliant!

I also liked Caleb. I liked that he is a good guy. He goes out of his way to make sure Kira has some happy things happen to her in this story. I liked that he was honest with her, even though he knew his honesty would hurt her. I liked that Kira was able to forgive him and give him a chance, even when he thought he would have hurt her way too badly.

I loved the love story in this one. The whole thing was fun and swoon worthy, well after realizing that Kira liked him too much to kick him to the curb when he hurt her.

I liked everything about this one! Make sure to grab your own copy, you won't be sad that you did!
This is a sweet story. I like second chance romances and this one was cute. It was really like a second chance at the first time. Caleb hadn't made a move when they were in high school and she didn't know him. I didn't like that he kept something, but I did like that since he had done so, he kept it close. I liked how when she waited on the five men at Rossi's, she didn't know or remember them, but she was very kind in letting them know the truth. I liked Caleb's reason for not drinking again after that party his senior year. He seemed like a nice man. He had a tough row to hoe in his teens, but he got through it. Kira didn't just take him for a ride as soon as she found out about his money. She was still cautious and not greedy.

Voluntary review of advanced reader copy of ebook.

-"...Even though you were my dream, you’re more than I ever dreamed you would be.”-

This is a sweet, clean romance. It is a stand-alone novel. I did not notice any grammatical errors. It is well-written.

Both characters in this story have faced trials and devastation in their family life. She struggles to make ends meet. He is a billionaire. She is his whole life. She doesn't remember him at all. He would do anything for her. She is furious with him. Will they be able to put their differences aside and find common ground -and love?
