Introduction:
It’s October, and with Samhain approaching, Ember must enter the Cruharach to face the darkest night of her life. As she gives herself over to the Autumn Stalkers and the Leannan Sidhe, she is plunged deep into the shadows of Annwn to face Cernunnos and the test of the Hallowed Hunt. Meanwhile, the Wild Hunt is trying to contain collateral damage throughout the city. A Fae hate group is terrorizing Seattle, going after shifters and humans alike. In the middle of investigating the deadly cult, Herne takes on a new case. A frantic wolf-shifter mother begs them for help. Her three-year old daughter has been kidnapped. With three other young girls already dead at the hands of a serial killer dubbed the Angel of Mercy, Herne and Ember find themselves in a desperate race to find the girl before the Angel of Mercy claims another victim and strikes again.

This is my favorite book in the series so far. Ember is constantly changing and evolving, an intriguing process to watch. The supporting characters continue to grow as well, and I can’t wait to see what Ms. Galenorn has in store for them both separately and together.

Ember is facing quite a few challenges in this book. A new hate group has formed and is killing on a mass scale, theres a kidnapper/murderer called The Angel of Mercy preying on little girls, and its time for Ember to enter the Cruharach. They are racing against time in every way. The Angel of Mercy has kidnapped a fourth girl and they must find her before she ends murdered. Plus, they must find out who is behind the new Fae hate group. Is it an actual group of Fae or are they being set up? In the midst of this Ember is going to be facing some hard choices. Will she become her worst nightmare? Will she even make it through the Cruharach? If she does make it, will she still be her or will she lose herself and become someone new?

This book is fast paced and will keep you on your toes! I love the chemistry between Herne and Ember. they are flat out combustible. Plus, we get see some new drama with the other members of the Wild Hunt. Cant wait for the next book!

The series that you never want to put down!

Another great book in one of my favorite series. Yasmine Galenorn has mastered the art of implying that there is more and in fact giving you a tidbit of that more...but still saving it for the next book. This is good because I enjoy series with a larger meta plot as well as a smaller story. One of the series strengths is the sizable cast that manages to be compelling and not reliant on shocking revelations to be that way. Galenorn's books are often underrated because they tend to have sexualized women on them, which turns people off because they don't understand that the female characters in her books are empowered by and in control of their own sexuality. More female authors than you can imagine, Galenorn and Jean Johnson especially, get pegged as romance authors and their sci fi and fantasy chops are ignored.

Lots going on throughout this book… much of it centering around Ember’s finally going through the Cruharach, and learning the truth of who and what she is. There are two cases that the Wild Hunt is investigating, only one of which is completely solved. The other is partly solved, and part of an ongoing storyline! This is not a standalone book by any means, it’s building on the four previous books, and continues into the next, so please read in order. That being said, it’s an engaging series, with a fine cast of characters, an excellent supporting cast, and some truly fascinating world building. Nobody is perfect, not even our heroine, but they keep going flaws and all.

This book was absolutely fantastic!! If Ember has enough to worry over with the Angel of Mercy and a new Fae hate group, that her approaching Cruharach would be icing on her very hectic life. With three other daughters found dead and a fourth been taking and the hate group killing and harming shifers and humans alike, will the Wild Hunt be able to stop them, find the girl, and help Ember through her awakening in time. Ms. Galenorn will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting to find out more. Great book in my opinion.

With this book Ember and crew run into some bad things. The hate group terrorizing the city is bad enough, but their actions are making others retaliate, not a good thing. The case that the Wild Hunt is working on has missing kids, which seems to make things worse. Then Ember is facing Cruharach, her life will change, making her leery about it. While they all make it through these things, it's tough for them. It will be interesting to see what happens next.

Favorite so far!

I loved this one so much. Wild Hunt is my absolute favorite series by Mrs.Galenorn and each book gets better as we go. I loved the drama and internal turmoil Ember goes through in this installment, as well as the investigative panel lot line. Reminds me of Criminal Minds + fae/shifters/mysterious gods/etc. Highly recommend!

I really like the Wild Hunt series. There are so many parallels to the violence and hatred in today's society. The strength Ember has to face her heritage and history is inspiring. I also like the detail around the different fae races and how Yasmine really brings life to the legends.
