This was such a great read, I devoured it. I could not put it down. The twins were the best. I was so happy that it all turn out perfect.
I hope that there is a book 3 because I need to see how everyone is doing. I want to know about all the new relationships turn out.

Does anyone else have a fascination with reading about twins? I love a good sister story, but if they’re twins I’m super invested and this one hooked me right away. Anna and Amelia were separated at birth and this starts when Amelia shows up on Anna’s doorstep. Anna is thrilled by the news and embraces her sister wholeheartedly, just as she does to all the people in her life. Amelia is more reserved and Anna’s mom and husband are skeptical and when Amelia confesses she’s there to ask Anna for her a kidney, things get complicated.

It sounds a little over the top and soap operaish, but it’s not. It’s much deeper and more emotional than that and was a really lovely story about family. The characters were complex and well drawn and this was so heartfelt and endearing. Definitely an emotionally charged story but I felt hopeful in the end.

Bailed at 8%. Why am I reading this long, rambling passage about a doberman? ?

Rounding up to 4-1/2 Stars!

This story has a ton of emotion going on between all of the characters. I really liked how Lori switched the POV between Amelia, Anna, and her mother Robin, it gave you different perspective.

I am on the fence with the relationship with Anna and her husband, however I am glad she stood her ground at the end, but I still feel unresolved about it.

You will need Kleenex while reading. I am hoping and looking forward to Moonglow #3!!

I can't really recommend this book. I can see it as a Hallmark movie, and that is not a compliment. Granted I usually read nonfiction, but I take audiobooks when I go on a road trip. I try to keep them lighter. The first part of the book is just dripping with an abundance of adjectives and a wealth of cliches. I picture the author sitting down to write with a thesaurus next to her computer. I looked up the author and discovered she churns out books at an alarming rate, never a good sign. The premise is a good one, but some parts are very unrealistic and trite, and yes, predictable. So much of this book could have been omitted, and that would have been an improvement.

The premise of the book sounded so intriguing and interesting BUT I couldn’t get past the first few chapters. After 35 years you learn you have an identical twin sister and when you see her, your reaction and those around you are literally laughable and so unrealistic that it made the story ridiculous. I just could not read any more into the book. Too bad because the storyline had great potential.

4.5 stars.

The Keepsake Sisters by Lori Wilde is an endearing novel about what it means to be family.

Anna Drury is a Moonglow resident who owns a bakery and enjoys a happy marriage. Her husband Kevin travels for his job so she and their two children, 3 year old Logan and 10 year old Allie are on their own quite a bit. Anna has a huge heart and she is willing to help anyone in need. She volunteers a lot and enjoys playing in a band with her friends. Anna is close to her mother Robin and her brother Mike and she is still mourning the loss of her father.

When Amelia Brandt shows up at their house, Anna naturally welcomes her with open arms. Kevin, on the other hand, wants nothing to do with the complete stranger on their doorstep. Willing to fight for the chance to get to know the twin sister she has never met, Anna is upset that Kevin does not agree with her. In fact, he leaves her to deal with it on her own while he goes on a business trip. Anna is also shocked by Robin’s reaction to the news that Anna is not her biological child and that she wants nothing to do with Amelia. Despite the turmoil in her family, Anna could not be more delighted to spend time with Amelia. But how will she react when her sister reveals her reason for tracking her down?

Amelia is reserved and standoffish but determined to carry through with her plan. She did not grow up with loving and devoted parents so she is taken aback by Anna’s warm welcome. Amelia is very uncomfortable with her twin’s physical displays of affection and emotional declarations. Although Amelia grows to genuinely like Anna, she knows she needs to tell her why she wanted to meet her. However, will Anna change her mind once she realizes that her feelings toward her twin have changed?

Anna’s life is completely upended when Amelia knocks on her door. She completely accepts Amelia into her life and she will not allow her mom’s or Kevin’s attitude to affect her decisions. Anna is stunned by Kevin’s outburst but she acknowledges there might be some truth to what he says. But she is furious at his assumptions about Amelia and some of the decisions he makes without her knowledge. Equally unexpected is Robin’s reaction to Amelia and her out of character behavior. Anna does not want to hurt her family but will she give up the chance for a relationship with Amelia?

The Keepsake Sisters is a delightfully heartwarming novel with an engrossing storyline and wonderful characters. Amelia and Anna are beautifully drawn characters whose relationship slowly blossoms over time. Robin’s reaction to her daughter’s news is realistic and easy to understand. Kevin’s kneejerk response does not cast him in the best light and makes it difficult to like him. The undeniable bond between the twins is evident from their first meeting but will unanticipated details about Amelia alter Anna’s viewpoint of her newfound twin? With unexpected twists, Lori Wilde brings this captivating novel to a heartfelt conclusion.

Anna and Amelia are identical twins, literally separated at birth. Years later, thanks to 23&Me, Amelia shows up on Anna's doorstep, not just to say hello but searching for help with an organ transplant. Yep, schmaltzy, but this is what was needed by this reader during home renovation!

Go Cards! L1C4!!

Anna Drury opens her front door and gets the shock of her life. Standing there is a woman who looks exactly like her! Her name is Amelia and she is Anna's sister, an identical twin sister Anna never knew she had. Why did she suddenly show up? What does she want? How and why were they separated? Well written story and great characters. I really enjoyed the book and highly recommend it!
