Introduction:
All CIA agent Scott Steletto had to do was bring captured terrorist Brendan Miller to the U.S. He even had extra security to make sure nothing went wrong. But something does go wrong. Another terrorist group, seeing Miller's value to the CIA, snatches him in a blinding fast raid that leaves four agents dead and Steletto wounded. The New World Revolutionary Front demands a ransom, and if the CIA doesn't pay, they're going to shoot Miller and ruin any chance the Americans have of extracting information valuable to the War on Terror. The NWRF doesn't count on Miller having a few tricks up his sleeve, or Steletto's relentless determination to complete his mission. And when Miller gets away and the two team-up to fight their common enemy, the NWRF faces the wrath of two men who are deadlier together than they are separately.RUNNING TIME ⇒ 5hrs. and 48mins.©2019 Brian Drake (P)2020 Tantor

The Termination Protocol - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Scott Steletto's the CIA's agent of choice, when it comes to hunting down the maniac who's got the backing of a secret traitor in the White House. His plan to overthrow the United States government is told here in The Termination Protocol, the first book in the great new Scott Stiletto series, by experienced author Brian Drake.

Though on the gory side in his description of the many gunfights in the novel, (a detail relevant to the faint-hearted), Brian Drake's excellent novel is a 21st century spy-thriller that more than matches other all-action spy heroes, such as James Bond or Ethan Hunt.

The unputdownable, edge-of-your-seat thriller features non-stop action and in-your-face interactions between Stiletto and the villainous madman and his murderous henchmen, that will stick in your mind long after you've read the last galvanising page!
Grab your copy today and keep your eyes wide open for the next intense thriller in the Scott Stiletto series, The Fairmont Maneuver - you'll love them both!

If you're seeking an action novel that's heavy on bullets and light on bloat, look no further than The Termination Protocol by Brian Drake. The prose is as tight as anything Lee Child or Vince Flynn ever put to page, but with quadruple the action. If you're a fan of the guns 'n' guts genre and that last sentence didn't get you salivating, I don't know what will. (Maybe giving away a free Glock with every book purchase?)

Drake is an accomplished author and he recently unleashed his latest creation, CIA operative Scott Stiletto, upon the literary world. Genre fans who ignore this novel deserve to be terminated like an ISIS terrorist wrapped in disease-drenched rags. The story rockets forward so relentlessly that it redefines the phrase "rapid-paced." Lean and mean is the name of the game here.

The most vital component of any action-adventure book is ... well, action (duh) and this one offers a plethora of gunfights. While not exactly a gore-fest, Drake definitely goes more graphic with the carnage than we typically see from him. As a self-professed action-splatter aficionado, I wholeheartedly approved. Heck, I think I even gave him a standing ovation at one point ... which was awkward, since I was in church at the time.

Anyway ... lest you erroneously believe that the book sacrifices plot in favor of all-out action, rest assured that a nifty plot does indeed exist, full of betrayal and crises. The bullets may blaze and the brains may splatter but the savage action is in service to the story and characters. No doubt Scott Stiletto will grow more fleshed out in future installments, but as it stands, he is given ample enough personality to make him a welcome addition to the pantheon of pistol-packing action heroes.

Bottom line, when all is said and done and boiled down to bare brass cartridges, if you like action-thrillers, you'll like The Termination Protocol. Even if it doesn't come with a free Glock.

I started reading this book, found it interesting in the beginning. Then it started getting clumsy with a lot of players being introduced. Halfway down, it becomes so confusing that I left reading it. I picked it again only for the sake of finishing it and ended up liking it. I wish the author had better storytelling skills. In any book, there are a few characters the author picks who are pivotal to the story and we see the story from their eyes. Feel for them. But here the author has invested least in developing the characters. Even the protagonist Scott Stiletto wasn't developed well. The story is good. Shows the reality of the protests going on around the world and the real conspiracy behind these so called "revolutions". I'll give this author another chance for the plot alone.

Excellent Spy Adventure

The Termination Protocol reminds me of an Ian Fleming novel. Scott Stiletto is not a copy of James Bond, but he is close to that classic hero. Scott's boss is named Fleming. I love that. I recently read the latest book in the series (#5), and Scott refers to a torture technique used in Casino Royale. I am now reading The Fairmont Maneuver, the second book in the series. I hope to see additional Scott Stiletto adventures in the future. Thanks goes to Brian Drake for this well written, exciting series.

Really enjoyed this book even though it took me a few days to read. My 4 cats insist on my attention and I have to quit reading. Two sides against each other, and you get to follow both of them through their plans. One trying to destroy America by blowing up whatever they can, and the other side trying to stop the destruction. One of the problems is that they never know who is with them or against them. Even the trusted Government can't always be trusted.

Predictable and Pedantic

No surprises here... the plot is predictable with the only surprises coming from the occasional ridiculousness of avoiding common sense, and overworked unbelievable scenarios. I got to the 60% mark and quit... I just couldn’t handle being yanked out of the story repeatedly to roll my eyes. Hard Pass IMO.
