I really want to like this series, and I catch glimpses of the Thoene greatness which I love. But mostly the writing is bad, disjointed and choppy. The characters are flat...and what should be a sweeping historical and futuristic saga is didactic and preachy. Wish the Thoenes would have written this together...love their Jerusalem chronicles.

Interesting book

Interesting how they brought Bible prophecy to life throughout the history of Israel. I wish I would have started with first book in the series

I want MORE, so much more! Every page I turn, every word I underline as being meaningful makes me hunger for the outcome. This is such a good series. It just takes so long to get that next book. I reread the first installment, "On the Mountain of the Lord" to refresh. I had forgotten so much due to the lag time between the publication of book 1 and book 2. Now I'm excited to get my hands on the next book. Authors, please hurry. Amazing story!

Riveting Read

Although I am a huge fan of the first book and thoroughly enjoyed this book up until the last chapter, I gave this book a 4 not 5 because the ending just didn't seem to come together for me. It almost seemed like it just dropped off unexpectedly. I learned something new about Bible prophecy which was very intriguing and I enjoyed the further development of the characters, but I'm disappointed that the authors didn't take a short book 2 and 3 and put them together as one. Especially since the end of this book does not really explain what the outcomes of the final attack are. Sort of a cheap way to get 2 books out of one. Sorry, but that's my opinion. I am still a fan of Ray Bentley and the Thoene's, in fact I've read almost all of the Thoene's books, which is why I was a little disappointed with the ending.

Interesting, but lacks nuance

I like the book. It's an easy read with plenty of action. The characters are borderline stereotypes: the sorrowful man who to d's faith, the strong woman who doesn't need faith, the wise grandmother, and others. The good guys and the bad guys may not wear black or white hats, but they're still obvious. The prophecies are interesting in light of current events, but I wish there was a disclaimer that differentiated the accurate research of past event with speculation about how ancient prophecies may being fulfilled in 2020. Other books that have tried to read current events through the lens of prophesy have fallen short and have rightfully been dismissed. Will it happen again here?

See it for Yourself No disappointment

I've been reading Bodie Thoene books since 1986. Bodie is a master story teller. This book spoke to my heart and confirmed many things to me. I love how it goes into the history of Israel. I've come to know the characters and each personality fits perfectly together. It's exciting to see through Jack's eyes when he has a vision and is actually in the vision. This book opened my eyes to the way of life in Israel. I'll never get to travel there, but through this book I get to experience it and see it through the authors words. I believe there is a real anointing on this series. I look forward to reading the next one. My eyes are wide open. You must read it. You won't be disappointed.

Beautiful Story - Biblical & Modern Day Israel

Jack Harrison carries on, finding his way after discovering his Jewish heritage. Is peace possible between Israel & thee Palestinians? Why do so many hate Israel? Because in doing so, they are not loving God & His Chosen People. Greed, thirst for power & money...do these elements drive evil in humankind? These elements lead to death. But God is mighty & His Plan will prevail for those who love & trust Him. Excellent read! Highly recommended!

Excellent but very didactic

I've never read a bad Thorne novel and doubt I ever will. This one is rich with history and touching relatable characters, as usual. A thoroughly enjoyable read.

It is expressly didactic however and I fear a bit imbalanced in the process. It is not a fatal flaw unless you come to it with a strong anti-Israel bias. Yet, there is much even one do bent can learn in the process if they will keep an open mind and enjoy the story. There is much any can learn if they lack exposure first hand.

Convincing Story

The characters are more real in this second novel. Bette is recovered from her fatAl wounding by a terrorist. Dr Garrison meets his grandmother. She fills him into so much of his ancient history. She has bones. She is real.
