4 - "As long as you take off your shirt and wear a cowboy hat, we can do it any way you want, Mr. SEAL." Stars!

Take the film The Bodyguard and add a dash of the TV Series Nashville and that’s kind of the vibe Sara Jane Stone has given us for Dante and Chrissie’s story in To Seduce a SEAL.

I really enjoyed this one, nothing was too heavy or overly dramatised, it was more about the unconventional relationship between a man acting as a reluctant Bodyguard and a singer who is reluctant to have a Bodyguard. All the while they are both pretty much in agreement, in that they have an almost instantaneous attraction to each other.

"I strive for perfection... and not just when it comes to kissing."

They both believe that their careers are the one thing holding them back from getting involved in a full-blown relationship, Dante has been burnt before, and Chrissie is working and earning for more than just herself, which brings on added responsibilities.

He was done playing fast and loose with his heart.

I like that Sara made this part of their story important but the drama wasn’t overplayed, it built up in small additions to their story around the romance blossoming between them while Chrissie is on the road.

"I want you, not the show you put on for the rest of the world."

To Seduce a SEAL is a nice, easy-going read, it takes a look at two people who both believe they can’t put love first due to their careers and the responsibilities they have for others. And over the course of the building of their relationship shows them both that it shouldn’t be that way, and that love should never be sacrificed between two people for the sake of others.

"If we do this, you’ll walk out of this room satisfied."

ARC generously provided by the author, and it was my pleasure to provide the above review.

A little bit sappy at times and for those of you who want your fiction 'realistic' you should pass on this. I liked Chrissie and Dante and I enjoyed reading their relationship. Their lives are totally crazy-he is a SEAL and she is a music star-but, oddly the book worked for me. Its a fast read with lots of heat and a dose of sappy that it exactly what I want when I escape into a romance!

A sweet and sexy modern-day version of The Bodyguard.

I love these Brazen novels - you can always rely on a well-written, fast-paced fun read, and this book was no exception.

Dante is a swoon-worthy leading man. He is a tough, alpha-protector type with muscles upon muscles and a soft, gooey center. My best kind of fictional book boyfriend.

Chrissie is a good girl who has just hit the big time in her country music career. The timing is a little skewed, happening at a time when her family are falling apart after the death of her older brother (while serving abroad.) He used to look out for the family and now that responsibility has fallen on her slim shoulders. Between work, touring, and familial burden, she has no time for herself. Until Dante appears on the scene and they start falling for one another.

I loved the development of their relationship and it was hot and steamy, and involved impromptu disguises and role-play.

Character development was decent and there was strong emotional depth to the plot. Sometimes, I find those qualities lacking in books of a similar length, but I was delighted to find that wasn't the case here.

Life seems to be dragging Chrissie and Dante in opposite directions, thanks to their steadfast commitment to their careers, however, the underlying message is that you have to fight for love, and be prepared to make sacrifices, no matter what obstacles block the path.

I love books with a HEA and this one delivered in that regard.

Overall, this was a great read, and one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. It's also worth pointing out that I haven't read the first two books in this series (though I would like to as the characters seem intriguing) but you don't need to in order to enjoy this story - it is an effective standalone.

Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy of this book, via Netgalley, in exchange for my honest review.

The third book in the Sin City Seals series focuses on Dante, who has has featured in the first two books and has been a bit of a mystery, so I was looking forwarded to finding out his story.

"Of all the country starlets, I get saddled with the Disney princess."

Unfortunately though, To Seduce a SEAL just didn't hit the spot and I struggled to form any connection to either Dante or Chrissie: something that has never happened when I've read a book by Sara Jane Stone. Their story lacked depth and needed something more to make it stand out. Granted it did improve as it went along and the second half was better than the first, but it was too late to save this for me and I never felt any particular chemistry between Dante and Chrissie.

Sadly, this and the previous book haven't hit the heights of the first book. But it certainly doesn't mean I won't read the author again; I will as the good experiences do outweigh the not-so-good.

Copy received courtesy of Entangled Publishing for an honest and unbiased opinion.

Too bad, there's nothing really swoon worthy in this. Felt bland to me. I would give it a 3.

This is a free review via netgalley~

This story starts out with Dante Raske, running on the beach trying to get his knee back in shape after ACL surgery. He tore his knee up on a mission he is a Navy Seal. While running he notices a women who is struggling to get away from a man by a group of rocks. He takes off and throws the guy down and hits him once in the stomach only to find out that they were rehearsing for a video that was going to be shot latter. Now the guy who was the ladies backup singer is out of the video and tomorrow out of a job. After some talk Dante plants a kiss on her that makes feel and now she wants him to be in the video. First he does not know Chrissie Tate a #1 country singer at the moment. After some coxing he does the video and he and his buddy end up doing security for a few shows. The problem is that Chrissie and Dante are attracted to each other and he stays on as security until his knee gets better for him to go back to full duty. Their relationship is full of passion but at the same time they are beginning to care for each other and he especially does not like the way her manger and record company keep pushing her. She is working on writing songs for a new record because she does not want to be a one hit wonder. Before his leave is up he goes back to San Diego. He still has two weeks before active duty but he is miserable, and she is as well on her part of the tour. His buddy tells him to go to her and work it out. when he gets their the new security person that he hired won’t let him in so he has to go and find a costume to sneak in. this is funny because she is always going around in different costumes. Now he must find her and ask her a question. Read the book for the answer. A very good story. I got this book from netgalley. I gave it 5 stars. I nominate this book for BEST FIRST KISS award—and I'm not telling you'll have to read, but trust me you will love it too. This is one of those books you wish there were more than 5 stars you could award. Any SEAL book lover knows the conflict of having to leave on a moment's notice, and the continued and extended separations. Any guy would be lucky to find a woman who understood from the get go and even applauds him for his patriotic loyalty. (she's lost a SEAL brother and Dante knew him)
Country heartthrob Chrissie supports her family with her music and is dedicated to everyone but herself. When she needs a bodyguard, sidelined Dante fills in while he gets back to full speed to rejoin his team. He doesn't do flings anymore, and isn't ready for a real relationship after his wife “dear johned” him while he was deployed.
But they both know the score so why not? I mean they can't keep their eyes, thoughts and lust off each other. They know their time together has an expiration date. But two people who spend time together, become friends and lovers, depend on each other—can they really just walk away?
I loved the couple, the conflict was very different than every SEAL book.
I began as a Sara fan and remain one, anxious for the next book. Whatever it is I will read.
I was provided and ARC for an honest review.

Oh Chrissie and Dante, how you tell such an amazing story. This book did not disappoint in either the story or the sexy hotness. Dante is a Navy Seal on medical leave from a knee injury suffered in the line of duty. He agrees to help be a body guard for an up and coming country singer who has some fans who have been getting a bit too close. He ends up starring in a music video with her too that leads to a super steamy kiss. When he agrees to help teach her self defense, those lessons turn into better lessons in no time at all. Dante falls for her quickly, but knowing what the Seal life does to relationships he doesn't see how there is any way they could manage anything, especially with her rising career. Will these two figure out a way to their HEA or was it simply an amazing fling?
I was given an ARC of this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Sara Jane Stone writes kick-*** characters. Female characters with grit take on their own demons with a little bit of help from the alpha male. Ms. Stone believes in equal opportunity heroes and I love that. I received a copy of To Seduce a Seal in exchange for an honest review. Chrissie is a live wire. She follows her dreams, speaks her mind and looks out for herself. Dante is brooding, sexy and in need of control. Two immovable forces are just the equation for a sensual overload.
