(Cigs) (without much success, I might add.)
Enter Thomas Much younger than our lovely Lady Boss, eleven years to be precise, he sees something in Lina that she hasn't even recognised herself, a submissive nature, now Thomas is all raring to cure Lina's smoking addiction with very unconventional methods.
He's had fantasies about his sexy boss for years and plans to replace it with a different habit, a craving for the kind of control only he can offer Lina as beloved and adored Pet.
Thomas & Lina entering into this partnership agree to keep their arrangement on the low. Lina is Thomas's boss which makes it difficult to openly fraternise with each other outside of work, also the nature of their involvement as master and pet is something Lina really doesn't want to advertise.
So what did I think of our leading Man & Lady?
Well, This is where some of my grievances start to rear their head.

We have Thomas, twenty-Five, a bit geeky in a sexy lovable way but also surprisingly to Lina a Dom in all his personal involvements. I found him an extremely affable character, very well liked by his co-workers and an all round nice guy.
I personally loved Thomas, I adored how human and unsure he could be, in my eyes this only made him seem so much more real A genuine, human persona behind the Dom mask.
This contrast to his Dom personality, made for intense sexy reading, the softness and humour towards his Sub only adding to Thomas's very unique charm.
I suppose this is why I was so shocked when all hell broke loose and he broke all the rules and went Psycho on his pet.

So Bar that one instance where Thomas went crazy with his jealousy, Our leading man tries to be a calm, methodical fun master.
And about that one episode, Thomas indulges in, A tantrum if you must call it something, well it really didn't sit quite right with me.
I have read some extreme stuff over the years so I'm really not that shockable, but this occurrence, well it really smacked of abuse rather than control and humiliation, and I suppose that's what made it so extreme in my eyes as it was quite tame in nature. I think this was because it didn't seem quite consensual at all.
and the golden rule when it comes to kink is SAFE, SANE, CONSENSUAL.

Thankfully there is only this one scene from Thomas.
A bit like the Hulk ay! ANGRY!!!! You Wouldnt Like me when I'm angry!

Lina, Well all I can say here is I really found It difficult to understand how she has got to the grand old age of 36 while still being completely naive about the so-called characters of others. Lina was a very hard woman to relate to, I really wouldn't have blamed Thomas for dumping her irritating ass at all, that girl could seriously give you whiplash with her lack of trust and issues to commitment.
Personally, I am also seriously offended on Thomas's behalf at Lina's disbelief of His overall character. this is what I mean by lack of judgement and respect she says she loves him dearly but believes he would actually do awful things to her, WTF so not LOVE!!! Whatever has poor Thomas done Lina to make you lump him in such an unflattering category?
Also, D/S is all about the trust, there is no trust on Lina's part for poor Thomas, she automatically thinks the worst of him every single time, when he's done nothing to warrant this.

So what worked for me and what didn't float my boat

1/ I loved the overall concept, the age-gap and boss status of lina and then the balance of power switching towards Thomas as the Dom outside of workplace was a stroke of genius, this really worked with Thomas although younger really holding his own.

2/ I found the added tension and angst was not needed and in my opinion detracted from the story.
There doesn't always have to be DUH DUH DUH Moment!!!! sometimes simple is best.

3/ Lina was not a very nice character NO LIKEABILITY FOLKS!!

4/Without giving away any spoilers I think her reactions to her " experience" we shall call it, with Seth, were was a little extreme, yeh I get it traumatising, but Lina was meant to be made of stronger stuff, I just found it a touch let's add some drama here to Jazz it up a bit.

5/ Trust! Trust! Trust! THIS IS AIMED AT YOU LINA!!!!

6/I loved this until all the angst came into play, for me exploring the connection between these age gap lovers was intriguing, you don't always need big plot swings to attract and connect with readers, simple concepts can work just as well.I would have much preferred unorthodox Therapy to continue more along this vein.

7/And finally those Red leather boots, OMG!!! The mind visuals these gave me, way hot!!! Fanning myself here folks, Kinky Boots for sure !!!

So, in conclusion, I did enjoy this, It was very well written and the interaction between Lina and Thomas was off the hook in terms of the heat factor.
it just sometimes failed to connect with me and there were a few little niggles that bothered me some. Like not being able to stand Lina at all, Now, Thomas, I loved him, well most of the time, so overall in the grand scheme of things, this was a fascinating read that kept my interest and I would definitely recommend this to my fellow readers who like this type of genre.

So I have tried to be as fair as possible with this review, I will say that some of the initial D/S scenes between Lina and Thomas were some of my faves in as far as kink play is concerned, really hot and beautifully written, so when this worked for me it really pushed my buttons in all the right ways.

I received a free Readers copy of Unorthodox Therapy By Lilah E. Lina is the founder and CEO of a successful computer software development company in California and doesn't suffer fools lightly. She recruits talented people but expects loyalty and commitment and rewards them accordingly. One of her employees is Thomas, some ten years her junior, who suggests one day that he can cure her of her tobacco addiction, which she has tried to give up on several occasions. However, his course of action is unorthodox to say the least, (hence the title of the book) as he is a Dom who assures Lina that, if she submits to him, he can cure her. Thus begins a BDSM relationship with potentially romantic strings and much angst between Lina and Thomas and a violent episode when one of her employees takes exception to Thomas getting promoted.
The BDSM episodes were excellent, not only because of the descriptions but also the way they blended into and were part of the storyline rather than being just added in. The characters of Lina and Thomas were great, as was the way each character was allowed to tell parts of the story in their own way. The book did reach a conclusion of sorts but was 'to be continued'; however it was not really a cliffhanger as such so can certainly be appreciated as a stand-alone. There was a minor point which I felt could be improved - there were several 'text notes' numbered in the story but the explanations of these were at the end of the book rather than at the foot of the relevant page - I wasn't even sure where these were and not sure how easy it would be to access them in the course of reading the book. All that said, this is one of the best BDSM tales I have read and accordingly happy to award it 5 stars - 9.5/10.
This book was received in exchange for a review from BDSM on Goodreads TPE BAR Program.
I was asked to read and Review Unorthodox Therapy and give it an honest review.

I had a hard time getting into this book. I am not sure if it was because I didn’t care for the lead character Lina very much at first or my mind was just in other places. But for whatever reason I had trouble staying engaged with the story.

The writing style is very emotional and goes very in depth, with both Lina’s and Thomas’s inner thoughts and feelings. It was one aspect that I really liked but also found a bit sluggish. There was just so much, the story just dragged to a point where I couldn’t stay engaged. I also found with such a high level of intense emotions, I just needed a break.

The BDSM aspect of the story was both beautiful and dark. Yet, I found Lina’s reluctance to accept who she is distressing and that ultimately helped to destroy her. The scenes between Lina and Thomas were written in a way that brought forth the erotic pain that Lina was experiencing. I was able to get a better understanding of how a misogynist’s mind works.

The story was left with such a hook/cliffhanger, that I was left reeling at the end. Both Lina and Thomas are left in such a state of total misery, but it is for the right reasons. I am just left wondering what happens next.....Sara

http://www.boundlessbookreviews.com

https://www.facebook.com/BBReviews

Enthralling read! Everything that FSOG wished it could be. A wonderful tale of power exchange, muddied by love and a woman's spiral into the darkest reaches of BDSM without losing herself. Some dynamic twist and turns and well-crafted story that is loaded with suspense.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
Let me begin by saying this is my first BDSM novel. In fact it is rare to see erotica in full length. That in itself is a plus, like getting the entire show and not just the trailor.
The authots writing style is intoxicating and draws you in instantly. I had such a hard time putting this book down.
I adore strong female leads and was not let down with Lina. She is a confident woman with the power of being CEO and owner of a company. Enter Thomas, geeky nerd programmer with hidden physique and a Dominant side.
I loved being able to read in a sense that I was there experiencing it along with them. The dual narration was spot on. Fair warning, it ends with a cliffhanger that makes you wanna beg for more...

Unorthodox Therapy (The Unorthodox Trilogy Book 1) by Lilah E. Noir

What a rollercoaster ride! As a professional woman who happens to work with technology this book was fascinating to read. The complexity of the story line along with well-developed characters was predictable and unpredictable at the same time.

We meet a Lina who is CEO and founder of ChaosTech Solutions. She is independent, headstrong, overworked and driven to be successful in a man’s world. Her relationships have been less than spectacular and she has an addiction to smoking.

Meet Thomas programmer at ChaosTech Solutions. We learn Thomas started at the company at a very young age (18-19) as Lina’s personal assistant with very little knowledge in the technology world. He is now 25-26, has gone to college, proven himself and moved into a developer role within the company. Oh and he is a Dom.

From the beginning it was evident these two had feelings for one another. Thomas catches Lina on the fire escape smoking in the first chapter and offers to help her break her bad smoking habit. How do you ask? Well let’s just say it sexy, panty melting and HOT!!! Thomas convinces Lina to enter into a D/s arrangement for two months to help her forget about her smoking and other bad habits that she has.

Lina naturally has reservations about his arrangement but agrees to give it a try. She has a great deal to learn and denies she is submissive. Their first session was very intense and a really big shock to Lina. Thomas on the other hand is finally able to get the women he has dreamed about for 7 years.

Behind closed doors (in the office and home) their relationship grows. There are times when they are both immature and decide to call it quits. As CEO Lina worries about her image and ChaosTechs. She stands to lose it all if anyone where to find out. Keeping the balance has taken its toll. The relationship is moving along until photographs taken during a session have been emailed to all employees, board of directors and some high profile clients at ChaosTech. This is where I said the book was predictable. When you are in the high a profile and we see that she is constantly worried you had to know something like this happened.

So with that said the mystery comes in when we learn who the perpetrator of the email blast is a Senior Level Developer Sam Anderson. Why would Sam do this? Excellent question and I won’t be the one to spill the beans. Let’s just say he is not firing on all cylinders. The book takes an unexpected turn at this point. The emotions now are running high and I found myself anxious and eager to get to the next page.

The last thing I will say about this book is I cried during the last part of the book. I had been a such a rollercoaster and to have these two lovers………made me cry. Ha! I am not spilling the beans here either. Just know that this story came to a conclusion (notice I didn’t say I liked the ending) and let the door open for book 2.

I highly recommend this book for any women who wants to read about a highly successful submissive and her journey.

https://www.amazon.com/Unorthodox-The...

BDSM (I gather, from reading) is very much about one person putting themselves in the capable, careful hands of another. Unorthodox Therapy presents the same basic situation, with author Lilah E. Noir playing the dominant role and the reader submitting to the various pains and pleasures she chooses to inflict on us for our own ultimate enjoyment. Two lead characters, Lina and Thomas, bind us to the narrative with their intense personalities, and once she has us caught securely in place through the characters, she proceeds to lash and tantalize our senses with sensuously crafted erotic scenes and a sometimes-stinging whip of a plot.

The initial hook is that Lina, a tightly wound Silicon Valley CEO, falters in the latest of her string of attempts to quit smoking. Her sky-high personal expectations simply keep her under too much pressure for her to ignore the temptation of her one weakness, nicotine. Enter Thomas, a longtime employee of the firm who started as Lina's personal assistant years ago and therefore knows her much better than she realizes. He offers her an "unorthodox therapy" that he has used to help others overcome their weaknesses in the past, and despite her misgivings at their age difference and employer-employee relationship, she takes him up on it.

His method, naturally, involves drawing her into the world of dominance and submission, inverting their power roles from years as boss and subordinate.
Lilah Noir warns us in an up-front author's note that this will be a challenging and sometimes dark story, and the faint-hearted should take her at her word. Although the early part of the novel provides only occasional foreshadowing of the perils that await both Thomas and Lina in their exploration, by the end, the book will take them both well past their breaking points.

Both Thomas and Lina intrigued me with their complexities, and their relationship feels real because both characters are so well drawn, and because Noir cunningly alternates the narration between their two perspectives. Since we see with both characters' eyes, we get the full depth of tension between them, and understand as the story unfolds why each of them holds back with a certain reserve -- and how that mutual reserve leaves them both vulnerable to dangers within and outside of their secret relationship.

A variety of satellite characters play roles in the action too ... but these I found less compelling. The ambitious vice president who wants to overthrow Lina as CEO comes off as little more than a leering, moustache-twirling villain, and there's an angry, abrasive programmer who takes it upon himself to become Thomas's nemesis in a thoroughly over-the-top manner. Within a story that's anything but straightforward, these antagonists felt out of place to me in their singular fixations. Inevitably, they threaten the main characters with catastrophe, though, which provides for some of the most gripping twists in Lina and Thomas's relationship.

The book is the start of a trilogy, but it's a satifying read on its own, and definitely delivered enough that I want to see where Noir takes the story from here.
A dark, emotional story worthy of more than 5-stars! Incredible literary journey.

What can I say, and where do I start? I finished this story a while ago but didn't know how to even begin with writing a review that would let the author know just how much I enjoyed it. This is one story that has taken me on a journey in a way that only Lilah can. Her writing is phenomenal. It isn't a light read. The story and characters are deep and complex. Through the sharing and revealing of the characters' lives, you can tell Ms. Noir is knowledgeable in the topics she covers.

Ms. Noir takes you into the world that is a more realistic version of what "real life" is/can be like. It isn't always rainbows and unicorns. It isn't always sweet and sappy with an HEA wrapped up in a neat little bow. There is another side that is not as easily spoken of or written about in such a skillful way as this story is done.

Can a strong, independent woman submit without losing her sense of self, without losing her strength?

Can a talented and masterful man dominate a woman without losing control of himself?

Does it always have to be hard? Is it possible to submit, or control, without crossing a line?

One of the greatest aspects of this story (believe me, there are many) is that you aren't told what the characters are thinking or feeling, you are there. You are in the minds of each one, experiencing the emotions and sensations with them. You feel their struggles, you see things through their eyes. You understand where they are coming from, why they are thinking what they are thinking - feeling, acting - because Ms. Noir's skillful writing allows us to put ourselves in the minds of the characters. Their situations are gritty, their dialogue: intelligent, their actions/behavior/decisions are understandable and real.

The story isn't one of those you read quickly, enjoy, and then move on. It is one of those you want to both rush through and take your time to savor it; not wanting it to end. I had a hard time reading this story, not because of the content, but because I didn't want to miss anything. I wanted to take my time and understand what I was reading. I wanted to take a break and allow the scenes to sink in. My feelings and emotions were completely engaged from start to finish... and beyond.

The premise of the story is a Lilah Noir original, with all the dark, twisted, enjoyable parts that are Lilah's writing style. The characters were multi-dimensional, making them more relatable. Add in some page-turning, palm-sweating, heart-pounding suspense with the erotic nature and you get one of the best stories of 2016 in this genre.

Would I recommend this to other readers of this genre? Heck yes!

Did I enjoy this story? More than I can say.

Would I read another Lilah Noir book? Without hesitation. I look forward to reading another book by Lilah, and I can't wait for the next part of this story.
