I know it’s set in the Viking days but I’m too much of a romantic to like the idea that H will never be faithful oh and the fact that h slept with his brother (not that I held that too much against her considering H slept with her stepdaughter and continued sleeping with ow even after he fell in love with h) every man in the book thought it ok to sleep with ow even if they are married because apparently they can separate desire from love as evidenced by H’s brother who was the jarl and loved his pregnant wife but slept with all the thralls, sometimes even when she wasn’t too far away so she could have seen it! My romantic heart cannot accept cheating so I couldn’t enjoy this book.

Audio 4 stars
Story 4 stars

Again I have to say I can't bring myself to shelf this as a romance. In all honesty I don't feel any chemistry or connection between the h and H. It doesn't help that only the heroine's POV is given and the monologues are endless. There's also an extensive separation because the hero has to take off on a mission.

The only reason the series is still holding my interest is because I like the cultural aspect of the story. It reminds me a lot of the Vikings series from the History channel. It's not fluffy and romantic...it's primal.

What a brilliant follow up to Viking Thunder.
Emmanuelle has written a great saga of the Viking days.
This book follows Elswyth as she follows Eirik to his Viking home.
Her love is enriched by his presence.
Complications arise.
Faline is jealous of Elswyth.
The Jarl - Eirik’s
Brother wants more than his wife and Faline.
He wants all.
Elswyth uses her powers as a healer to help the village but all becomes extremely complicated.
Ostara is a powerful night in the Viking calendar.
A night of pagan ritual.
Elswyth will feel the pull of the old gods.
She will discover much more about herself and her desire!
The Jarl will feel the full extent of his power unleashed and shooting.
Also complicated by the power of erotic description that Emmanuelle is so good at.
A powerful page turner.
Great read
Five shooting Viking stars!.

Not for the faint of heart. It's a historically accurate love story, when life was brutal. They had different social mores than we do now. Don't read this expecting flowers and sickly sweet heros. I don't understand why some people read a story like this, knowing full well they're not going to like, then leave a rotten review and one star. If they have that much time to waste they need to look into volunteering or something that will add positivity to the world. It makes a person suspect their motivations and wonder if Goodreads is even relevant. There are enough reviews to let people know what they are going to be reading. It's well written, angsty and historically accurate. KU

Elswyth leaves Northumbria and her grandmother behind to follow Eirik who is the brother of Svolvaen chief. Even though she is not eagerly accepted by most of the people, she learns their traditions, their gods, and their way of life. It is a brutal life filled with hardship, disease, death, and the violent impulses of the chief. However, their life is also filled with love and honor which is displayed in the raw and primitive love that blooms between Elswyth and Eirik. Book 1, Viking Thunder, left me wanting to know more, and Viking Wolf did not disappoint. This story was full of all things emotional, plenty of heat, and hope for the future. It was a beautiful story.

No rating (it wouldn't be fair)
Skim reading it, online. The ads are annoying af.
Found it as 'Viking Warriors, Vol. 1-3'
I'm already on vol. 3

SPOILERS AHEAD

The writing style through me off at first, but I got used it. The writing isn't my favorite but I stuck around for the plot...and because I don't know why I do the things I do sometimes. There are themes here I don't even like! Normally, I would have dropped this like a hot potato. The H/h have sex with other people throughout the story. In his case, blame it on the setting of the story. These dudes have to have side pieces. In her case, she didn't always have a choice. These are raping and pillaging times, y'all. Makes me think of this classic movie moment.
However, she did consent to have sex with the H's brother. She wanted it, because she thought the H had abandoned her...and she was horny? (spoiler alert: he hadn't abandoned her). Then, H comes back and they get married, but don't live happily ever after just yet. Cue in revenge plot twist. In vol. 3, (how did I get this far? ?) she gets captured by H's enemy and he rapes her. Anyway, I think he's going to fall in love with her, and she might catch feelings for him, too. I don't know how it ends...I might finish it. ?

OW drama is fun ?
The things I get myself into for an ounce of angst. I'm weak.

A scorching page turner with gritty realism and rich Historical background. Loved this engaging story by Emmanuelle de Maupassaunt. Be sure to read the prequel short story, Viking Wolf!
