Since this book isn't out yet I won't be posting any spoilers (even though I freakin' want to.) I've decided that instead of writing a full on review, I'm going to let the gifs speak for me.
This is how I felt at the end of the last book.

How I felt reading Wildfire Gospel.

My overall final reaction:

Kenya Wright is an evil mastermind. Love triangles make me want to pull my hair out. From the very beginning of this series, I have been completely and totally Team Zulu. He has always been so compelling. Powerful. Sexy. Enigmatic. And completely amazing with Lenore. Then there is MeShack, the man-whore who broke her heart; the guy that can’t keep it in his pants for five minutes. Yet, I saw the writing on the wall back in Fire Baptized. MeShack grew up with Lenore. They share years of common history and love. No matter what roundabout fashion we have to get there, that’s the guy who always gets the girl. And he does not deserve the girl.

In cases such as these, there are not many ways to level the playing field. The author can either kill off the great boyfriend (a la Kim Harrison) –or pull some character assassination out of left field (ie. Jess Haines.) I’m sure there have always been some MeShack fans out there. But with things as they were, there was no viable way to discount Zulu, so we must look to the options above.

At the end of The Burning Bush, MeShack died. I celebrated. I knew that was likely a fake-out, but I let myself hold out hope that the love triangle was over and Kenya Wright had totally proven me wrong and actually went the way I wanted. Nope.

We find out on page one that MeShack is alive. I’m not going to spoil the how’s and why’s of it, but he is no longer the man he was. Half the book is written in his POV, and follows his journey as he struggles to understand how he has changed and deal with it. The other half follows Lenore as she seeks vengeance for what happened to him and Cassie –as her relationship with Zulu grows even more intense.

I knew at the 21% mark how it was all going to play out. I hoped I was wrong. I wasn’t. My worst fears were confirmed 68% in. I hated that Wright went in this direction, but I am also mad at myself because I should have known better. I did know better. But it upset me all the same. I almost quit reading the book… which says a lot, because this is a really good series. I was that pissed off.

I’m glad I didn’t stop reading. Things didn’t wrap up quite as tidy as they could have and that lets me (foolishly) hope the end-game isn’t really a foregone conclusion. Aside from that, there is some cool stuff going on. If you’re not all about the relationships, or if you’re not in the Zulu camp, the book will likely rock your socks off. As with the previous installments, the story is layered and smart; the action is intense (though gory at times); and the heat level is molten hot. Wright knows how to deliver in her love scenes.

Did I give it all away? Did I say anything of value here? (*sigh*) I don’t know. Wright has obviously done something right, in that I care so much about these characters. But I don’t like being sucker punched either. — I will read the next book, but I don’t have the excited joy going on that I had the last two times around.

*ARC provided by author for review
First I love this series the whole concept and use of religion i love it!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been team MeShack since the caged view that's actually when i fell in love him and i loved him even more after this book which i felt finally gave us a look into him and who he was. Graham is the BEST LOVE HIM. I'm kinda sad though because i feel like it won't go in Meshack's favor and i don't even wanna think about how it's going to end!!!! I liked Zulu so much less this book i don't know. I hate to say it but i didn't care for Lanore much either she's still holding a grudge against Meshack for doing what's in his nature but was quick to forgive Zulu i didn't get it like. I didn't get Zulu being mad at Meshack for disrespecting his claim when he did the same thing to Meshack but that was just. I look forward to the continuation of the series even though my heart is all twisted up with nervousness. Keep up the great work!!

It's almost 4am, and I am so thrilled that I had a chance to read this awesome book. With all of the Urban Fantasy books on the market, it's a rare feat to find an author who is not only passionate about her craft, but highly inventive as well.

The only thing that I hated about reading this book, is that I am going to have to wait until June to read the next installment.

If you have not had a chance to read & , then you are doing yourself a serious disservice, because overall, this Sista is a hidden treasure, who has been seriously underestimated.

Giving this one: 5 Smoking Stars...

AWESOME

So, I waited until I read all three books in the habitat series before posting a review. I LOVE THEM!!! Lenora is still growing on me. I hope there is more growth with her as the series progresses. She is too impulsive and at times, just stupid. She's a hard read. I hope there is growth bc I would hate for a really great series to be ruined bc the primary character is too stupid to function. Lenora is frustrating but there is hope. I love Meshack!!!!!. I almost lost it when he had his accident but he bounced back. I cannot wait to see how his character evolves. I cannot wait to see what powers he will possess and I hope he can shift again. That would be awesome!!!!! I'm also liking Graham. His character is a trip. I cannot wait to see what powers he actually has. It is going to be interesting to see how he and Lenora learn how to adjust to one another bc she is going to need him to teach her about who she is as she evolves. I just hope she starts to mature bc I would really hate to stop reading a series bc the primary character remained immature, but I have done it before and will do it again. I just hope I won't have to bc I am LOVING this series and I want to keep falling in love so please, KW, dnt ruin this for me. I have been waiting for something new and fresh to dive into and you delivered. THANK YOU!!!! So please dnt ruin this for me. Anywho, Team MeShack all the way!!!!! Anywho, Zulu is damaged but in that lies his Beauty and strength and weakness. His evolution is going to be awesome if he can step back from the ledge. I'm also excited about Angel. I hope she manages to transition and realize her own greatness. The supporting cast are superb. I cannot wait for Mother Earth and Dante and the Habitat police to get their comeuppance. Anywho, please dnt make us wait too long before another installment. And if you haven't figured it out yet, I highly recommend this series. I'm going to stop with my review bc I dnt want to throw out anymore spoilers. Happy Reading y'all!!!

Cliffhanger ending.
Seems the series has been abandoned. The first two books were published 2012 & this book in 2014. All end in cliffhangers.

The series was addictive & I quickly fell in love with all the characters & world. It could easily be the best series I discovered this year, If not for the fact it’s incomplete & with no future book in sight. Such a shame.

What a difference a day makes ... who knew the day after the masquerade ball would bring about so many changes and scattering our intrepid hero troops in different directions. Santeria is in turns aflame, deserted and overcrowded in the aftermath of the abrupt ending of the ball. Also, I confess, this is the first book that had me gasping 'Oh! My! God! on page one.

Together, Lanore, Angel and Zulu surprisingly find themselves striking a deal with everybody's favorite arch enemy, Dante, and coming out ahead. Lanore and Zulu share a secret that shock Angel when she finds out and intrigues Dante as he tries to use it to his benefit. Lanore finds out what happened to Lanore in her absence. Zulu flexes his muscle and exhibits previously unseen powers.

MeShack is shocked with how he left the ball and is even more shocked as he tries to get help from Lanore's father Graham. He is a special kind of special our Graham. He's powerful and insane. If he was a megalomaniac he'd be predictable too but nope, Graham's forgetful from too many dead brain cells instead.

This emotional roller coaster of a read exposes more about the habitats and broadens the canvas of the read. Zulu reverted to his book one character once again so obviously (to me at any rate), strong, he overshadows and dominates Lanore's contributions. Comparing the male leads MeShack is more an alpha partner and while Zulu is more an uber alpha property owner.

The more I read in this series, the more I appreciate it. Once again it's hard to review a read, determined to not spoil it for others yet tell you what happened! The vivid characters and intricate read is more than the sum of its parts. The wait between releases is this reader's own personal Tantalus (or Tartarus, if you prefer).
Rating 4.5stars
