Introduction:
Long ago, during the Great Purge, the witches that had grown too many in number and too powerful, were destroyed. The high fae council saw that the balance of good and evil had been tipped too far in one direction and it had to be rectified. So they killed all of the witches, and their creator…or so they thought. But they were wrong. Volcan, the high fae, who had once been a member of their council, until he decided he wanted to be all powerful and created the witches, had bided his time, hiding in the Dark Forest. Now he’s back and hell bent on rebuilding his army of witches. Only this time he’s set his eyes on the gypsy healers to be the tool from which he creates them. He already has two of the newly found healers, Jewel and Anna, with his blood running in their veins. And though he thinks he’s got it all planned out, what Volcan hadn’t calculated into his formula of healers + his blood = witches, was the healer’s mates, Dalton and Gustavo. Both males are more than ready to sink the...

Losing momentum

I usually love Quinn’s books. The problem is that the mate bond is the driving force that keeps the books entertaining. This book had very little of that. It seems that time is getting distorted in the books (as in one day takes chapters and then three months takes pages). I’m going to keep with the series for as long as I can, but the plots are getting recycled and it’s starting to dry up. I hope for the sake of the previous books and the quality of the story that both the Grey Wolves and Healers wrap up soon.

That said, she may be able to pull spinoffs for the people we’ve seen who have unfinished ends, but the main plots (Volcan and the Burning Claw) are getting tired.

This book is passably good, but I honestly feel like everything that happened in it could’ve been shortened, and additional action/plot should’ve been added.

Okay no.
Just NO.
LET’S start with the good part. Heather and her mate. Period.

Here go the BAD PARTS.
As a native Spanish speaker I didn’t appreciate how Quinn didn’t even bother to consult Google translator. No. There’s no excuse. Verbs and sustantives badly conjugated. Crying-tears-of-blood Godawful grammar. She wasn’t even trying, seriously. It was like a fanfic, I could’ve written it.

Second. She’s delivering lot’s of mating bonds at the same time you can’t even ship one before she changes the POV.

Third. Nothing gets done. NOTHING. The story just doesn’t go anywhere.
This Review is actually painful to write, I get she needs ways of making some money and stuff....but this is just disappointing. She’s losing credibility, and I hope it doesn’t affect her career.

That this book is rated with a 4.6 and Marissa Meyer’s “Renegades” is a 4.08 with an action packed SL, or Margaret Rogerson’s “An Enchantment of Ravens” is a 3.7 with that magnificent lyrical prose, shows what’s wrong with the world. It’s not fair to rate an effortless book like this with more than 3 stars only because you think the characters are hot.

This is a joke. I’m finishing these series only because I can’t stop reading after going through the whole lot, and I’ll be burning my eyes after it.

And if I had sintaxis or gramatical errors during this review I don’t give a damn just as she didn’t give one.
I was about to give this 2 stars because I got the Heather mating part but it really deserves 1 because Jen isn’t here to save you and you trying to turn Heather into a mini Jen didn’t work and wasn’t appreciated, thank you.
Peace.

Disappointing

I was very disappointed with this book. Felt more like a novella. I'm used to Quinn's books having a purpose or an ending but lately it's been constant cliffhangers.

I also feel as if the books are being dumb downed a bit. Some of the banter is becoming a bit childish. It worked in the grey wolves series but not so much here. Also, it just seemed the story was dragged out for no reason. The jury is still out pn Thad.

That being said here is what i did like. You learn more about Jewel and Anna. You see more interaction from the gypsy healers and their mates. The interaction w the mates is always everything. You also learn about Z and Sly and find out what is making them help Volcan even though they are nice to the girls. Anna and Jewel get to see that there is more than meets the eyes w their mamas.

It was a decent book and one to pick up if you are a fan of Quinn's BUT it was missing her usual magic. With the others i never fully felt they were totally YA and anyone could read it. This time ard meh. However, i am hooked on the series and can't wait to read the next book. I just hope its a bit more developed than this one turned out to be. I still love Quinn and this world she has built, just expected a little more.

I want to start by saying that I have read every single book in each series related to the grey wolves, Gypsy healers and fae. I have grown to love each character and all the intertwining plots. Each story is captivating on it's on, but together it pulls you in like a spider on it's web. I have enjoyed all the humor and witty banter since the prince of wolves which I have read a handful of times. I enjoyed it so much. I'm invested in these characters lives. I even read the forums between them on Quinn's website during book release breaks. I said all of that to say how truly disappointed I was with this book. Nothing took place in the story that couldn't have been Included I another book. Their was no development. No action! No true desire or passion. These are the things that bind us to the wolves and their mates. Also we waited the ENTIRE book for Peri... Wtf was that about. Then she finally shows up without an explanation and it's only to sacrifice her life. I don't buy it. I feel so cheated out of a true plot driven story. I feel like these gyspy healers are taking on the same character traits as Sally, Jen and Jaqueline. Didn't like that. The sneak peak at the end with Sally was more engaging that the entirety of this story. I am looking forward to the next one simply because my heart is invested in these characters and can't walk away without closure.

This was so bad

I love the grey wolves series but this book was really bad.
My first language is Dutch, so most of the times I can pass the grammar errors or spelling mistakes.

But this time I couldn’t do that, I got so frustrated by the errors. Sorin was with the wolves left at the house, suddenly he was in the pixie realm. I couldn’t read this book. This is the first time this has ever happened to me.

I still love the characters, the story is good. But the errors in the book just took away the love I have for the series.

I fell in love with Loftis’ series The Grey Wolves, and the Gypsy Healer series runs alongside it, with some characters mingling with each other.

I don’t like giving books 3 stars or less, especially with an author I adore, but I just had to for this one.

Very little happens in this book, besides some very angry male Wolves trying to get their mates (who they haven’t met yet) out of a realm that has been locked. I found myself wanting to skip ahead (though I resisted) because I just wanted to see when the wolves were united with their mates and the no doubt hilarious and sarcastic interactions.

I think Loftis was focused more on the Grey Wolves Series storyline, as considering the order of when this series and the Grey Wolves books were published, it seems to be quite a short period between books. It might have been a struggle for her to write more than one at a time, and therefore focused on book 11 of Grey Wolves as it is a more developed storyline.

That being said, I enjoyed the character development and the hilarious commentary, especially the running commentary the group of friends supply to the “blind chick” so she isn’t left out of the loop (heather is my favourite character in this series).

I’m still going to finish this series, as there is only one left anyway, and I do enjoy the storyline and am intrigued as to where it will go. Fingers crossed!!!
Loved it

I thoroughly enjoyed this latest installment of the Gypsy Healer series, though I wish that Sally would have been in this book as well, given how heartbreaking her situation was from the last book. I’ve loved Sally since the beginning of the Grey Wolves series so it was disappointing to not have her in it. BUT it was great getting to know the new gypsy healers a little better too!

I've read the other 3 books, but in reading this one it felt like information was missing. It almost seemed like I was supposed to know about situations I didn't know anything about.
I stopped reading the Grey Wolves after book 8 because I lost interest. If I was supposed to keep reading in order to understand this series then forget it. It'll be the last one for me.
Plus, 4 books in and the couple from book 1 only now are together??? No thanks.

********** Contains Spoilers**********

I enjoyed this book. I liked the humour throughout this book, even if it does get a bit repetitive. It still made me smile. During this book Jewel is starting to slowly lose herself to the darkness, as Volcan’s dark magic is infecting her. Jewel turned Anna into a witch as the magic made her do it. Jewel and Anna are now both witch and healers or wheelers as their warlock guards Sly and Z call them, left Farie and they ended up in LA, with Sly and Z protecting them and kept them on track to do Volcan’s bidding and start turning women into witches, so Volcan will have them to do his bidding. They have to turn witches, otherwise the magic will end up killing them. Jewel and Dalton’s bond is still severed so she doesn’t even have their mental bond to be to speak to him telepathically. Anna at least has her mental bond to talk to her mate Gustavo. She keeps her bond locked most the time due to being ashamed with what they’re doing.

When they choose their first women to turn into a witch they try the spell but they end up absorbing her memories and the women drops dead. During Anna’s grief Gustavo reaches out to her telepathically to try and help her deal with it, as that’s what true mates are for but she wont let him. They try again with another women but the same thing happens again. Anna tells Gustavo what happens. Volcan shows back up and doesn’t like it when his orders are being disobeyed so he teaches them a lesson. They end up being t*rtured by Vampire with a Fae Blade. Gustavo can feel Anna’s pain through their bond, and completely looses it which isn’t good considering he’s trapped in the pixie realm with the new healers, and Crina and her mate Adam. Gustavo nearly attacks Crina but Adam uses his magic to trap her and the healers while fighting with Gustavo. They both only end up with a few scratches as Anna reaches out to Gustavo and calms him down.

Thad the djinn uses his magic to unlock the pixie realm, and Elle flashes in so they can finally leave. I think Lucian did the right thing for the punishment for Ciro, Kale and Nick for disobeying his orders and leave Fairie to go hunting for their mates. They were told that the pixie realm had been closed so they spent 2 days trying to find the realm. I have no idea what they were thinking. Lucian used an ancient form of pack magic and told them that when their mates are finally out of the pixie realm that they’ll be able to scent them, but not talk or touch them and that includes their mental bond. All I can say is Peri is completely selfless, and would do absolutely anything for those she cares about. You’ll need to read this book to find out what that entails. I’m looking forward to reading Forgotten Silence (the Grey Wolves Series) novella and finding out how Sally and Costin are coping with the aftermath of what happened during the Burning Claw. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
