Um, what happened to a complete story? Am I missing part of the book or something? Not to be ugly or anything but Mrs lakes u may want to go back and read the story.

I enjoyed this first book and was looking forward to this one. It started off really great and then it seemed once he found out who and where she worked everything started to go down hill.

Kat helped with reneas wedding and supposedly BFF but renea was never in the story but maybe twice.

Whatever happened to the whole Partner scandal?

Whatever happened to meeting the parents? Kat made it such a huge deal (in her mind) that they hadn't met each other parents before a "conflict" happened.

He hasn't even told her I Love You but he had bought a ring for her?

They go from caring what people would think to just nothing. And it wasn't even addressed. It was like the mood of the story change without letting us readers know.

The last conversation kat had with her coworkers was on the phone while she was recovering from dehydration. And her boss was wondering who "the girl" was. Never had another convo with them about this. Guess they never found out about kat.

Now they are what married and have a child

I am sorry but to much and at the same time to little happened with no completion. Needs a major redo!

Do not recommend.

Krista Lakes is one of my favorite authors but this story didn't do it for me. For one, it needed copy editing. Kat was talking about how she had only one younger sister then said she loves to go home to see her brother. Also, I felt like a point was repeated over and over to get a point across. While she story was a cute idea, I felt like I was rushing through to get it over with. That's not something I normally do with her stories. There were also holes left in the story. What happened when they announced their relationship? How did her friend act after being lied to? What happened with the law suits? It was like the story built up to the climax then just wrapped it up without knowing the resolution.

Sweet story, but it's a bit uneventful. It needed an editor for all the inconsistencies. For instance, was her last name Ryder or Riley?

Plus, I hated her best friend, Renee, who really wasn't that good of a friend honestly. In fact, all of their interpersonal relationships outside of each other were rather lacking.

Kat and AJ's relationship was a bit rushed as well. Although it's not quite insta-love, they really didn't have time to develop anything.

I also really hate it when novels end with unanswered questions, and this one has a lot of them. The important ones are answered at least.
Baby brain is a real thing, guys.

Seriously, writing this while I was pregnant was rough. I knew the story and I could see the characters in my head- but I could not seem to get it on paper. I'd sit down and stare at a screen for hours- or the words would be so choppy and disorganized that I'd have to redo it all anyway.

But, the story came through! It just took me a little longer than I wanted (and the majority of it was written one the baby was on my lap rather than in it!)

I hope you all enjoy the love story of AJ and Kat. I loved writing it (once I could write)

:)

5+ Stars

It's been a long time since I have read a story that captured my mind so much that I woke up in the morning recalling the words on the pages I read the day before. Well Yours Truly most certainly falls into that category. From the inception of their tale I fell in love with AJ and Kat. The gentleness of their undeniable connection grasped ahold of my heart and hung on tight right through to the very end.

Kat has always been a good and caring person focused on the needs of others to ensure everyone around her has what they need. But when she is told she is too much of a good girl, Kat decides for once in her life she is going to take a walk on the wild side even if it is only for one night. When she catches the attention of a guest at her best friend’s wedding, she is immediately transfixed by his gorgeous blue eyes, and Kat finally decides this is the time to let herself go. AJ spends his days dealing with the legal problems his former business partner has left him with. Hoping to bolster some goodwill he decides to attend the wedding of one of his employees where he unexpectedly meets Kat. AJ likewise is instantly captivated by her as she is the most intriguing woman he has ever met.

After spending a life-altering night together, both Kat and AJ realize one night is never going to be enough. But when she receives an early morning call and has to leave for an urgent matter at work, AJ wakes up to an empty bed, a partially legible note and the one shoe Kat left behind. After the passage of two weeks without any contact, Kat is left wondering if the night they shared affected him as much as it did her. But as she fills her days focusing on the meeting with her boss which could change her professional life, Kat is left speechless when she enters his office only to discover her boss is AJ. But because of the scandalous situation his company was now in, AJ and Kat are left to figure out whether the relationship between boss and employee will harm the business even more, or whether the bond they share will enable them to overcome anything as long as they do it together.

I have read many romance novels where the couple shared a deep connection and there almost always comes a point in the story where some sort of discord occurs in their relationship until they finally attain their happily ever after. But despite AJ's legal difficulties with his business and Kat's worries as well, there was never any volatility or explosion of temper between them. It was as if they were created for each other and once their hearts found its match, nothing could shatter or pull them apart. The intense passion they experience from the first night they spend together keeps their souls intertwined. Krista Lakes has written another wonderfully sweet and beautiful love story. Yours Truly will transport your heart to the stars.
This is a beautiful Cinderella like modern day love story that features villains and the hero and heroine. There is Kat who is the modern day Cinderella who met her Prince(AJ) at a wedding, they ended up sleeping together and she slipped away but she left behind her shoe by accident because it was lost. She did leave a note behind for AJ but it was lost, and he never got it. The next time they meet is a two weeks later when she shows up to work and there is the boss and it is AJ and he is quite the alpha male and in Kat’s face.. Kat doesn’t know what to think and AJ is so glad to see her after all this time. The attraction and chemistry is stronger than ever. They sizzle in each other’s presence; I loved how they brought out the best in each other – now Kat’s ex step sisters needed to be brought down a peg and we hear about this lawsuit that AJ is involved in so that is brought up a few times in this story.
This is a story that focuses on true love and overcoming obstacles. I loved the passion and the heat in this story brings this sweet story the added heat needed. The only negative is I would have liked to know more about the lawsuit that AJ is involved in. Other than that, get ready for the twists and turns this story will take for it will lead you on an awesome summer love story ride.
My rating: 4.6 stars *****
I received this as a ARC for my honest review. I thought the story was very cute version of Cinderella. I loved the fact that she has a big foot! I have a big foot myself so I honestly did get a smile out of that. The story switches POV between the two main characters and I truly enjoy that in books so that was a plus. One of the reasons I didn't give this book 5 stars was because I didn't feel a deep connection between the two towards the middle of the book. Now don't get me wrong they had great chemistry and that deep connection you love to read about in the beginning and the very end but the middle just kinda felt like they were rushing the story a tad. Another thing that kinda threw me off was the book sometimes referred to Kat Ryder as Ms. Riley. Now that isn't a big deal at all I honestly ignored it after the second time it happened and it could be my copy since it is a ARC. I really enjoyed the last chapter but wished it would have switched to AJ's POV for at least some of it. And man if I was Kat I would have smacked or disowned her "friend" Renee. She wasn't in the story very much but I just didn't enjoy her at all! There's always that one person in a book or tv show you just don't like and she was it for me.

I love this book! I'm a huge fan of fairytale and this one was right up my alley. Cinderella was always my favorite.. This one is a different take on it but it still has this feel good aspect about it. It's super sweet mixed with some funny moments as well. I love Kat. She's so serious, responsible and even predicable. She decides one night not to be and it changed her life so much! It's amazing how much can change so much in her life. At is trying to save his company and employees. He attended a wedding and never expected to meet his love. These two together are incredible! They have smokin hot chemistry and true respect for each other. AJ is very overprotective with Kat. He wants to make sure she is taken care of. There's even a bit of surprise in this and both characters step up perfectly! I so so loved this book!!! I'd recommend this book!

I was reading it and eventhough I did not understood a couple of things: she goes to a friend's weeding, she is not a bridesmaid but was responsible to bring stuff to the bride and they do not see each other at the party; she works in a company and does not know how the CEO looks and she has a meeting scheduled with him; and they talk about family and they do not appear. But what really bothers me is that I feel there is a missing chapter. It feels like the resolution towards the public situation, that not only affects the main couple, was not addressed and the end was rushed. I have read better books from this author and I was disappointed with this one.

Loved the principle, found little to appreciate in the execution. Predictable romance that could have been told more as a spoof. Lacks (effective) development of both main characters and especially antagonist. Inconsistencies are annoying - characters' names are randomly spelled differently. This could've used another pass (or two) through the editors' eyes. Writer seems to lack the focus for this one.
