Book 2 in the Caine and Graco saga and it was a good read. Zeke and Jamie were a good couple and their chemistry was intense. Their journey to a HEA was full of ups and downs but their reward of love was worth the ride. Can’t wait to read more of this series.

Love Zeke and Jamie so much. They are bada** and perfect for each other. This story has the perfect mixture of suspense, drama and intense heat that had me page turning and forgetting about life for a while. Also love the crossovers with Securities International, which is one of my all time favorite series. Cannot wait for more of these characters and others as this series continues.

E, M. Slue has written a 5-star book that will have you from the first page to the last with all the family drama, betrayal, and a Vegas marriage. Jamie is in Vegas alone after her friend Rachel, has to cancel on her because of work. Now she is in the bar and sees Zeke, a DC detective that she has worked with in the past. They spend time together and have a few drinks. That is all that Jamie remembers, the next morning she wakes up and finds out that she and Zeke are married. She is not happy about this and tells him to file for a divorce. They travel back to DC together and go in different ways when they land. Foward in time 4 months, Jamie is called into her boss Jon's office where he tells her that she is being transferred to the New York office because of who her father is and also whom she is married too. She and Zeke have not seen or spoken to each other in 4 months and she sends him a text telling him that she is being transferred to another office and she will send him her address. Jamie is settling into her new job with a new partner when they are given the case of the Date Night Killer. Zeke ends up working on the case with the FBI and he and Jamie only knowing each other at night. Zeke has done things that he feels like he doesn't deserve Jamie so he stays away from her. This makes Jamie feel like she will always come in second to his job and she is not taking that. She has had to be second her whole life and it is ending now, After they talk, things go more smoothly for them until the Date Night killer gets Jamie. He hurts her and Zeke finds her, but Jamie's mother steps in and stops Zeke from seeing Jamie. Jamie's mother tells her that Zeke has filed for a divorce and this is hurting Jamie. Every time Zeke finds Jamie at the different hospital her mother has moved her too, she is moved again. Jamie wants answers, but her mother will not give them to her so she goes to see her grandfather against her mother's orders. Jamie finds out what happened between her mother and grandfather and wonders if her mother has lied to her all this time.
Will Jamie ever get back to Zeke?
Can Zeke get Jamie to forgive him if he ever finds her?
This was a wonderful book to read and I would recommend it to anyone.
I received this book as an ARC for my voluntarily and honest revies.

I can't decide if I'm just a picky reader, or if the writing REALLY IS THAT BAD. Too much telling, not enough showing...frankly, I don't need to be spoon fed while reading. I don't need to be told EVERY SINGLE MOVEMENT a character makes during a scene.

"I walked up the stairs and entered the brownstone through the open right side of the doorway."

Wouldn't it have worked just as well to say, "I trotted up the steps and joined the realtor inside the brownstone"? I mean, seriously...isn't it understood that to enter a building we have to go THROUGH A DOOR?

I just felt the entire book was a series of monotonous ramblings, both by the characters internally and the author's exposition. And how 'bout using some contractions in the dialogue? People speak in contractions...not using them sounds stilted and unnatural (we're not reading/watching Downton Abbey, for goodness sake).

Oh, and using pet names and given names in EVERY. SINGLE. LINE. SPOKEN. BETWEEN. CHARACTERS. I noticed this in another book by this same author...in any given conversation, the characters use names or pet names EVERY time they address another character. I can understand once, at the beginning of a conversation, but EVERY TIME? Again, REAL people DON'T speak that way. Honestly, the author should be able to construct a believable conversation between two (or multiple) characters WITHOUT having to rely on using names each time a character adds a comment.

According to the acknowledgments, an editor was involved at some point, but IMO, they didn't do the author any favors. Either that, or the author refused to heed his/her advice.

Ah well...YMMV, but I doubt I'll willingly pick up another of Ms. Shue's books.

“I know I’ve let too much time elapse between our wedding, but....you’re mine and I’m never letting you go.”

This was my first book that I’ve read by EM Shue and to say that i was blown away is an understatement. I adored her writing style. In this book you will read about a Vegas wedding between two very career oriented people. One works with a police force and one is a FBI profiler. Zeke truly doesn’t believe that he isn’t good enough for Jameson but she on other hand knows she’s perfect for him, but will he choose her or his career? Their lives couldn’t be anymore different but so much alike at the same point. When their careers intersect each other, they are completely floored. Zeke knows this is his one chance to show Jameson that she comes first but their timing is never good and she begins to feel like she will never be first in anyone’s lives. When the killer they are looking for kidnaps Jameson it turns out to be a race against time...Will Zeke make in time to rescue Jameson or his once chance at forever gone?

Damn what a book. I loved the drama, the danger, and specially, the steamy scenes, they were hot af. It was also funny because Zeke and Jamie started things backwards, getting married first and figured out their relationship after, and it wasn’t easy. It was full of ups and downs, pain, insecurities and doubts, but I’m so happy they’ve finally found their happy ever after. Zeke’s controlling, possessive and protective of her, who doesn’t like an alpha asshole? Jamie has a demanding and dangerous job and outside of their relationship, to others, she’s the strong, confident, badass FBI agent, but in close doors with Zeke, she lets go of her worries and submits to him, giving him the control of her body, her pleasure. Being able to let go with Zeke is freeing for her, liberating. And then there’s their family. There were times I just wanted to cry for them, for the pain they were going through, other I just wanted to rage at them, mainly Jamie’s mother, that woman was infuriating. And that’s what I loved about this book, it made me feel ?

This book has it all!! There's romance, D/s, suspense, family drama, a strong dominant male with an equally strong woman. Zekes Choice by E.M. Shue is the second book in her Caine & Graco Saga, and the story just keeps getting better and better!!! I couldn't put it down!!

When DC Metro cop Zeke Caine meets FBI profiler Jamie O'Malley their chemistry just can't keep them apart. The attraction was there from the beginning, but nothing came of it until Vegas and as we all know, what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas.

Several months later, we have a serial killer,(or two,) some family drama in high places, and true love trying to dig through the red tape of government bureaucracy.

E.M. has seamlessly written this book to just capture the reader from page one all the way to the end. The storyline was fantastic and the characters were all very well written and made. I cannot wait to see what is next for the Caine family.

Zeke’s Choice by E.M. Shue is the second book in her Caine & Graco Saga. Ezekiel Caine and Jamie O’Malley have worked together on previous cases. Her as an FBI profiler, him as a DC Metro detective. The attraction was there from the beginning, but nothing came of it until Vegas. As we all know, what happens in Vegas does not always stay in Vegas.

Fast forward 4 months and we have a beautiful, intense love story mixed with a slew of family drama, intrigue, protective alpha’s, and a serial killer or two....oh my.

This story is beautifully written and E.M. does an amazing job portraying the selflessness and love that is shared between Zeke and Jamie. The bedroom scenes are smoking hot, with a little Dom/sub mixed in. I will be sitting on pins and needles waiting for book 3 to be released. Please let it be Jack’s story?!!

A thrilling book that takes another Caine boy off the market

Jamie, am FBI profiler, and Zeke, a DC police detective, are both in Vegas for different reasons and run into each other at a bar. As the story progresses a series of decisions ties them together, they keep running away from and into each other, and finally accepting the truth of their feelings does not guarantee a happy ending. E.M. Shue’s Zeke’s Choice is a thrilling book that takes another Caine boy off the market. This book references events from Accidentally Noah but the reader does not have to have read that book to enjoy this one. Reader discretion advised due to dark subject matter and/or possible triggers.

I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
